The next day when Steve and Eddie were in history Eddie looked over at Steve contemplating if it's weird to ask him to come watch him play at his first ever gig because of how early Into the relationship they were.

He finally looks at Steve and blurts out "I got my first ever gig to play guitar in front of like forty people, I know it's not much but it's big for me and I was wondering..do you want to come? You obviously don't have to and-"

Steve covers eddies mouth with his hand "I'd love too, it's a date then" he smiles moving his hand away from eddies mouth "you freak out too much" he laughs as he looks back down at his history notes.

"Okay I'll drive you to mines after school and we can get ready" he says smiling to himself, he looks away from Steve so he doesn't look like he's going soft for someone like Steve harrington.

"But what about my clothes-" Eddie interrupts him "trust me you don't want to be wearing your dad clothes going to a concert im playing at, I mean you know my music taste so you can add two and two together you're a big boy Stevie" he laughs

Steve sighs dramatically leaning on the desk "you're lucky I'm a supportive boyfriend and will sit through it for you, but you'll be amazing I know that" he says putting his books in his bag.

Steve was walking down the hall during lunch to get to the cafeteria when he bumps into the guys that are far worse than Jason. "Aw sorry man" he mumbled trying to walk away but Adam grabs his arm.

"There's word going around that you're a little gay boy but I thought that couldn't be Steve harrington until I saw how close you are with that little freak Munson" he says pushing him just trying to get on Steve's nerves.

"You see me talking to a guy and you immediately think I'm gay that's really saying something about you Adam" he scoffs about to walk off when he says "didn't get enough love from your parents did you?"

When Steve had his back turned Adam said "atleast my parents are still around harrington." This made Steve swing around and punch him in a jaw.

This ended up with Steve and Adam in the principals office but nobody listened to Steve's side because who's going to care about homophobia in the 80s? Clearly not anyone in Hawkins.

So Steve left the school being suspended for two days and a black eye. It was the end of the day by the time they got out of the principal's office so Steve just got in eddies car.

"Holy shit what happened to you? Was it Jason because I swear to god if it was-" he says ready to open up the car door and walk back into the school

Steve grabs his arm "it's not Jason it was Adam, he started a fight because there's rumours going around that I'm gay but I was about to walk away and he said shit about my parents and I..I just lost it" Steve said covering his face with his hands.

"Fucking bastards they all are" Eddie says under his breath and starts driving before he gets back out of that car to start a fight with Adam "if you want me to fight him I will, he'll have much worse than a black eye Steve"

Steve shakes his head "nah seriously it's okay I had no reason to lose it that easily" he sighs looking out the window but that familiar feeling starts coming back. The feeling that Steve could feel his head spinning and everything started getting foggy in his head.

Everything that Eddie was saying starts to get muffled "c-can you just give me a minute?" He chokes out as he sits in the car for ten minutes before walking into eddies trailer.

"I'm sorry that happens sometimes I don't know why, it happened a lot when I had trouble sleeping" he shrugs sitting down on the couch

Eddie nods and sits down beside him "I feel like that sometimes when I'm talking about my parents I think you just miss them Steve, you don't talk about them" he says softly

Steve nods looking over at eddie, he looked like he genuinely cared, like he was worried for Steve. "There's nothing to say..they'll come home soon they're probably just busy or something, that happens sometimes"

Eddie sighs knowing that wasn't the case and he knew Steve knew that too "Steve, they've been gone for three months.."

They both sit there in silence for a moment before Steve just sighs looking at the ground "I know eddie, I know"
