Freya woke up to someone lightly shaking her shoulder, "Freya. We're almost there," spoke a soft feminine voice she soon recognised as Padme's. She sat up and stretched her arms. Had she really slept the whole way?

"Where's Ani?" she asked when she didn't see her brother, which she thought was odd. She'd expected him to become her shadow.

"He's in the cockpit," Padme replied, tilted her head, raising her eyebrows, 'that explains it,' she thought to herself, "Why don't you go have a look? Makes a change from sand," the young girl took up Padme's suggestion and headed towards the cockpit where she found her brother annoying the poor pilot.

"Whoa," Freya breathed when she finally looked through the window. Monstrous skyscrapers towered over the planet's surface and a tide of speeders flew through the air, the most traffic that the twins had ever seen in their lives.

"The entire planet is one big city," the pilot spoke as he turned to look at the girl. He flew the ship towards a landing platform where one person was stood. More coming from a shuttle parked beside the platform, "There's Chancellor Valorum's shuttle. And look over there. Senator Palpatine is waiting for us,"

The shuttle then emptied, the jedi in front. Anakin and Freya stayed as close to them as possible. They bowed to the Senator and the Chancellor. Anakin copied them immediately, Freya hesitated and bowed with Jar Jar. They stepped aside to let the Queen pass as she headed to the two men.

"It is a great gift to see you alive, Your Majesty." the Senator smiled at her, "With the communications breakdown, we've been very concerned," Anakin and Freya stood in front of Qui-Gon as they watched the interaction in front of them. Padme looked over at the two and smiled from her spot beside the Queen. They smiled back. Freya was nervous about meeting the council. What would happen if they didn't allow her to train. If she wasn't to be a Jedi then what would happen to her? She drowned out the rest of the conversation as their voices were drowned by the ones in her head. Before she knew what was going on, she found herself walking towards a shuttle that was waiting for them.  She still couldn't hear their voices over the questions swirling in her mind. The sound of her brother's name being called pulled her from her thoughts and she looked around to find him looking back at the two Jedi who weren't coming with them.

"Ani. Come on," Padme told him, gesturing for him to follow them onto the shuttle. Anakin looked back once more only to receive the same gesture from Qui-Gon. Anakin climbed onto the shuttle, sitting next to Jar Jar, who was sat beside his sister.

"The queen's a bein' grossly nice, mesa tinks," Jar Jar told the young boy as he sat down, the shuttle began to fly away from the platform, "Pitty hot,"

The twins were stood outside a room, decorated completely red even the handmaidens were wearing red. The queen, however, was dressed in white. She was currently talking about politics with Senator Palpatine. Jar Jar knelt beside them as they waited for them to finish.

Meanwhile, Qui-Gon and Obi Wan were at the Jedi Temple informing the council about the dark attacker. They both stood in a circular room, 12 Jedi sat around them.

"He was trained in the Jedi arts," Qui-Gon informed, looking around at the Jedi in his view, "My only conclusion can be that it was a Sith lord,"

"Impossible," Ki-Adi-Mundi spoke immediately from his seat, "The Sith have been extinct for a Milennium," he looked down at the smaller, green Master beside him. Master Yoda.

"I do not believe that the Sith could have returned without us knowing," Mace Windu added from the other side of Yoda.

"Ah, hard to see, the dark side is," Yoda inputted looking at the man who had just spoken before looking back at Qui-Gon.

"We will use all our resources to unravel this mystery. We will discover the identity of your attacker. May the Force be with you" Mace Windu said, bringing the meeting to a close. Both Qui-Gon and Obi Wan bow to the Jedi. Obi Wan walks towards the door, stopping when Master Yoda spoke up again.

"Master Qui-Gon. More to say, have you," Yoda asked as Qui-Gon still stood in the middle of the room. Obi Wan stayed at his spot beside the door as he watched his Master continue the meeting.

"With your permission, my Master," he started, crossing his arms, "I have encountered a vergence in the Force."

"A vergence, you say?" Master Yoda asked, leaning forward slightly in his chair.

"Located around a person?" Mace Windu asked

"Two. Twins. Their cells have the highest midi-chlorians I have seen in a life-form" Qui-Gon replied, "It is possible they were conceived by the midi-chlorians,"

"You refer to the prophecy of the one who will bring balance to the Force. You believe it's these twins? Both of them?" asked Mace Windu

"I don't presume to-"

"But you do. Revealed your opinion is." Master Yoda interrupted, pointing his small green finger at the long haired Jedi.

Qui-Gon took a deep breath before responding, "I request they be tested, Master,"

"Trained as Jedi you request for them, hmm," Master Yoda asked with a mellow voice.

"Finding them was the will of the Force. I have no doubt of that," the council exchange some looks in the silence.

"Bring them before us then," Mace Windu spoke reluctantly. Qui-Gon bows before leaving the council chamber with his padawan.

It was finally time for the two twins to go to the council. This was it but they had to make a stop. Anakin wanted to see Padme before they went.

"The twins are here to see Padme," the guard spoke into his comlink.

"Let him in," a voice sounded from the small device in his hands.

The doors opened and they walked in to find another handmaiden waiting on the other side for them, "I'm sorry, but Padme's not here right now," she told the children softly. The queen then entered asking who it was, "The Skywalkers to see Padme, Your Highness," the young handmaiden replied.

"I've sent Padme on an errand."

"We're on our way to the Jedi temple to start our trained, I hope. I may never see her again so I came to say good-bye."

"We were tell her for you. We are sure her heart goes with you," the queen responded.

"Thank you, Your Highness," the twins bowed to the queen before heading out the door and making their way to the temple.

The girl walked in after her brother came out, "Welcome, young one," a male Jedi greeted, "I am Master Windu. I'm going to hold this screen, all you have to do is tell me what's on it," Freya nodded at the man's instructions, taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes. Her nerves melted away as she focused on the task set for her.

"Sabre, speeder, starship, blaster, shuttle," Freya listed, her eyes closed as she focused on the testing screen in one of the Master's hands. He lowered the screen and nodded to his fellow Masters.

"How do you feel, young one?" Master Mundi asked from her left, she looked towards him before she answered.

"Nervous," she replied honestly, they could probably sense her nervousness so why bother lying about it?

"You are honest, that is a desirable trait for a Jedi," Mace Windu commented with a smile on his face. This girl was different to her brother, he could sense it. They all could.

"Afraid are you?" Master Yoda inquired, his gaze set firmly on the girl, as if he was analysing her behaviour.

"No, Master," she replied. She wasn't afraid, she was nervous, sure but not afraid.

"We sensed great fear in your brother, young one," Master Mundi revealed. Freya didn't know what that meant for his future though, "His thoughts dwell on your mother,"

"Scared to lose her, he is," Master Yoda added.

"Yes, masters. We had to leave her behind however this is what she wanted for us. To live our lives without being tied to a single planet for the rest of our time. If an opportunity presents itself you should take it." she told them, she will miss her mother but she's not afraid to lose her. She believed her mother was smart and strong. She will be alright on her own, "I will respect your decision, whether you decide to train us or not," she smiled, looking at each face in the room.

"Wise words from one so young. A very mature answer. Not one we'd expect from one your age," Master Mundi commented, Freya smiled at the Jedi before returning her gaze to the smaller, green Jedi.

"Ready, we are, to bring Master Qui-Gon back," Master Yoda spoke, the young girl bowed to the Jedi.

"I will get him, Master," she spoke as she headed for the door.

***

"The Force is strong with them," Master Mundi agreed, his voice soft and smooth.

"They are to be trained then?" Qui-Gon asked. Freya wasn't sure whether that was supposed to be a question or a statement. She looked over to the two Jedi who seemed to speak the most.

"The boy will not be trained but the girl will be trained," Mace Windu responded. Freya felt sadness and anger beside her, she knew it was from Anakin. She was shocked and a little guilty that they only wanted to train her. She didn't know why.

"No?" Qui-Gon asked, confusion laced in his voice. He placed his hands on his hips as he took a step forward.

Mace Windu's face held no emotion as he looked at the Jedi, "He is too old. There is already too much anger in him." he then looked towards the female Skywalker, "Freya may be his age but she is in control of her emotions,"

"Clouded, this boy's future is." Yoda explained further, looking at Qui-Gon who's face held surprise that they were not accepting him.

Qui-Gon looked around at the other members of the Jedi Council, but everyone agreed with what both Master Windu and Master Yoda had said, "Very well. I will train him then. I take Anakin Skywalker as my Padawan apprentice." he spoke as he held Anakin's shoulders.

Freya could feel the shock and slight hurt that Obi Wan felt as his Master spoke those words. She also felt the sudden flare of hope from her brother. Qui-Gon felt this also but he kept his attention aimed at the Council.

"An apprentice, you have, Qui-Gon," Yoda pointed out, "Impossible, to take on a second."

"The code forbids it," Mace Windu divulged.

"Obi-Wan is ready," Qui-Gon declared, his voice firm.

Obi Wan stepped forward to aid his master despite his sadness over his Master's previous words, "I am ready to face the trials!"

Yoda shook his small head. "Our own counsel we will keep on who is ready,"

"Obi-Wan is headstrong, and he has much to learn still about the living Force, but he is capable. There is little more he will learn from me."

"Young Skywalker's fate will be decided later."

"Now is not the time for this," Mace Windu stated as he leant forward in his seat, "The Senate is voting for a new Supreme Chancellor and Queen Amidala is returning home, which will put pressure on the Federation, and could widen the confrontation"

"And draw out the Queen's attacker," Master Mundi added.

"Go with the Queen to Naboo and discover the identity of the dark warrior. That is the clue we need to unravel this mystery of the Sith." Windu instructed, leaning back in his chair.

"May the Force be with you." Yoda spoke signalling the end of the discussion. The two Jedi and the twins bowed to them and left the room. Qui-Gon had deeply hurt Obi Wan, not intentionally of course but still hurt him and he could sense it. They all headed back towards the landing platform. The city was now engulfed in night and was even more magical with the skyscrapers illuminating the dark sky.

Freya walked beside Obi Wan, looking up at him she gave him a small smile to which he returned. He soon realised that the girl could sense exactly what he was feeling and he was somewhat grateful for her kindness even if it was just a smile. Master Windu was right, she was in control of her emotions, and more it seems. Anakin hadn't looked at Freya since they said that they only wanted to train her. It seemed Obi Wan and Qui-Gon weren't the only ones with a rift between them.

Obi Wan noticed this and decided to repay the kindness, "He'll come around, don't worry," the young girl looked up at him with questioning eyes.

"Will you?" she asked him, receiving a confused glance so she continued, "Come around? You know, with Mr Qui-Gon,"

The younger Jedi nodded, "It'll take time but yes, I will," he smiled before heading over to his Master. The male Skywalker was crouched beside the blue and white droid as he listened to the two Jedi speak. Freya debated on whether to try and talk to him but decided against it, giving him some space and boarded the ship.

"It is not disrespect, Master, it is the truth." Obi Wan spoke strongly, trying to make his mentor see sense but Qui-Gon wasn't having any of it.

"From your point of view," Qui-Gon's face was filled with irritation.

The younger Jedi continued to try to reason with him, "The boy is dangerous. They all sense it. Why can't you?"

"His fate is uncertain, but he is not dangerous," Qui-Gon spoke curtly. "The Council will decide Anakin's future. That should be enough for you." he briefly looked at his apprentice, "Now get on board!" Obi-Wan  reluctantly walked away and up the ramp into the ship. Qui-Gon turned to Anakin, and the boy walked up to him.

"Qui-Gon, sir" he said, standing from beside the droid, his face riddled with guilt, "I don't want to be a problem."

Qui-Gon crouched down to his level, placing a hand on his shoulder. "You won't be, Ani." He glanced toward the ship, then knelt before the boy. "I'm not allowed to train you, so I want you to watch me instead and be mindful of what you see. Always remember, your focus determines your reality. Stay close to me, and you will be safe." the queen's shuttle pulls up along side the platform, the queen and company begin to exit the shuttle. Anakin asked Qui-Gon about midi-chlorians.

Qui-Gon smiled at the young boy's question, "Midi-chlorians are microscopic life-forms that resides within all living cells,"

"They live inside of me?" the boy asked.

"In your cells, yes. We are symbionts with them." Qui-Gon continued to explain which only confused the boy more.

"Symbi-what?" Anakin questioned.

"Symbionts. Life-forms living together for mutual advantage. Without the midichlorians, life could not exist, and we would have no knowledge of the Force. They continually speak to us, telling us the will of the Force. When you learn to quiet your mind, you will hear them speaking to you."

Anakin frowned. "I don't understand."

Qui-Gon smiled, "With time and training, Ani, you will." he stood from his crouching position as the Queen and her handmaidens approached them, "Your Highness," he greeted with a respectful bow of his head. "It will be our pleasure to continue to serve and protect you."

Queen Amidala nodded as she began to walk towards her ship, "I welcome your help. Senator Palpatine fears the Federation means to destroy me."

"I assure you, I will not allow that to happen," the Jedi promised as he strode along side her to the ship. The Queen's handmaidens and Captain Panaka followed her up the ramp and onto the awaiting transport.

Jar Jar, who was standing beside the ramp, threw his hands in the air, "Weesa goen home!" he cheered as Anakin made his way towards the transport, R2 following close behind as they went up the ramp. When he entered the ship, he found Freya sat beside Padme, talking. He was still a little hurt by what had happened but she was still his sister. He walked over to sit beside her, earning a smile from the girl and a smug, know-it-all look from the younger Jedi as she looked at him.

Padme told them the journey was going to be shorter than the one from Tatooine. Anakin had made his way into the cockpit again to annoy the pilot some more and Freya had challenged Captain Panaka to a game of Sabacc. He soon gave up when the girl continued to beat him. The two Jedi sat on a nearby table observing the game. The youngest stood and sat down opposite the girl, "I'll play." he challenged, placing his clasped hands on the table. She shuffled the cards before placing one card in front of herself and the Jedi and then another. Many games later, Obi Wan had not won one hand and he couldn't figure out why, his master, on the other hand, knew why he wasn't winning. He raised his eyes at his apprentice and watched as realisation hit him. He turned back to the girl, "You're cheating, aren't you?"

The young girl placed a hand over her heart, feigning hurt, "I would never," Obi Wan shook his head with a chuckle before standing from the table. Captain Panaka then received a message that they were almost at Naboo. Him and the Jedi then started to leave the area, Qui-Gon told the girl that they'd be back soon, so she sat back down at the table placing the cards she had been sitting on onto the table in front of her.
