The Hallway was practically silent as Doll stayed limp on the cold metal wall, pinned to it by N's wing through her shoulder area. Oil leaking slowly out from the wound of the defeated drone as she powered down. With the red warning lights that illuminated the scene her oil looked more like blood.

Just then everyone heard the sound of claws on the ceiling, clicking and scraping closer and closer to the three. N and Rebecca turned their heads up to have a look at the source of the noise. It was J and V, they were crawling on the ceiling and their yellow eyes shone down brightly in contrast to the dim red of the room.

"Rebecca, I didn't think you had it in you to go and do this. The company will be exhilarated to hear of this!" J complements the blue haired drone as she falls to the floor, giving N and Doll a disdainful look when she landed.

V stumbles slightly as she lands next to her boss, yawning once before begrudgingly congratulating Rebecca and N
"Yeah, congrats or whatever...".

N became a little flustered at the comment from V, pulling his wing out of Doll so that he could properly face his team members. With Doll as limp she was the disassembly drones took her as dead, or in the case of V straight up not notice her.

"Heh, not like you could do anything like this V." Rebecca snapped at her team mate with a aura of smug superiority radiating from her as she did, and the blue disassembly drone was right.

V wasn't exactly the most helpful of the squad with the her preference towards being lazy, nihilistic and being overall unhelpful resulting in the silver haired girl underperforming. Of course N knew that V was lazy but he wouldn't be one to let someone gets away with insulting his crush, even if it was just a small jab.

"Rebecca! Don't say that, V could of easily done this too." N rebutted the claim with a slight look of annoyance on his face, which was also present in his voice. He was now giving the youngest member of the team a glare as both of his hands went to his hips, his back turned to the powered down worker drone that was still slumped against the wall.

The room got a little more tense as the two began to bicker between themselves before J swiftly cut them both off and interrupted. Both Rebecca and V gave their boss full attention as J fake coughed once and fixed her cap, which had gotten a little lose from all the flying and other such activities she had done recently.

The pigtailed drone looked between the two with barely hidden exasperation as she spoke
"Well then, why don't you go and test this, hypothesis of yours Rebecca? You say V couldn't kill of a colony of worker drones and yet you stand here taunting her instead of doing it yourself.".

Rebecca blinked as she took this all in, realising what her boss had said just said. V on the other hand looked like she had won this argument, a sly smile on her fanged face as the she tried to not begin giggling at the now flustered Rebecca .

"Oh... Heh, Of course boss." Rebecca stutters as she tries briefly to recompose herself before giving up and launching into the ceiling. Metal and other roof parts falling as a loud crash was heard from the collision. One had to wonder if she could of made less of a mess as V groaned as dust from the uncleaned ceiling now fell on her.

Rebecca just starts to crawl away through the vents before J snaps her fingers and grabs the drones attention
"Rebecca.".

"Y- Yes boss?" Rebecca answers, looking down from the hole she had made in the grated metal roof. Sending down a small shower of metal filings and other such things as she shifts herself to face her boss, the rest of the disassembly drones moved out of the way of said debris.

"Take V with you." These words cause both of the pair to groan with annoyance, J smirking slightly at thier reactions to her order while N stayed silent. Unsure of whether he should say anything.

"Chop chop. I have something to... discuss with N. And the longer you two morons wait the more workers slink out from our grip." J claps her hands twice as she states her reasons for making such an order.

V scowls at the insult J had slipped into her order before jumping up into the vent and forcefully squeezing past Rebecca. The other drone in the vents merely stopping to glance worriedly at N. She couldn't stop herself from wondering what J and N had to discuss, at least it shouldn't be something bad as he had helped her break into this place. Right?

Once the pair had disappeared further into the colony and their bickering could no longer be heard, J turned her full attention to a confused looking N.

For a minute N had thought that J had straight up forgot he existed as she has done before, so he was glad that this wasn't the case this time. Even if she sounded, annoyed with him?

"Serial Designation N. I have to ask you, how did that worker drone even escape the spire?" J inquired, gesturing her hand at the very obviously dead Doll that occupied some of the floor space near N. Doll had infact rebooted exactly a second ago and was now listening in while forcing her visor to stay blank as to not reveal herself.

"Umm, well. She just ran? i think?" heh." N racks his memory files to see if he has any exact proof besides the trail of now erased footprints back at the spire. He came up empty, beginning to feel like this conversation wasn't going to be a five star experience anymore.

"She just, ran..? Bi annual holiday's are you low on oil or something!? How did that even happen you moron?!" J exclaims loudly, her hand griping the brim of her pilot cap as it always did when she got pissed.

Yeah, this conversation was definitely not a five star experience anymore, N thought quickly as he tried to come up with an excuse for his failing. Low on oil... he just got back from a hunt he definitely wasn't... wait?

N came to a realization as he mulled over the accusations his boss had flung at him, his eyes going wide as the disassembly drone began to wonder if Doll was right to question the company.

"Im not... low on oil, but not like i don't want to keep murdering these... worker drones and doing our job but... why, does the company never check in on us?" N spoke up, now starting to feel that everything was clicking into place. Had the company really abandoned them on this rock?

J rolled her eyes before answering him
"They have their reasons, Im sure their just busy running this sector to keep a consistent schedule is all. Hell we should be thankful they made us in the first place moron."

J wondered over to N's side, getting uncomfortably close before she continued.

"First you let a worker escape and now your questioning the company, I wonder what has gotten into you?"

"It's, just that. The worker from before might of... Made me think, what if the company.. Doesn't actually... love robots and well we ar-" N reasoned back to J as he shuffled slightly away from her before being cut off.

Doll kept listening, trying not to wince as she heard something stamp itself into N, a loud hissing emanating from it as he chuckled and fell to the ground.

"Heh, I've made a terrible mistake, It''s cool how i can... Immediately feel ittttttt" N's words began to blur and distort as the virus stamp took its toll on him, quickly overwhelming any antivirus that might of blocked a lesser form of malware from entering. Doll stayed silent as she was slightly overwhelmed by mixed feelings. She cheered for the supposed death of a monster but yet, this didn't sit right with her.

"The company is always right N, these workers are corrupted. just like you. See you in a few hours." J snarked at him before leaving through the hole in the ceiling.

After J was gone, Doll got up and went over to grab her crossbow before kneeling next to N and taking a look at his visor with concern. She didn't know why but their was a feeling of sadness from seeing him like this, twitching on the floor as he blue screened. The various lines of code making their busy travels across his visor and marking N as broken.

Surprisingly however was that he could still speak, even if it was more equated to a garbled mess of sounds more than a fully formed language. And so he did just that, stammering out an apology as the red lights shone down on the pair.

"He- ey, Doll. im- im sorry for, making you have a- a he- hero moment. With y- your mo-m." N attempted to look at her as he spoke but his head wouldn't really turn properly so he settled for continuing to stare at the roof.

Doll stayed silent, still conflicted as to what to do. She should just kill the drone and move on to try her luck with the other three, put a bolt through his heart and hope it works but he was even apologizing for what he did.

The worker drone turned away from N before fishing through her waist bag, pulling out a single shiny metal bolt. Its edge gleaming with long overdue purpose as she held it softly in her gloved hand. She thought hard on what to do, but only for a second before she was interrupted by N's poor attempt at speaking again.

"At at- lea-st thi--s ke- keep-s th- the p pink-y promise."

Doll turned back around to face him, leaning down next to him again before raising the bolt up above her head. It reflecting the red lights as the metal barb sat poised and ready to stab.

"Xуй." (Dick).
Doll sighed before she brought the bolt down slowly, taking a glance at the hole in the ceiling as she changed her mind.

"I'll be keeping that pinky promise." a small smile forming on her synthetic lips as she said this, feeling it to be right.

She then flicked her hair back before attempting to use the bolt to pry off the stamp and assuring N of his safety
"Now im not a mechanic but i have a rough idea of how to do this.".
