"Are you okay Sky?"Brian asked a little bit on the rode. "Just asking, because you keep fidgeting with your hands."Brian added. "Yeah, just lived one outside of the foster home, but was put back in."I said. "If you're worried that I'd put you back in the system. I'd never to that."Brian said looking at me. "Can you look at the road and not me?"I asked. "Yeah, but can I ask you why."he said. "The first people who adopted me died in a car crash with me in the car."I said. He looked at me with a worried look then back at the road. "I still have nightmares of that night."I added. "Don't worry. I'll never do that to you."Brian said. I nodded and looked out the window wiping tears off my face as Brain pulled into a parking space into a space in front of the home.

I got out of the jeep and started to walk to the stairs with Brian behind me. He helped me up the stairs. Meaning he put his hand on my back so I wouldn't fall on my back. I opened the door and you could hear all the kids playing with each other. "Skylar is that you?"Miss Peterson yelled from the kitchen. "Yes."I said as I heard some kids running to where I was. "Skylar!"Alice yelled running to give me a hug. "How are you today Alice?"I asked. "Amazing, now that you're here."she said looking up at me. She's 4'5. So way smaller than me, because I'm 5'5. I walked to the living room to see Ethan trying to split April and Gavin. Gavin was almost on top of April and April was in tears. Ethan had Gavin in his arms. "April, come here."I said. I was sitting on the floor. When she sat in my lap I started to rock back and forth on the floor and brushed her hair. "Can you tell me what happened?"I asked. "I was watching TV when April came in and sat down on the couch."Gavin said. "That doesn't mean you can hurt her."I said. I knew that Brian and Miss.Peterson were watching us in the doorway. "Tell April that your sorry and give her a hug."I said. "I'm sorry."Gavin said hugging her. when there hug was done she punched April ran over and started kicking me. I pulled her to the ground and laid on top of her.

"April, are you okay?"I asked. She nodded. "Are you okay?"Ethan asked. I nodded. She was kicking me in my sides and that was really painful, but I've been through worse. "Please, start behaving."I said still on her. "Only if you get off me."She said. I got off her and started to tickle her. "Stop....please."she said laughing. I stopped and she ran to the bathroom. I started to laugh myself when Rachel walked into the room. "Skylar, I need your help upstairs."she said. "Uh, I'm kind of stuck down here."I said. "I'll fix that. Ava!"she yelled. She picked me up from the floor and Ava grabbed my brunches. "Rachel, put me down!"I yelled as she brought me upstairs.

*Brian's View*

When a blond girl came into the room Skylar didn't look happy for a little bit. "Rachel, put me down!"Skylar yelled as the blond girl ran up the stairs. I could hear Skylar laughing and that made me laugh. "Would I be able to adopted Skylar?"I asked after I calmed down. "Yeah, you can follow me."the lady said. I was so happy that I could give her a home.

*Sky's View*

"Rachel, why did you want me to come here?"I asked when she brought me to our room. "I have a date and I need your help to pick out what to wear."Rachel said. "Are you kidding me. That's why you brought me up here?"I asked. "Yeah."she said. I smiled. "Show me what you have."I said waving her off. She showed me two dresses. "The first dress."I said when there was a knock on the door. "Sky, can you pack your things you've been adopted."Miss. Peterson said. I nodded. "We'll help you."Ethan said grabbing my school backpack and put it on his back. Rachel was packing my cloths and Ava was packing my other things like my books and sketch books.It didn't take to long.

Rachel, put on the cloths bag on her back and grabbed me off of the bed. Ava, had my other stuff bag and the crutches for me. Ethan still has my school bag. Brain was there at the bottom of the stairs with the foster mom. "Hey Sky."Miss. Peterson said. "Hey."I said when Rachel put me down and Ava handed me my crutches. I put them under my arms as Brian grabbed my three bags. I said good bye to all of them and hoped carefully into his red jeep.

"Are you ready to see your new home?"Brian asked. I nodded and buckled the seat. He smiled and looked at the road while driving of. "Are you okay with cats?"Brian asked. I nodded. "How many do you have?"I asked. "Three."he said. I smiled with him.

When his jeep starts to slow down I looked out the windows. "You ready to see your new room?"Brian asked. I nodded and opened the door. I got out of the jeep as Brian got all my bags. "Do you need help with bags?"I asked. "No, don't worry. I got it."he said. I nodded and followed him to a big house. I gulped and kept on going. "Right this way."Brian said unlocking the front door. Right inside on the steps that goes to the next floor was a cat. "That's Brooklyn."Brian said pointing to the cat. As he said that the cat jumped from the stair and started to circle around my good leg with the tail up. "I think he likes you."Brian said putting the bags down to pick Brooklyn up. He brought him close so I could pet him, because it's hard to bend down. I smiled and pet him.

"I don't have a room ready yet, but I have a guest room you can stay in until a room is ready."he said putting Brooklyn back down on the ground. I nodded and looked around the room. "Let me show you the rest of the house."he said walking to the right side of the house. When I followed him he showed me the rest of the first floor. The kitchen, bathroom, living room, and the dining room.

He then carefully helped me up the stairs to show me the rest of the house. "Oh, that Chessie and Benjamin."Brian said when we got to the last step to see two more cats. Chessie looks like Brooklyn and Benjamin is all black. I smiled as Brian picked up Chessie and showed me the rest of the house. The guest room, where my room will be, the bathroom, and a TV room upstairs. In a little bit after that Brian brought my bags upstairs to the guest room he showed me.

That night he brought me to a pizza place. "So, I was thinking. Tomorrow, we can go out shopping. Get some paint and anything else you might want for your room to make it your own."Brian said taking a bite of pizza. I nodded and took a bite of mine. "Is everything okay? You're barely talking."Brian said. "I don't talk that much and having a family is new for me. Having someone that cares about you and if you get hurt that will be there for you."I said staring at my pizza. "Hey, it's okay. You have me now and I'll drop everything to be there for you."he said. I smiled and finished supper.

That night I fell asleep like a light when my head hit the pillow. Benjamin was on my right side.I knew that my life would be amazing right now.
