Not to much of Onyx's surprise, they were informed the kyurangers were spotted on another planet. This time it was Planet Jigama. Onyx couldn't recall the last time they had set foot on that particular planet. But as expected, Eriedrone asked for them to come along. Onyx was more than willing to do so for a multitude of reasons.
Maybe this time they would actually try and fight the kyurangers. They still did want to test their capabilities a bit. It also was a chance to see if they would soon be met with a new kyuranger. They were most likely on that planet looking for one. Would they be able to find who it was? Onyx had a feeling they would.
"So... you have any plan for when we get there?" Onyx asked Eriedrone as they traveled to the planet.
"I wish to watch you fight them and see how strong they are." Eriedrone replied. "Perhaps join the fight if I see fit. I know you don't particularly like meddling in your battles."
"How 'bout we split the kyurangers between us? You and I can fight half each. See how well they do." Onyx offered.
"Sounds like a good deal." Eriedrone replied.
It wasn't much longer before they made it into the planet's atmosphere. Onyx used the ship's system to try and track where the kyurangers may be. They got a hit pretty fast. The kyuranger weren't too far away from where they were already.
"Send down some indavers." Eriedrone ordered.
The crew did just that. Onyx watched as the kyurangers managed to quite easily handle the indavers. They had gotten better at using their powers since the last time they met. They were probably training every day. It wasn't too surprising to see them improving. That was also a good thing. That meant they stood more of a chance against Jark Matter.
"Shall we go say hi?" Onyx asked as the number of indavers dwindled more.
"Let's." Eriedrone agreed.
The two of them went down and stood on a bridge above the kyurangers. All four looked up at them. While their facial expressions were hidden, Onyx could see that Spada recognized them. Hopefully he wouldn't say anything about it. That would not be good.
"Who are you guys?" The green ranger questioned.
"I am the Sagittarius Chief Retainer, Eriedrone."
"You may refer to me as Akuma. I am Don Armage's second in command." Onyx said.
"We're here to test your powers." Eriedrone added on.
"Two high ranking Jark Matter commanders here?!" Spada exclaimed.
Garu let out a growl. "Just what I wanted!"
The blue kyuranger charged and jumped up to fight. Eriedrone easily deflected his attacks and sent him falling back to the ground. The other three rushed over. Onyx nodded to Eriedrone and the two of them jumped down as well. They split up to fight.
Onyx ended up taking on Garu and Champ. Perhaps it was for the best they at least didn't have to fight Spada. It seemed as though Champ didn't recognize them at all. That also might be for best. The less people that could potentially say something that would draw suspicion the better.
The two rangers were tough, but nowhere near enough to get near to taking them down. Onyx scoffed at them and sent two swift blows hurling at them. The two fell backwards from the attack.
"Hammie-chan!"
Onyx glanced over at Eriedrone's fight. So, the green one was named Hammie. Good to know. Back to the battle at hand though. Spada and Hammie got hit as well. They too were unable to stand much of a chance against Eriedrone.
Eriedrone jumped back up to the bridge. "For the crime of disturbing Don Armage-sama, you will pay with your lives."
He sent a flurry of attacks at the rangers. Onyx winced as they got hit full force. That had got to hurt a lot. Though, they really didn't want Eriedrone killing any of them right now. Should they step in?
The kyurangers were sprawled on the ground. They were in a lot of pain from the look of it. Eriedrone laughed. He was preparing another attack. Onyx stepped in front of the kyurangers and faced Eriedrone.
"What are you doing?" He demanded.
"I'm not letting you kill them." Onyx stated. "You aren't taking away my toys that fast. I still want to play with them longer."
Eriedrone grumbled in annoyance but backed down. Onyx glanced back at the kyurangers. They all seemed shocked by the protection.
"Retreat... we need to retreat, guys..." Spada stated.
In the blink of an eye, they summoned transportation and vanished back to their ship. Onyx shrugged and jumped up to join Eriedrone again.
"Why did you let them go?" He asked.
"They'd be no fun to keep fighting in their pathetic state. I want them at full power before I fight them again." Onyx stated. "Now, didn't we hear that Gamettsui had spotted the red one? I'm inclined to go check that out, if you don't mind."
"I'll be on the ship." Eriedrone responded.
Onyx nodded. They took off to go find the warehouse that Gamettsui had reported to be in. This place was a confusing maze. Onyx remembered why they hated going here. The town was fine, but the outskirts were hard to navigate sometimes.
Onyx heard the sound of fighting inside of one of the warehouses. They entered and ended up walking into the fray. The indavers acknowledged their presence and gave them walking space. They stared down Lucky. Was Gamettsui not here yet? Maybe he had been planning how to approach or maybe that idiot had lost track of his target at some point? Wouldn't be that surprising if that was the case.
There were two others behind Lucky. Onyx had no idea who they were but they were obviously with Lucky. A robot looking thing and some boy with silver hair. They were certainly a pair. Were these apparently the ones that they thought would be the new kyurangers? Onyx didn't sense anything from either of them.
"It's you." Lucky stared them down. "Why are you here?"
"I just had a bit of fun with your friends, that's all." Onyx smiled.
Lucky took a step back. "What did you do to them?"
"Hmm? They fled like the cowards they are." Onyx chuckled.
"Lucky? Who is this?" The robot questioned.
"You may refer to me as Akuma." Onyx answered for him. "I am Don Armage's right-hand man, to put it simply."
"You're..." That made the robot nervous.
"It's okay." Lucky stated. "I don't think they'll hurt us."
"But you are an enemy, Lucky." The other person said.
"They saved my life. They can't be that bad."
"Saved your life? Why would Akuma-sama do such a thing?"
"Gamettsui." Onyx looked over at the governor. "Took you long enough to get your ass here. Had a whole conversation before you showed up."
"Who are you?!" Lucky demanded.
"The governor of this planet. I'm going to capture you and gobble up that reward!"
Onyx shook their head at his words. Like that was going to happen so easily. He underestimated this kid.
"So basically you're this planet's boss?" Lucky said, pointing a finger at him. "Prepare yourself!"
"You're open~"
Onyx was very confused as the robot suddenly attacked Lucky and shocked him. Lucky groaned and fell to the floor. He seemed to have been knocked out from the shock.
Why did the robot do that though? Were they not friends? Why was he betraying him? Was he afraid for his own life and doing that to try and save himself?
"Balance, why?" The silver-haired boy questioned. Robot thing was named Balance. Noted.
Balance turned to his friend. "I was going to betray him all along."
Eh? That did not add up. Onyx rolled their eyes. He was definitely only doing this to save his own ass. Until this point he was going to work with Lucky.
Balance looked between Gamettsui and Onyx as he continued. "Don't misunderstand me. I was just bringing the kyuranger."
"Is that so?" Gamettsui said. "Thanks for that."
Onyx sighed. He actually believed that? He really was an idiot then, wasn't he?
"Thanks. But I just have one request." Balance approached Gamettsui. "I just want one glance at your most valuable jewel. Please, please, please."
So he liked jewels? Was he a thief or a collector? Probably a thief. If he knew how to play dirty like this he probably wasn't the most honest of them all.
And Gamettsui actually agreed to show him. What a joke. Onyx glanced back at Lucky. The other boy approached him. He stared Lucky over for a moment.
"I will... betray Balance." He stated.
Oh boy. This was getting more entertaining by the second. Now the two friends seemed to be breaking apart. Wow. Eriedrone was really missing out not coming here too. This was so much more fun to witness than the petty things at the base.
"Oh you, with your unfunny jokes." Balance returned to the boy now.
"I decide... what I want to do." The boy said, glancing back at Lucky before continuing. "Lucky is... my comrade!!"
Gamettsui got startled by that statement. "He's your comrade?! Take him away too!"
The indavers quickly surrounded the boy. Onyx watched as Balance seemed worried over it now. Not the way he wanted this to go, was it?
Onyx's eye widened. The boy was glowing. He had... the will to be a kyuranger. How did they get the kyutama to him though?
"Hey, Gamettsui." Onyx called. "I want the boy for a bit. Let me take him."
"Gyoisa." At least he didn't argue with that.
The indavers handed over the boy to Onyx before they went a took Lucky away. That kid would get out of this. Onyx had faith in that much. Balance was staring at them. Onyx rolled their eyes at him and drug the boy away after the indavers.
Once they were alone, they began to talk to him. "What's your name?"
"Naga."
"And Balance is your friend, I take it?"
"He isn't my friend anymore."
"Now, now. I think you are overreacting to everything a bit, kid. I'm sure things will work out. Just you watch." Onyx said.
They handed Naga back over to Gamettsui. He tied them up and hung them over a pit of molten metal. That was dangerous. Lucky had woken up. He stared at Onyx. Onyx just nodded to him.
"This is all part of Balance's plan, right?"
"No. He will not come save us."
Maybe not. Which could be a problem. They obviously needed to not let them die but if they went and started attacking their own that might not look too good for them. Onyx was quite stumped on what to do. Even if they did give Naga his kyutama now, he wouldn't be able to use it at all.
Gamettsui began to count down to their death. Onyx looked around. Maybe they could subtly do something to stop this?
They saw Balance enter the room. He snuck over to a control panel and attached his wires to it. Onyx felt relief. He was going to save them. He couldn't leave his friend behind.
"What? Is it broken?"
Onyx turned back. Gamettsui had pulled down the lever only for nothing to happen. Balance had actually done it.
"Hey, hey, hey, hey. Sorry."
Balance exposed himself to everyone now. "I'm a mechanical lifeform, so I can control machines."
He swung down and snagged the two boys and brought them to safety. Gamettsui began to panic and order the indavers to get them. It was a bit funny to see him get so flustered over his plan failing.
The indavers rushed down to attack. Naga stepped forward and all of sudden the indavers were stuck in place. Balance finished them off with an attack of his own. Wow. Even without a kyutama they were still quite capable of fighting. That was a relief.
"Eh?" Lucky exclaimed.
"Naga can control people for a short amount of time." Balance explained.
Interesting. Anyway, there were more important things at hand. Balance also was glowing now. So both of these two were meant to become kyurangers. Onyx smirked. Things were certainly getting more interesting by the day.
"Jark Matter. We will defeat you!" Naga proclaimed.
Balance seemed very pleased by the fact he was expressing an emotion so well. This kid didn't have emotions? Oh... he was from that system. Right. Made a lot more sense now. How could they have not noticed until now?
Anyway, now seemed like a good time to give them their kyutamas. Lucky even seemed to be looking at them expectantly. Onyx chuckled to themself and asked their kyutama to give the two their well deserved ones.
A light shown and two kyutamas came into sight. Naga and Balance grabbed them and looked them over.
"Alright, lucky!" Lucky exclaimed.
Balance and Naga grabbed the blasters from the case and put them on. The three of them faced the indavers and transformed. Now the real fun could begin.
"Super Star! Shishi Red!"
"Trick Star! Tenbin Gold!"
"Silent Star. Hebitsukai Silver."
"The ultimate saviors! Uchu Sentai Kyuranger!"
That was certainly an intro call. Did they have to announce their names to the enemy? Seemed like a bit of a weird choice but if that was what they wanted to do so be it.
Onyx was enjoying the fight when they got a call from Eriedrone to return to their ship and leave. Such a shame. They had been having so much fun. There was always another day.
They returned to the ship. Eriedrone nodded to them and ordered the crew to take off.
"What took you so long?" Eriedrone questioned.
"Got involved in a very intriguing adventure." Onyx replied. "Also they found two more kyurangers."
Eriedrone let out a frustrated yell at that news. "Don Armage-sama is going to be pissed."
"The legend said nine kyurangers. He still has a bit of time to get even more pissed off."
"We need to stop the kyurangers from finding any more of them."
"Easier said than done." Onyx scoffed.
There was no way they wouldn't eventually find the remaining two that were left. It was only a matter of time before they ran into Stinger. Where even was that kid at anymore? They hadn't heard any news of him being seen around places. Just what was he up to at this point?
