You were sitting in the garden, enjoying the autumn sun, cuddling your daughter who was now 7 months old. Time had passed so quickly, you could not seem to comprehend how fast time had passed. It had almost been two years since you had graduated from Hogwarts and your wedding with Cedric still felt like yesterday. You were in your favorite rocking chair, which you had charmed so it would rock rhythmically by itself.

Cedric could be heard shuffling around in the kitchen, he loved to cook a roast on Sundays, so you and little y/b/n were out in your garden that was starting to form joyous auburn tones.

After a short while, the table came hovering from the far side of the garden with the food following from the kitchen. Y/b/n was giggling and babbling as she swayed her hands towards the items, wiggling in your lap. But she couldn't catch anything, they all started to place themselves meticulously on the table. Soon, the table was set and you saw Cedric putting his wand away from the corner of your eye as he walked towards you. He placed a huge smile on his face when he saw you and y/b/n still giggling. His hair was misplaced, his white, linen shirt was rolled up at the sleeves and he was radiating pride. Pride, in a good way though. Cedric was proud of his family, of the life the both of you had put together and his daughter of course. He loved to spend time with her, he had been supportive throughout your pregnancy and after y/b/n was born he had co-parented alongside you, instead of leaving all the responsibility of her up to you. He was, to say the least, an amazing husband and father.

"Come on then, give her to me," he said as he took a seat beside you, and lowered his head down to his daughter's eye level, "Come to daddy!" He said and y/b/n instantly surged forward with her arms stretched out towards her dad, you passed her over and smiled when you saw how Cedric cuddled her. He caught your stare and grinned smugly,

"What?" He laughed.

"You look adorable with her," you smiled which caused him to blush.

"Ba, ba, ba, ba!" Shouted y/b/n, which Cedric replied to,

"Yes, mummy does think daddy is adorable. Can you believe that?" And y/b/n nodded which must have been a coincidence but nevertheless drew giggles from you both.

"The food looks delicious," you observed as everything was serving itself onto your plates. He had even boiled little baby carrots for your daughter and mashed some of the potatoes with some gravy for her so she could digest more easily. When everything was ready, Cedric sat y/b/n on her high chair beside him and set her plate of carrots in front of her. He helped her with her potatoes, carefully guiding the spoon into her mouth because she wasn't as good with cutlery yet. She adored using her fingers, and so did Cedric. Ever since she had started eating solid foods, it was as though Cedric had used the opportunity to also start eating with his hands. It didn't bother you though, because it really motivated y/b/n to start eating on her own.

"These carrots are yummy," said Cedric as he took a bite from the carrot between his fingers.

"Ya!" Y/b/n managed, which caused her to dribble a small portion of the content in her mouth down on her chin. Cedric immediately took a napkin and cleaned her up before you had a chance to.

"I can't believe how fast she's growing up," you said, your voice full of awe but with a slight twinge of melancholy twisted in your heart.

"I know, she's amazing," Cedric looked at you warmly, "she's our daughter, after all."

"I love you, honey."

"Love you too, darling." He said, but his attention was quickly pulled back to y/b/n because she had just thrown a carrot at him, which hit his arm. She had a frown on her little face, and you didn't want to admit it, but she looked adorable.

"We love you too," Cedric sang to his daughter which instantly lit up her expression. That afternoon was spent in the garden, around the table with laughter and joy rising from you all, feeling grateful that you had each other.
