˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ A mess of screws, tools, and wood surround the two 24 year olds as they figure out how to set up a new desk. Kenma decided to surprise the girl with a new setup as her old desk was from their middle school days. However, the process of building the new desk isn't going as smoothly as they had hoped.
When they had first moved into the house a few months prior, they had Tetsuro help set-up all their new furniture. Unfortunately, on this particular day he's out for work.
"I don't think we're getting anywhere with this," the girl sighed. Kenma and Y/N have already pulled their hair up into buns, to prevent any hair sticking to their necks. The two of them worked up a sweat and they had barely even figured out how to attach the legs to the base of the desk.
"Let me try to figure it out on my own," Kenma mumbles, "Go collect your stuff from the old desk so we can transfer it afterwards."
Y/N shoots him a smile and plants a kiss on his cheek before getting up to leave the room.
"Ganbatte~"
The girl walks towards their spacious living area where an old beat-up desk can be seen in the corner. They had placed it there originally with the intent to move it elsewhere later on, but the two were so worn out from arranging all their other furniture that they had simply just forgotten. Looking at the desk, it is abundantly clear that it has been well used. Scratches, pencil marks, and random paint splotches litter the surface and her supplies and other miscellaneous items are scattered atop it.
The one item that sticks out the most is a framed picture of her and Kenma when they had first started dating.

The two had just begun dating in their second year of high school. At this point they had known each other for just a little over five years.
They were still getting used to the dating dynamic but unfortunately they weren't able to spend as much time together as they wanted due to attending different schools. While Tetsuro and Kenma went to Nekoma High, she attended Itachiyama Institute. On top of that she was living in the school dorms and was only able to visit during the weekends.
However, the distance didn't stop the two of them from falling more in love with each other. They just had to adapt to using calls for everything. From study dates, catching each other up on their days, to just silent calls where they both did their own thing, everything was pretty much virtual for them during the first years of their relationship.
On the off chance Y/N came home for the weekend Kenma would drop whatever plans he had, even if they were team or school related, and spend the weekend with her. It would often have his teammates questioning his behavior, but Tetsuro always dismissed him so they never really thought too much of it.
When they started their third year, they decided to frame a picture of themselves together to place on their desks. They were debating on a picture from when they were kids but ultimately decided to frame a candid Tetsuro took in their second year.
It featured the two of them napping, huddled under the blankets. Y/N on top of Kenma, and Kenma's arms wrapped tightly around the sleeping girl. On this day, the Nekoma Boys Volleyball team had just finished practice and were going to hang out at the Kuroo residence, but Tetsuro quickly shooed them away when he walked into the scene. Not wanting to disturb them but also not wanting his sister to wake up surrounded by unfamiliar men.
He did however tease the two of them when they had woken up.

Finally finished packing her items, she hauls them back into Kenma's gaming room. The once hard to assemble desk, sits perfectly just opposite of where her boyfriend's desk is.
They diligently worked together to put all her stuff away. Her new desk had built-in shelves and drawers that would hopefully help in keeping her things a bit more organized. They placed the art supplies in the drawers and her electronics on the shelves. Not forgetting to top it off with the framed picture of them on her shelf.
She wraps her arm around his and pulls him back to get a good look at the set-up. Giving it a once-over before doing a nod of approval.
"I didn't expect you to put my desk right behind yours," The girl exclaims thoughtfully, "Won't your viewers be able to see it when you stream?"
"It's fine," Kenma assures, "It was too hard to move anyways."
It was in fact hard to move. He would know as he had purposely placed it behind his own desk, simply wanting their desks closer together.
