We hurry over to Gregory as fast as we can after telling him we know where he is. We asked him what happened and he said a freak accident happened with Chica. It wasn't a particularly good lie but it looks like Freddy fell for it. He probably thinks Gregory would never lie to him. Which is kind of wholesome, I don't call Gregory out since he's lying so Freddy's feelings don't get hurt.

Gregory leads us back to the modification tube or whatever it's called to install Chica's voicebox on Freddy. I wondered why and he explained to me that some doors require a high-pitched frequency to open them, one that only Chica's special voicebox can make. Strangely specific but oh well. After a quick installation Gregory climbs into Freddy's chest and has us exploring.

We eventually find this really dilapidated room. It kind of reminds me of a construction site. And there are barriers ahead that required all of the special part upgrades to open. Suspicious... The path leads to a rundown elevator. Something straight out of a haunted house. Although, this would technically be a haunted house wouldn't it? I am a ghost-thing after all.

"This elevator seems to be in very bad condition, Gregory." Freddy explains, "It'll most likely only last 1 complete trip, so whatever we do down there it'll be final." Gregory takes a second to think. "Well, do you know what's down there?" Freddy seems to get a... flashback kind of. "I... I think I have. I remember going down here once. There is something truly awful down there." "Well, what if it has something to do with the missing kids? We have to go down there!" "Alright superstar, you coming Lyle?" "Of course," I reply, "I'm with you all the way." Freddy nods. "Great. Let's go."

The elevator ride takes an awkward amount of time. Not long, but short enough to where silence is noticeable. It leads into this decrepit hallway, with tiled floor and dust galore. There's a bunch of tables set up in this big room and a stage. Is this another Freddy's? It's certainly not the one I went to. There's no pirate cove or backroom. Just 2 more hallways that seemingly converge into another room. "This place is creepy." Gregory thinks aloud. "Yeah, it looks older than all 3 of us combined," I respond. "Stay on your guard. There is a nightmare to be found down here." Freddy warns.

We walk down the hall in silence the only noises resonating in our ears being the uncomfortable clacking sounds of tile footsteps. We enter the last room in this place. It has a monitor set-up and two uncomfortably large vents on the sides. Is this a security room? Doesn't look very secure. It's also needlessly big.

"Something's wrong!" Freddy suddenly says as a figure pops out of a faulty-looking recharge station. A gruesome Bonnie look-alike with a color of moldy green. It looks like something you'd find in a fire. It's incredibly damaged too, but, like me, walks on anyway. "What is that?!" I hear Gregory screech. "There's... there's something wrong happening to me! It's like something's trying to... take control! Quick! Do something." Gregory quickly sprints around the room like a man on a mission. He tests out the various buttons around the place and realizes they spew out flames by the cameras.

"Freddy! Hold on!" And then I realize what is happening to Freddy. That malicious code that was going to get me earlier! It must've already been in Freddy waiting to strike. I can tell Freddy is beginning to lose control as his struggle lessens over time. I quickly tackle Freddy to buy Gregory more time. "Lyle! What are you doing!?" I hear Freddy ask. But the horrifying thing is... that's not Freddy anymore. There's nothing different with his appearance, tone, or voice. But my instincts are telling me something sinister is behind that innocent appearance.

I quickly try to get a better hold on this impostor. "Gregory hurry! This... this isn't Freddy anymore!" I can tell Freddy still has some fight in him because normally I wouldn't be capable of restraining him. But alas, this was a losing fight, to begin with. At one point Freddy kicks me off of him and throws me at the wall. I see Gregory shoot him with the Fazerblaster. To try and buy more time as I get up and once again try to tackle him. He ignores me as he slowly and menacingly trudges his way over to Gregory.

He was about to grab him when suddenly the building starts rumbling. And I can tell a fire had started. Freddy seems to shut off so I try to drag him with me to the exit. I can tell he is slowly regaining control of his systems but there just isn't enough time! I can see the building already showing signs of collapse as Freddy limps his way over to the elevator, Gregory already inside of it. Time slows down.

I've come to a crossroads, a crossroads in which neither path will ever intersect again. There will be no take-backs or do-overs.
