The sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow across the room. Dev stirred in bed, a throbbing headache pounding at his temples. He groaned, rubbing his eyes as the events of the previous night came rushing back to him in fragmented flashes. The party, the drinking, Angad bringing him home-it all seemed like a distant, hazy dream.

Navya quietly entered the room, carrying a glass of lemonade. She approached Dev's bedside, her steps tentative and her heart heavy with the anticipation of his reaction. She handed him the glass, her eyes filled with concern.

Navya: "Here, drink this. It will help with the headache."

Dev looked at her, his expression hardening. He took the glass, but his eyes remained cold.

Dev: "Good that you didn't utilize my drunken state like last time."

Navya's heart sank at his words, the familiar sting of his accusation piercing through her. She looked down, unable to meet his gaze.

Navya: "Dev, I was only trying to help."

Dev's anger flared, his voice sharp and bitter.

Dev: "I hate myself and that day for touching you. It's a memory I wish I could erase."

Navya's grip tightened around the glass she held, her knuckles turning white. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself.

Navya: "I understand that you hate what happened, Dev. But I never wanted things to go that way either. You were drunk and confused.

I tried to stop you."Dev scoffed, his eyes narrowing.

Dev: "Stop lying to yourself, Navya. You wanted it. You took advantage of the situation."

Navya's eyes filled with tears, but she forced herself to speak calmly.

Navya: "Dev, I have always loved you. But I would never want our relationship to start on such a painful note. I didn't take advantage of you."

Dev turned away, his anger still simmering.

Dev: "I don't want to talk about it anymore. Just leave me alone."

Navya nodded, her heart heavy with the weight of his words. She turned to leave the room, pausing at the doorway to look back at him one last time.

Navya: "I'll always be here for you, Dev. Even if you can't see it now."

Dev stood in front of the mirror, tying his tie with practiced efficiency. His mind churned with the events of his past , his interactions with Hina and the haunting memories of his life without her that seemed to follow him everywhere

Ayaan, bounded into the room, his face lit up with excitement.

Ayaan: "Pappa, can you come to the park with me and Mumma today? My friends tease me that my Pappa doesn't love me because you never come with us."

Dev paused, his hands freezing in midair. He turned to look at Ayaan, his expression clouded with frustration.

Dev: "Ayaan, I have important work to do. I can't just drop everything and go to the park whenever you want."

Ayaan's face fell, disappointment etched across his features.

Ayaan: "But Pappa, all my friends' dads come to the park with them. Why can't you?"

Dev with frustration bubbling to the surface.

Dev: "Because I have responsibilities, Ayaan. Responsibilities that are more important than going to the park."

Ayaan's lower lip trembled, his eyes filling with unshed tears.

Ayaan: "But Mumma says spending time with family is important too. She always waits for you to come home."

Dev's temper flared, his own insecurities and guilt fueling his words.

Dev: "Your Mumma wouldn't understand, Ayaan. She doesn't come from a family that understands priorities. She doesn't know what it means to work hard."

Ayaan blinked, confusion and hurt evident in his young eyes. Dev turned away, his jaw clenched with frustration and regret.

Dev: "I have to go to work now. Tell your Mumma I'll be late tonight."

Without another word, Dev stormed out of the room, leaving Ayaan standing there, his heart heavy with disappointment and confusion. He didn't understand why his Pappa didn't want to spend time with him and Mumma like his friends' dads did. All he knew was that it hurt, deep down inside, where his love for his Pappa still burned bright.

Navya, who had overheard the exchange from the kitchen, felt her heart break for both Dev and Ayaan. She had hoped that Dev would one day see the importance of being present in their son's life, but his stubbornness and pain seemed to blind him to everything else.

Navya found Ayaan sitting in his room, his face buried in his favorite teddy bear, tears streaming down his cheeks. Her heart broke at the sight of her son's sorrow, and she quietly entered, sitting beside him on the bed.

Navya: "Hey, my brave boy. What's troubling you?"

Ayaan looked up, his eyes red and watery, but filled with trust in his mother's comforting presence.

Ayaan: "Pappa doesn't want to come to the park with us, Mumma. I don't understand why."

Navya took Ayaan's hand in hers, holding it gently.

Navya: "Oh sweetheart, Pappa loves you so much. Sometimes, grown-ups have worries and things they need to figure out. It doesn't mean he loves you any less."

Ayaan sniffled, leaning into his mother's warmth.

Ayaan: "But I miss playing with him, Mumma. All my friends have their dads with them.".

Navya hugged Ayaan tightly, her embrace offering solace and reassurance.

Navya: "I understand, my love. It's okay to feel sad about it. But remember, you have me. And I will always be here for you, no matter what."

Ayaan nodded, wiping his tears with the back of his hand. He looked up at Navya with eyes filled with love and trust.

Ayaan: "I love you, Mumma."

Navya smiled, brushing a tear from her own eye.

Navya: "I love you too, Ayaan. More than words can ever say."

They stayed in each other's embrace for a while longer, the bond between them palpable and unbreakable. Navya knew that her love and support were the pillars that Ayaan leaned on, just as much as he was her source of strength and purpose.

Navya: "How about we do something special together today? Maybe we can bake some cookies or build a fort in the living room?"

A spark of excitement lit up Ayaan's eyes, and he nodded eagerly.

Ayaan: "Yes, let's build the biggest fort ever!"

Navya chuckled, feeling her heart lighten at the sight of Ayaan's smile.

Navya: "Alright, let's do it! We'll make today unforgettable."

Hand in hand, they left the room, their laughter echoing through the house as they embarked on their adventure together. In that moment, Navya knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, their love would always be their guiding light, brightening even the darkest of days.

Dev sat in his office, the bustling sounds of the workplace fading into the background as he stared at the framed photograph on his desk. It was a picture of Hina, her smile radiant and her eyes full of life. He ran his fingers over the frame, a deep sigh escaping his lips.

Dev: (whispering) "Hina, I miss you so much."

He leaned back in his chair, the memories of their time together flooding his mind. The laughter, the shared dreams, the plans for a future that was never meant to be. He felt a lump form in his throat, the weight of his emotions pressing down on him.

Dev: "I hate her, Hina. I hate Navya because it was because of her that I had to leave you."

He clenched his fist, his knuckles turning white as the anger and pain surfaced once again.

Dev: "If it weren't for Navya, I wouldn't have been forced to marry someone I didn't love. I would still have you."

The tears that had been threatening to fall finally spilled over, and Dev wiped them away angrily.

Dev: "Why did it have to be this way? Why did you have to leave me? And why did I have to end up with someone like Navya?"
He looked at the photo, his vision blurred by his tears.

Dev: "I feel trapped, Hina. Trapped in a life that I never wanted, with a woman who isn't you."

He buried his face in his hands, the emotional turmoil leaving him exhausted.

The gentle melody of Navya's lullaby filled the dimly lit room as she rocked Ayaan to sleep. His little eyelids fluttered, his breathing slowing to a peaceful rhythm. Navya's voice was soft and soothing, a tender balm for her son's weariness. As she sang, the front door opened, and Dev stepped inside, looking exhausted and frustrated. The melody reached his ears, and his expression darkened as he headed toward the source of the sound.

Dev: "Can't you just stop singing?"

Navya looked up, startled by the harshness in his voice. She continued to rock Ayaan gently, trying to maintain the calm atmosphere for her son.

Navya: "Dev, I'm just putting Ayaan to sleep. He likes it when I sing to him."

Dev's eyes flashed with irritation, his words biting and cold.

Dev: "It's irritating me after a long day at the office. It's just a hell entering inside after hearing your voice."

Navya felt a pang of hurt at his words, but she swallowed her emotions, focusing on Ayaan, who was now half-asleep in her arms.

Navya: "I'm sorry, Dev. I'll be quieter."Dev scoffed, shaking his head.

Dev: "Why can't you understand? I need peace when I come home, not your incessant singing."

Navya's heart ached, but she kept her voice calm and composed for Ayaan's sake.

Navya: "I understand you're tired, Dev. I'll make sure to keep the noise down."

Ayaan stirred slightly, sensing the tension in the room. Navya kissed his forehead, humming softly to reassure him. She looked at Dev, her eyes pleading for understanding.

Navya: "Dev, I know things are difficult, but Ayaan needs us. He needs both of us to be strong for him."

Dev's expression softened for a moment as he looked at his son, but his frustration quickly returned.

Dev: "I don't want to argue about this, Navya. Just do as I say."

With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Navya feeling more isolated and hurt than before. She continued to rock Ayaan, her voice now barely above a whisper, tears silently streaming down her cheeks.

As Ayaan finally drifted off to sleep, Navya gently laid him in his bed and tucked him in. She stood there for a moment, watching his peaceful face, drawing strength from his innocence and love.

###############################

Navya stood in the balcony, the cool breeze carrying with it a sense of solace. She gazed up at the stars, her heart heavy with sorrow and her eyes brimming with tears.

Navya: (whispering) "I know you hate me, Dev, but what is the fault of this small soul, Ayaan?"

Her voice trembled as she spoke, the pain she had kept bottled up now spilling out into the quiet night.

Navya: "He deserves a father's love. He looks up to you so much, but you... you're not ready to accept him as your own."

A tear rolled down her cheek, glistening in the starlight before falling silently to the ground..

Navya: "I try so hard to keep everything together, to be both mother and father to him. But he needs you, Dev. He needs your love, your guidance."

She clutched the railing, her knuckles turning white with the intensity of her grip.

Navya: "Why can't you see how much he adores you? Every time you push him away, a part of his little heart breaks. And mine breaks with it."

Navya looked up at the stars, searching for some sign, some hope in the vast expanse of the night sky.

Navya: "I wish you could see him the way I do. He's such a bright, loving child. He has your eyes, Dev. Every time I look at him, I'm reminded of you."

She closed her eyes, the tears flowing freely now.

Navya: "I love you, Dev. Despite everything, I love you. And I hope that someday you would love us too. But this wall you've built around your heart... it's hurting all of us."

Navya took a deep breath, her voice barely a whisper.

Navya: "Please, Dev. For Ayaan's sake, try to let go of the past. Atleast Give hom a chance. Give him the father he deserves."

As she stood there, pouring her heart out to the silent night, she felt a strange sense of relief. Though she knew the road ahead was fraught with challenges, she also knew that her love for Ayaan and her hope for a better future would keep her strong. She wiped away her tears, resolved to face whatever came next with the same unwavering strength she had always shown.
