Lucy's POV

I sighed and rested my head on my hand at the bar. Mirajane was cleaning glasses, and humming softly to herself. Gray and Natsu where arguing and everyone else was either talking or drinking.

"What's up Lucy?" Mira asked me.

"Huh? Oh just, thinking," I sigh.

"About Natsu?" She teased.

"What?! No!!" I waved my hands frantically as I spoke.

"Sure Lucy, you weren't day dreaming about Natsu," She giggled with a knowing look about her.

"I was not!" I protest.

"You weren't what Luce?" Natsu asks coming up behind me.

"Nothing!!" I squeak.

"She was spacing out," Mira tells him.

He slings his arm over my shoulders and I blush.

"She liiiiikeeeesss him," Happy rolls his tongue.

"Shut up Happy!" I yell at the annoying exceed.

"Hey Lucy, how 'bout you and me go do a job by ourselves? You need the rent right?" Natsu suggests.

"Yeah sure, sounds fun!" I agree and follow him to the board.

"Let's do, this one!" He pulls off a random paper and waves it to Mira as we leave.

"Be careful you two! And have fun!" Mira calls as we leave.

"So what's the job?" I ask Natsu.

"Here," He hands me the paper.

HELP NEEDED

An important stone disappeared from my home! Please retrieve it for me!

Reward: J200,000

"Seems simple enough" I think to myself.

I stuff the paper in my bag. "So are we taking the train or walking?" I ask Natsu looking over at him.

"Let's walk there, it's nearby," He decided.

"Come on Luce, let's go! I'm all fired up!" He yelled as he grabbed my hand and pulled me through the streets. I blushed when I realized we where holding hands but Natsu seemed to excited to notice. We slowed to a walk and Natsu still hadn't released my hand. I kept looking between his face and hand, but eventually stopped.

We arrived at the village where the request was sent from, and got directions to the persons house. It was a pretty big house so the person must be pretty wealthy. And a butler answered the door when I knocked. We where led to a sitting room, where a woman sat on a couch.

When we entered she stood,"Are you wizards answering my request?" She asked anxiously.

"Yup, that's us." I nod.

"Oh good." She sighed and gave a weak smile.

"So where do you think the stone is?" Natsu asked.

"Well, I can only tell you a general area. I can't go near it without experiencing extreme pain. And that only started after it disappeared." She tells us.

"So how are we supposed to return it?" I ask her.

"I believe that if you retrieve it from wherever it is that will stop." She stands.

"Well take us to the area." Natsu grinned.

"Follow me then." And she leads us out of the house. Natsu trailed behind me and the woman a bit as we walked.

The lady looked over at me and said, "Are you two, together?"

"No, no! We're just friends! Hehe.." I laugh nervously.

She raises and eyebrow. "Hm. Well this stone is powerful, it can read a persons heart. But if the magic energy where stolen..." She trailed off.

"Bad things will happen," I finish.

"Oi, Luce! We there yet?!" Natsu whined.

"Jeez Natsu even I'M not complaining." I giggle.

"But I'm bored! I wanna fight somebody!" He yelled.

"Oh Natsu..." I roll my eyes.

The lady then stops. "This is as far as I can go. It's in this area." She tells me and turns and walks away.

"Finally!! Let's find this stone and get some food! I'm starved!" Natsu runs ahead. His speed leaves my hair blowing in the wind.

"Natsu wait up!" I run after him. "He runs so fast!" I finally catch up to him but I'm totally winded.

"Jeez Luce, your so slow." Natsu complained.

I sweatdropped, "You run ridiculously fast." I point out but he was already looking around for the stone. I started looking around and came across a cave.

"NATSU!!" I yell. He comes running through the trees, and after seeing I'm in no immediate danger asks, "Find something Lucy?" I nod and point to the cave.

"Seems pretty promising," I smile triumphantly.

"Come in then, let's go!" He pulls me in. The cave was creepy, and I kept getting chills. And it got dark, fast. Natsu lit a flame on his fist casting shadows on the walls around us.

"This cave is giving me a weird feeling." Natsu grumbled.

"Yeah, I don't like it." I agree.

"Let's hurry up and get this done." He started walking faster. I had to run a little to catch up to him, and we came across a dead end.

"Awe man! This sucks!" Natsu complains.

"I guess we will have to look somewhere else!" I shrug.

"And we get out of this creepy cave..."

"Yeah let's go.." He sigh defeated. Just then the ground started shaking and we griped the walls to keep from falling. It shook for a couple of second before finally stopping.

"Oi! Luce look behind you!" Natsu pointed behind my head. I turned to see a small hole in the wall with a purple stone inside.

"Yes! We found it!" I cheer. I reach in for it but my hand is zapped. The shock sent me stumbling back a few steps.

"Lucy! Are you okay?!" I hear Natsu asking me. I could only nod before passing out.

I opened my eyes too see the path moving beneath me. Then I realized I was being carried. I looked up to find Natsu's determined face staring ahead.

"H-hey." I croak.

"Hey Lucy! You woke up!" He smiled.

"Yeah, barely." I laugh weakly.

"Where's the stone?" I ask.

"I managed to grab it. That shock was nothin' compared to Laxus's lighting." Natsu grinned. I just smiled. Natsu had the type of smile that was infectious, you saw him smiling, you smiled too. I leaned my head back against his chest.

"I'm giving the stone back and then we are taking the train home. You aren't walking in this condition." Natsu tells me.

"Okay." I nod.

"But why did the shock affect me like this? Am I just that weak? Or was it maybe I took a worse hit than Natsu because I touched it first?"

We reached the woman's house and Natsu set me back on my own two feet. I was a little wobbly but it wasn't really bad. The woman paid us and then we made our way to the train station.

I sat down next to Natsu who was already getting motion sickness. I just relaxed until we got back.
