Ever since her encounter with Clark, Lena was confused about what was happening to her. She'd been feeling different ever since she'd lost her temper with Clark and had noticed sparks coming out of her hands. She'd already run tests to confirm that she was one hundred percent human, not part alien or metahuman, so now she needed to figure out what had caused those sparks, since ever since, she'd felt different. Like a part of her had been unlocked. However, since none of these tests were doing anything, she decided that maybe she'd need to take another approach. But she couldn't figure out what that was until suddenly, she was hit by brief memories of her childhood after she'd moved in with the Luthors after her mother's death. Memories of strange things happening around her when she was particularly angry or happy. Memories that she'd apparently repressed until now. And now she knew what she needed to do, even though it did pain her to need to speak to anyone who shared her last name, especially now that she was dating Kara, but she had no choice.

So, after taking a deep breath she pulled out her phone and scrolled down through her contacts until she got to the L section and saw that she hadn't blocked the number yet, something she would be doing after she finished this call as she hit the contact and the call button before placing the phone to her ear.

"Well, this is a surprise." the voice of Lillian Luthor said when she picked up.

"Not as big a surprise as you answering." Lena said, since they'd had a falling out after she'd helped expose Lex to the world for the monster he is, though he had fled and gone underground since then. Lena was still trying to figure out where her brother was hiding, since she knew that Lex would resurface eventually and she wanted to be prepared for when he did.

"Well, I figured if you were willing to put aside our disagreement about your brother on hold long enough to call me, it must be worth hearing, though I doubt it's you saying I was right." Lillian said.

"Don't flatter yourself. We both know Lex made his bed, but that's not why I'm calling you." Lena said.

"Then enlighten me." Lillian said.

"Well first I'd like to know why you never told me that I wasn't just adopted into the Luthor family, but actually born into it, just not to you." Lena said.

"So you know." Lillian said.

"That I am the result of what I can was just one of father's many affairs, yes, I know." Lena said.

"You always were quite clever. I knew one day you'd figure it out. But I'm guessing finding out that you're actually related to Lex isn't why you called." Lillian said.

"No, it's not. Honestly, I liked it better when I could say that I wasn't a blood relation to him. I'm calling because I was wondering if you remembered anything strange happening to me when I was a kid. I know you didn't really pay attention to me, but I figure it's worth a shot." Lena said.

"Strange how?" Lillian asked.

"I don't know exactly, but I have these vague memories of odd things happening around me when I was feeling a particular emotion. And yesterday, when I was feeling particularly angry, something weird happened." Lena said.

"And let me guess, you feel different now." Lillian said.

"Yes. But I don't know how to explain it. But it sounds like you might." Lena said.

"Honestly Lena, I wish I could give you some form of answers about this, but I have nothing to go on except what you've just told me and some old rumors I tracked down about your mother when I first discovered your father cheating on me with her." Lillian said.

"So it has something to do with my mother." Lena said.

"Yes, but like I said, I can't guarantee anything. I recommend that you pay a visit to her hometown, see if there's anything there that might help." Lillian said and now Lena was sure Lillian knew what was going on.

"You might be able to fool other people, but not me. Why can't you just tell me?" Lena asked.

"Because even if I did, you'd never believe me without proof. And like I said, I can't be sure my theory is right. My only advice to you is to either stop digging into this or actually do some research into your mother. I honestly don't think you ever did before." Lillian said and before Lena could respond, Lillian hung up.

"Huh, she was more helpful than I thought she'd be." Lena said as she then proceeded to block Lillian's number from her phone before deciding to leave work early, since honestly, she needed to talk about this with someone she actually cared about.

"You're probably going to hate me for saying this, but I think that for once, you should do what Lillian says." Kara said.

"Wait, really?" Lena asked and Kara nodded.

"Even if it turns out to be nothing, I think that you should finally explore your roots. After all, I've got J'onn and Brainy searching the galaxy for any trace of Argo City, since that is where my roots are and I want to show it to Esme and to you." Kara said and Lena smiled.

"I'd love to see Argo. Especially after everything you've told me about it. It sounds amazing. But I do have one concern?" Lena asked.

"And that is?" Kara asked.

"How your mom will react to finding out that her daughter is dating another woman." Lena said and Kara smiled.

"While I admit if Krypton still existed, it might be an issue, but then again, if Krypton still existed, I wouldn't be here right now and neither of us would know the other existed." Kara said.

"I guess that's one way to find a positive about the death of your home planet." Lena said as Kara took her hand.

"My point is that Argo is not Krypton. My mother even told me herself that Argo has learned from the mistakes of Krypton and the population is much more accepting. And if for some reason that's different in this universe, I'll give my mom a choice. Either accept the fact that we're together or she'll never see her granddaughter again." Kara said.

"Are you sure you want to do that?" Lena asked.

"No, but hopefully I won't have to. But anyways, back to what we were originally talking about, Lena , I think that investigating your birth mom's origins can only be a good thing. You'll get to learn so much more about her than you knew before." Kara said.

"And what if I don't like what I find?" Lena asked.

"Believe me, I know that feeling all too well, since it wasn't until after I became Supergirl that I began to know the real version of my parents instead of the versions I thought of them. Parents aren't perfect, but that shouldn't stop you from trying to connect to the only good family member you ever had. I mean, I guess your dad wasn't too bad since from what you told me, he spoiled you, but you know what I mean." Kara said and Lena nodded.

"Yeah I do and I admit I have always been curious about what my mother was like when she was my age." Lena said.

"Then go find out. I'll even go with you." Kara said.

"As much as I'd love that, you can't just up and leave Esme right now, since she's still dealing with PTSD from the bus incident and you can't pull her out of school just to go to Ireland, not to mention the fact that National City needs Supergirl." Lena said and Kara sighed.

"You're right. And I'm guessing that means that you really just want to do this alone?" Kara asked.

"If I need you, I'll call, I promise." Lena said and Kara nodded.

"Well, you better start getting ready for your trip." Kara said and Lena nodded.
