"How do boys this cute just pop into your life? Teach me." Farrah begged Ramona, as they looked through Ethan's old Instagram pictures

"Oh, please. It's only been Popko, famous guys, Ethan...I guess you're right. At least, you have Jackson." Ramona said

The girls looked at each other before falling into a fit of laughter. Ramona referring to Jackson as 'cute' was the last thing anyone would expect to come out of her mouth.

"Good one. I needed that laugh." Farrah smiled

"What you looking at?" Jackson asked from behind the girls

Ramona and Farrah jumped in their seats, shocked at his random appearance.

"Also, don't make fun of me or I take the tree." Jackson threatened

"It's not your turn. You wouldn't dare." Farrah responded, challenging him

"Watch me." He said, bringing himself to her eye level

The ex-couple glared at each other for a moment, before he stood up to face Ramona, "Anyway, back to you."

"Smart people stuff. You wouldn't like it." Ramona insisted

"Really? Cause that looks like Ethan's old Instagram." Jackson questioned

"Yeah. Ethan...Dolan." Farrah defended, trying to come up with some kind of lie to help her out

"What? How did he get on there?" Ramona questioned with fake surprise

"Are you stalking your Postmates guy?" Jackson asked, taking a seat on the couch's arm chair

"I was just, um, mildly curious to see what he's into when he's not driving chimichangas around the Bay Area." Ramona insisted

"How far back did you scroll?" He asked

"Oh, not that far. Just back to when Instagram was invented." Ramona said

"Which really wasn't that long ago." Farrah added

"Instagram was created in 2010." Jackson argued

"What? Ramona, I didn't know it was that bad." The blonde girl said, realizing how badly they'd been stalking

"Hey, I had the same Justin Bieber hair cut." Jackson said, taking the phone out of Ramona's hand and tapping the screen

"Oh, no. What'd you just do?" Ramona asked, standing up from her spot on the couch

"What? I was trying to make it bigger." Jackson  insisted, as she grabbed it out of his hand

"You just liked a picture from ten years ago!" Ramona cried, moving to the front of the living room

"That means my next move is totally justified." Farrah said before shoving Jackson off of the couch armchair

"That's how you wanna play?" He asked, composing himself before lifting Farrah up under her arms and setting her down between him and Ramona, "Now you have to be my shield in case she hits me."

"Now Ethan's gonna know I went deep diving into his feed." Ramona groaned

"Not to mention he was shirtless and kissing his grandmother." Jackson added, making the situation worse

"He's gonna think I'm some creepy stalker now. All because of your pudgy little fingers." She said, rushing out of the room

"Pudgy is a fun word." Farrah laughed, making her way into the kitchen

____________

"I really don't think this is going to work, Ramona. We both know my hands are too shaky to hold a camera steady." Farrah said, as Ramona dragged her down the stairs

"Well, someone has to do it. He can't know I went deep diving." Ramona groaned before noticing Jackson lounged on the couch, "Here, record me."

Jackson looked at her, confused, "What am I recording?"

"Just hit the record button." She said, moving Farrah out of the way of the camera

Farrah moved to take a spot behind Jackson, to make sure he could hold the camera stiller than she did.

"To whom it may concern, if you've received a random deep like on a really old Instagram post that would be super-creepy for me to be looking at, it's wasn't me. I was hacked." Ramona declared, looking into the camera, "Now, I'm not saying it was sophisticated Russian cyberterrorists. But I'm not saying it's nyet."

Jackson finished recording, slowly lowering the camera and giving Ramona a confused look

"Ethan will buy that, right?" She asked

"Hell no. You really think Ethan is gonna believe that somebody like Anonymous would hack you phone. You can't be the one saying it." Farrah suggested

"If he did buy it, would you still want to go out with him?" Jackson asked

"No. Why does he have to be the first smart guy that I like?" Ramona groaned

"Can't say I've had that problem." Farrah said

"Seriously. Why is it attack me day?" Jackson groaned

"You recorded your face the entire time." She said, pointing to Ramona's phone

"She didn't need to know that. Besides, why didn't you stop me?" He asked

"It was funny." Farrah shrugged

Their attention moved to the front door, when it opened and Max walked inside, "Thanks, Captain Gene."

A loud honk came from outside as Max shut the door behind him.

"Wha- Did you get a ride home on a fire truck?" Jackson asked, "That's awesome."

"Not awesome." Max argued, showing no emotion whatsoever

"What happened?" Ramona asked

"I don't wanna talk about it." Max said, making his way upstairs

"Do you think the pool caught on fire?" Jackson asked, confusing both Ramona and Farrah

"What is wrong with you?" She said, beginning to climb up the steps

"I know you were being serious, but that was kind of funny." Farrah laughed, chasing after Ramona as Jackson trailed behind

Jackson quickly made his way to front as they reached the door of their room. Muffled music sounded from outside.

"I don't hear any crying. That's good, right?" Jackson asked

"It's worse. I hear someone singing Natalie Imbruglia." Ramona said

"Been there before." Farrah said, following them into the room

They stood by the open door, watching Max sing along with the lyrics. Ramona placed a hand over her heart, while Farrah smiled.

"Why is he oddly good?" Farrah asked

"What are you doing?" Jackson questioned, once Max had noticed them

"Singing out my feelings 90s adult alternative-style obviously." Max replied

"Who knew I'd have the most in common with Max, out of everyone in this house. Best choice if we're being honest." Farrah said, putting her arm over his shoulder

"You know 'Torn' is a break up song?" Ramona asked

"It's a song about hurting, which I am. Plus, I couldn't find a very good diving-board song." Max replied

"What happened?" Jackson asked

"I choked. I got up on the board, I saw how high it was, and... I froze." Max said

"That doesn't sound that bad. Farrah's never jumped off of it either." Jackson said

"Really?" Farrah asked, crossing her arms

"You get to make fun of me, I get to make fun of you. You started this." He sassed

"Fair enough. But you just climbed down the ladder, right?" Farrah asked, turning her attention back to Max

"I wish. I was so paralyzed with fear that the firemen had to get me down with a cherry picker. It was humiliating. Taylor was laughing so hard that the paramedics had to give him oxygen." Max continued

"Max, don't beat yourself up. Everyone gets embarrassed at some point." Ramona insisted, "I accidentally deep-liked an old picture of Ethan."

"Oh. You need the song more than I do." Max said, patting her shoulder

"Dude, deep liking is nothing. You want to talk public humiliation? I once fell down the stairs at school. I knocked over six kids and a Home Ec teacher carrying a butter sculpture." Jackson started, "And when I tried to get up, I kept slipping on the butter. I made the local news. For months, I was known as the Hot Buttered Boy."

"It's true. I made the name up." Farrah laughed

"But now here's the embarrassing part.." Jackson started

"Please stop." Max begged

"What Jackson's trying time say is...he's lived an entire life of abject humiliation, and he's still plugging away." Ramona said

"Yep, I wake up every day thinking, 'Today cannot be worse than yesterday." Jackson nodded

"Do you really think I can do this?" Max asked

"You won't know until you try." Farrah said

"You're right. If Jackson can show his face in school, then I can go right back down to camp and jump off that high dive." Max declared, "Thanks, Hot Buttered Boy."

Max left, and Jackson smiled in satisfaction. Ramona shook her head at the boy before walking out of the room.

"I'm taking the tree back." Farrah said, grabbing the Bonsai tree before making her way out of the room.

Important question: Sokka or Zuko? Can't rope Aang in because he's just too sweet. That show gives me so much serotonin.
