Red lights greeted Doll as she awoke inside her somewhat comfortable bed, Internal clock telling her that it was early morning as the long haired drone crawled out of bed. Of course, she wasn't really going anywhere important and could totally stay in bed as she had the day before. Turns out living in some form of concealed exile was having a run off effect on her. Doll's onesie covered foot touched down on the floor as the girl absentmindedly moved an arm to wake up her door's motion sensor, which was prone to ignoring her to a certain degree as it did now. The slab of steel staying put and causing Doll to groan slightly to herself before waving her hand in a half-assed action up at the half circle motion sensor. To which the door hissed open and the red eyed Russian recoiled slightly at the sight she had found her optics on.
The lounge room was a mess, somewhat a mess. It usually wasn't spotless with always a spare piece of clothing or a book left out on the floor, far from its usual home in the small library that lurked behind the dining table. Sometimes a second mattress had been pulled out, for some unknown reason the house had far more mattresses then were needed by the current residents. Normally. Now a grand total of four somewhat well kept mattresses had been scattered around the room like buoyed ships and made any hope of navigating the place significantly more annoying. Each sleeping spot occupied by a worker drone who looked mostly nonchalant in their rest as to have suddenly appeared in her home. Doll shook her head as if to dispel a fake memory but the workers didn't remove themselves from her reality, the girl frowning as she fully registered the bunch. Emily, Uzi, Thad and one other who she assumed to be Thad's sibling with how they shared the same visor colour and the fact Thad was sleeping on the mattress closest to her. Crowning this display of sleeping metal was Yeva, who was in fact not sleeping at all and instead focusing on something in her hands. Dim light emerging from the phone in her hands and visible to all of the drones within the room. Doll's mother having neglected to tell her about the onslaught of guests that now unintentionally constrained the girl to her own room.
Doll retreated the whole two steps back into her room again, padded feet due to her onesie making no noise as she did and the door shut softly. Leaving the girl with an unknown amount of time to basically waste. Something she had spent the last two weeks doing already and Doll couldn't deny the fact that doing near nothing had been getting to her, she found herself thinking of the cold outside or restarting school more and more.
Then a buzz sounded from her computer free desk, the one that was a part of her loft. Doll having managed to secure a second desk for her tech, which included the desktop computer that was perched apon the further desk. Doll tiredly looking over to see her phone flash once. A few seconds later and she had sat down on her worn office chair and checked the device.
{ 1 New Message, From - Mom }
Doll unlocked the device, its case feeling firm in her hands as the girl put her feet up on the chair without thinking, a personal habit of hers that Yeva had failed to make the younger girl grow out of.
{ From Mom - "... Sorry... but they had no where to go except here." }
{ Doll "im staying in my room then?" }
{ From Mom - "i guess that would be best, they are all your friends out here. correct?" }
{ Doll "uhm, yes" }
There was a few seconds of silence, the red eyed girl taking a breath as she waited.
{ From Mom - "I think they should be capable of keeping a secret." }
Doll rolled her eyes, she knew they probably wouldn't. Emily was horrid with secrets and the rest were better but they... They all had no reason to tell on her really she realised. Doll thinking on it as she replied to Yeva.
{ Doll - "Maybe, there is no reason for them to go and reveal my whole not banished act anyway" }
{ From Mom - "We still need to talk about that, Doll." }
Doll paused at the message, a small scowl forming on her face for a second before it vanished. She was about to send a reply when another message appeared on the device's cracked screen.
{ From Mom - "It can wait for later." }
Doll let out a breath she hadn't realised she was holding, glad that her inevitable judgement day was staved away for even a bit longer. Her hand easing its grip on the phone as she did, spinning the chair back to her lofts desk.
{ From Mom - "Only because im too tired to think straight. Taking a 20 minute nap, hopefully longer. Don't blow the house up. ;) " }
{ Doll - "I won't." }
The red eyed girl shot the text back with a quick collection of taps on her phone, resting the device on the table once she was done and sure that her mother wouldnt send another message back to her. Doll then glancing up, thinking as to what exactly to do while she waited for however long she had to. Would they be staying one night, three, a week? Was Yeva expecting her to waltz out there and keep them company or from investigating the rest of the house. Surely her mother had at least told Thad and co that they weren't allowed to mess with their current abode, or would common decency be thrown out to the wastes and an urge to explore take the four drones outside her door as soon as they were to be left unchecked.
Doll continued in her thoughts for a while longer, digital mind contemplating, minutes passing as her chair danced in lazy rotations, what was N up to, that Rebecca drone too, what was her deal? Why was the blue one so quick to turn on the other murder drones?
Doll sat upright. Was that a noise outside? Most likely not her concern, she was still unsure of even showing her face to the group outside. Her mind now rolled around on the simple fact, or observation really. She had killed a murder drone, even if it wasn't entirely her doing it had still took an effort that could only be described as draining in almost every sense. Doll could still vividly see the scene again in her mind, feel the hellish chill that descended upon her as if it was a hawk, hunting for prey and finding a small girl that stood stunned in front of a sudden revelation. Her progenitor laid dead, insides left to fruitlessly explore the ice frosted metal floor of the room. She was left with nothing but herself and her wits, those which had swiftly abandoned her as well when she reached for any help. The friend shaped illusions only guiding the scared girl towards an all consuming end.
Of course, that isnt what had happened but Doll couldn't shake away the feeling that it was frighteningly close to being the truth. That the scared girl that was surrounded by illusions and the spilt oil of her loved ones could of been real, could of been her. She hated that. Hated the cold internal winds that had rattled her very core, brought on by the nature perverted sight she had been literally dragged to witness.
But then the fountain of torment that spewed suffering from the dead head of the drone she had already killed once, that fountain ruptured, the demon scoured away by the heat of one of her fathers most rememberable items exploding. The heat was relieving, as it always was. Doll was a warmth lover at heart but this particular rise of temperature brought with it the realisation of both a final hopeful gambit on success and the knowledge of failure regardless. The bunker was emptier because of her, she could feel it in a way. Not that she had any confirmation on this exactly but the pure size of N's reincarnated crush had to amount to something of a kill count... Right?
Should i even be here still? The girl thought, alone in her room. These sorts of thoughts she detested, and so with no idea of exactly what to do Doll decided to simply distract herself. Continue with the quest she had neared the completion of over her week of seclusion, maybe even finish it so that Uzi would be less abrasive about the whole ordeal. Not like Uzi was ever not abrasive about anything, Doll thought.
So she turned around, quietly pushed her chair across the flat steel floor and began to set up to pass the time, all whilst outside something moved. That said something was Thad.
The green eyed drone waking up slowly, his sleep mode systems and function settings taking their sweet time to revert back to standard operation. Thad had a suspicion they were taking extra slow, probably something to do with the late night yesterday. The onslaught of activities that stemmed from the revelation that Emily's mom, who had been taking care of Thad and his siblings for the last week, had gotten blackout drunk and was no longer considered responsible enough to stay with. At least by the other older drone, Kelsey. Thus, he, his older sister Thera, Emily and Uzi.
Who they had made a detour to pit stop at her should be abandoned yet isn't house to collect, Thad remembering vividly the utter shock on her face as Yeva plus the three of them arrived on her doorstep. Emily practically falling asleep so much that Thera had ended up half carrying her back, which was somewhat of a hassle considering they were carrying a fair amount of stuff with them. Both Yeva's hands full with pillows to the point she had asked Thad to knock instead. Had all ended up at Yeva's house... Or well, almost all of them.
Uzi seemingly falling flat on the promise that she wouldn't deter from eventually turning up at the red eyed family's abode. As the girl had asked for at least a few minutes to pack, those which yeva had granted and herself departed for the heater warmed den of a household Thad would probably be spending the next day or two in. Then. Uzi simply hadn't shown up before Yeva fell asleep. Which had resulted in a very memorable interaction between him and her when he decided to go check on the girl.
After his systems had fully woken up Thad rolled over on the slightly to springy mattress, facing away from the matted aegean coloured hair of his older sister. Blinking to disperse more of his sleepiness as he did, then he checked the time and with a slight annoyance that was sprinkled with what could only be called. Of course it had to happen vibes. As Thad had just took note of the fact that, it was 8AM. Not that that particular time was of any concern usually, however for the green eyed drone as well as the other four younger drones in the house. School would be starting soon and that meant Thad would be required to wake the others from their scant length of rest and thrust them back into the day to day life they had. So that's what he did, quietly untangling himself from the sheets as he went to poke his sister awake and dooming her to the task of a normal day in the bunker.
