You and Shuri are spending new years eve at Tony's for a party. Shuri has something up her sleeve to make it extra special for you both. At least Shuri hopes that'll be the case. 

A/N - Sorry I've not posted in a while, I had to finish my university assignment and I've had other family members at home for the last few days. Also, I forgot I had this one waiting to be published haha, anyways, hope you enjoy! 

Me and my girlfriend currently stand surrounded by some of our closest friends who are also Avengers. Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes, Natasha Romanoff, Clint Barton, Bruce Banner and Wanda Maximoff are just a few that are present at Tony's new year's eve party. Apparently, this is supposed to be one of the best parties Tony has ever thrown. Not sure why since it just seems like another party. But either way, both me and Shuri are having a good time just catching up with everyone. 

I've been talking to Wanda about some of the stuff that has been going on in Wakanda. Shuri was having a conversation with Bucky and Steve. But what really intrigued me is that they all kept looking back at me every now and then. I wonder why. Especially when Shuri saw I was looking over at them, they decided to move else where. Hmm. Now I'm really interested in what's going on with them. I knew Wanda could read minds and wondered if she happened to be reading theirs. "Any idea what that was about?" I asked Wanda. She just shrugged her shoulders as though she was clueless. Surely she must have been lying to me? But why would she? She's one of my best friends. Hmm, guess I better go and see what's up with Shuri myself. But just as I looked back over at them, they had disappeared. Okay, something is definitely up and it's not me being paranoid, surely. 

So, I place the drink I forgot I had in my hand back to the bar and make my way through the crowd to find my girlfriend. When I couldn't find her with anyone else, I came to the conclusion she must be in another part of the building. But just as I was about to leave the party, Bucky comes up to me and tells me Shuri said she wants to talk to me on the balcony. He had no emotion on his face so I couldn't tell if this was for something good or bad. My automatic brain mode in situations like this is to assume the worst. 

I found Shuri out on the balcony just as Bucky had said. She was leaning over the side just staring out at the city. "Shuri? What's going on?" I asked getting straight to the point. She then turned around and began speaking. "Y/n, we've been together a long time now and I wanted to start the new year off right." I raise my eyebrow wondering where she was going with this and what she was planning. That was until she got down on one knee. "Y/n l/n, I love you more than anything! Will you marry me?" She held out a black box with a beautiful ring inside. 

Speechless. That's what I was. Here I was thinking the worst was going to happen and she pulls something like this. And I mean that in the best way possible! I realised I needed to answer her as I was so deep in thought. "Yes. Of course I will!" I told her and hugged her! We both smiled at each other as the others inside start the countdown to the new year. "10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5..." They speak but we drowned out the noise as our lips gently connected into a meaningful kiss. Shuri was definitely right and I'm glad she got what she wanted. To start the new year off right! And we only break the kiss when the fireworks began indicating the new year has begun. Yep, a truly perfect way to start the new year. 

Ending this one here. Apologies if it seemed short and for posting the new years one so late. I wanted to write an xmas one but I spent xmas day throwing up so it was not a good day for me.
