My head rests on the pillow I'm currently hugging, eyes squinted and slightly dry from staying up all night, and the intense light shining through my window indicates the start of a new day.

With a small yawn, I stretch my arms and put my pillow on the side, carefully rubbing my eyes in an attempt to fully wake up.

The night was long and felt like an eternity, but fortunately, I had plenty of sleep yesterday and the movie was actually pretty good. And for once, I actually feel energized and ready to face a new day.

What is sleep anyway?

Shaking my head out of my thoughts, I take a quick shower and change my clothes, taking a look in the mirror one last time before heading out to make sure everything is order.

As I walk out of the apartment complex, I'm greeted by Rose putting her arm around my neck and pulling me closer.

"Someone's in a good mood." I say with a teasing smile and Rose's cheeks turn a slight shade of pink.

"Oh shush." She says slightly taping my arm.

"So how was it?" I ask.

Her smile grows wider as she steps away from me linking her arm with mine. "Great! First we went to grab something to eat, and then..."

I nod and watch as she describes how her date went, her eyes brown eyes sparkling as she talks about her crush Jason. The girl has a huge crush on him but every time I ask her about it, she says that Jason is just a friend, shooting down any other ideas. Still she seems to enjoy the time she gets to spend with him any chance they get.

As we walk by a nearby coffee shop, I momentarily pause as someone on their computer catches my attention, reminding me of the dream, but I quickly shake my head and refocus on what Rose is telling me.

As she finishes her story, she turns her head and looks at me with a smile. "What about you? What did you do yesterday?"

"Hmmm...nothing interesting. I just took a nap," and had another dream, I think to myself but don't say it out loud, "then I watched 'Your Name'."

"Finally!" Rose says skipping ahead of me. "So what did you think of it?"

"I loved it." I say with a smile and giving her a thumbs up. "I didn't really know what to expect but it was great." I add and she squeals in excitement.

Should I tell her about it?

What am I going to say? Oh, yeah, by the way I've been dreaming with this guy...

No! That's just weird!

But maybe if I tell her, she'll make me come to my senses...

                                                                  ☁️☁️☁️

The first period of class passes by in a blur, mostly spent by tapping my pen against my chin while trying to think of a way to tell Rose about the dreams without sounding like a crazy person.

With a sigh, the bell rings indicating that it's time for our free period giving me the perfect opportunity to talk to her.

It's now or never. I think to myself following Rose to our usual spot in the cafeteria.

"You know," Rose says putting her back pack on the ground and taking a seat, "you seem distracted lately. Is everything okay?"

"Yes, everything is fine." I say pausing for a second, giving her a reassuring smile. "It's just that lately I've been having these dreams..." My voice trails off as my finger draws something on the smooth surface of the table.

"What kind of dreams?" She asks leaning closer to me, her full attention in what I'm about to tell her.

"Well, I'm not sure yet, but I keep going back to the same place and seeing the same person." I say keeping my gaze down on the invisible drawing I just made.

"I'm assuming we're talking about a guy right?" She asks and I nod.

Then out of nowhere she lets a loud squeal making a few heads turn our way.

"Keep it down Rose." I say covering my face with my hand, attempting to hide from the looks people are giving us.

"Sorry." She says taking a deep breath and fanning herself with her hands. "That's just so romantic."

"What is?" I ask confused.

"Well, are you sure you haven't met him before?"

"Positive." I say with a nod of my head. "I couldn't really remember him at first but I see more details each time we meet."

"So how do you know it's him?" Rose asks resting her chin on her hand.

"I just know." I say trying to recall yesterday's dream. "I don't really know how to explain it but there's this feeling every time I see him and I somehow know it's him."

"Then maybe he's your soulmate, wouldn't that be cool?"

"This isn't a movie or anime Rose." I say shaking my head. "I'm being serious."

"So am I." She says with a serious expression on her face. "It could happen you know?"

When I raise my eyebrow at her statement, she continues, "just because no one talks about it, it doesn't mean it's not real." She says and our conversation is interrupted by the alarm on our phones.

"Better get to class." She says rushing to get everything in her bag. Then she gets up and smiles at me. "I'll see you later okay?"

I watch as she walks away and also start making my way to class, thinking about what Rose said.

It might be nothing but, what if she's right?
