"Now, who is next?" Don Armage taunted them all.
"You bastard!"
Everyone but Onyx, Tsurugi, and Orion rushed to attack Don Armage for what he had done to Lucky. Onyx tightened their grip on Lucky as they winced. This was not going to end well. There was no way they could handle a fight with Don Armage with the current state of things.
Don Armage was easily able to hit all of the attackers and knock them down. Everyone writhed on the ground in pain, now out of their transformations. This was not good. They needed to retreat. They were in no shape to be fighting this battle right now.
"In this form, I can no longer control my own strength." Don Armage stated.
Tsurugi attempted to fire a shot at Don Armage, but it was easily hit back at him, also taking him down.
"Tsurugi!" Onyx called in worry.
"Withdraw!" Tsurugi said. He began to prepare for a retreat with his kyutama.
"It's no use!" Don Armage threw another attack at them again.
"Tsurugi!" Orion rushed forward and made a shield to protect him from the attack.
The shield did its job enough for them to be able to fall back and retreat. Now the main thing they needed to do was get Lucky medical attention right away. The boy was still unresponsive. The only indication he was still alive was the very feint rising and falling of his chest.
When they arrived back on the ship, Lucky was rushed to the med bay as fast as possible. Raptor took on the job of doing what she could to heal his wound. Unfortunately, the ship's technology could only do so much for such a grave wound like that.
"Do you... know if he'll be okay?" Onyx questioned quietly.
They were the only other person in the room right now. Tsurugi had been there for a bit, but left to go discuss what to do next.
Raptor remained silent and just shook her head. Things weren't looking good at all for Lucky. The current technology wasn't enough and even the death kyutama had failed to help in this situation.
"There... there has to be something we can do..." Onyx whispered.
"I'm sorry..." Raptor was just as upset.
Spada entered the room. He looked between the two of them. Both gave him looks that said everything. Spada walked to the side of the bed they had Lucky on.
"Tsurugi wants you." Spada said quietly to Onyx.
Onyx nodded. They placed a hand on his shoulder for a moment, and then left the room. They went to the bridge to see what was going on there.
"Orion, you're also hurt." Onyx heard the commander speaking as they entered the room.
"A wound like this is nothing." Orion replied.
Onyx silently walked down to them. All eyes went onto them.
"How is Lucky?" Tsurugi asked them.
"We've done what we can... there's nothing else we can do at this point to help him." Onyx replied solemnly, their ears flat against their head.
"We're out of options?!" Champ said in frustration. "Can't that kyutama of yours do anything to heal him?"
Onyx shook their head. "No. I tried to see if it would do anything to help, but nothing happened."
Raptor and Spada entered the room. Looks like they had finished whatever was left to do to help Lucky. Both also looked very down.
"Is there really nothing more we can do?" Stinger questioned.
"We are out of options."
"No..." Tsurugi said, holding his kyutama tightly in his hand. "Not entirely out of options."
"Eh?"
Onyx realized what he meant. It seemed as though Orion did too. It was unfortunate that the death kyutama didn't seem to have the ability to heal, but Tsurugi's did. But... the cost could be...
"I'm going to check on the kid." Orion stated and left the room in a hurry.
Onyx walked up to Tsurugi. They placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Don't say anything. I know the consequences that can happen." Tsurugi said quietly.
Onyx lowered their head to show they heard. There was no talking him out of it. Though, they were willing to take this gamble just as much as he was. If it was the only way to save Lucky then so be it. They had to try.
"I'm going to check on Lucky as well." Tsurugi left the room.
Onyx chased after him. They were being a part of this conversation as well.
The two entered into the room where Lucky was. Orion was standing by Lucky, looking at him.
"How is Lucky?" Tsurugi asked as he walked closer.
"He still hasn't awakened." Orion replied. "More importantly, Tsurugi... you aren't planning to use the power of the Houou kyutama, are you?"
Tsurugi looked down at Lucky. "Lucky is vital for our upcoming fight."
"But if you do that, you will..." Orion was cut off.
Looks like the enemy had located them again. They connected to the bridge to talk.
"Fighting right now would be unwise. We should launch Orion-gou as soon as possible."
"We can't! The emergency landing caused damage to the engine fuselage!" Raptor complained. "It needs to be repaired!"
"My word." Tsurugi sighed.
"Please repair it as soon as possible." Shou ordered.
"Okyuu!"
"For now, everyone fend them off!"
"Leave it to me." Tsurugi started to leave the room.
"I'm going too." Orion started to follow.
"Orion, please remain." Shou stated. "If you die, the future will be changed."
"That's right." Spada said, "If Orion dies, no one will spread the legend of the saviors."
"The Kyurangers would never assemble..."
"But I can't just stand by and watch..." Orion said, "Would the future really change that much? If Onyx is here still, I think things would have fallen into place one way or another."
"But is that a risk we want to take?" Onyx questioned.
"And if you died, I'd never be able to face your wife and child in the Leo system." Tsurugi stated. "Leave this to us."
Orion relented and didn't argue more. Tsurugi and Onyx went and met up with the others. They transformed and went to go meet the enemy.
"I'm impressed you didn't run away." Kukuruga taunted them. "And that somehow you have Akuma-sama on your side now."
"We're neither running nor hiding!" Tsurugi stated, "And Onyx was never on your side to begin with. Let's go!"
The five of them–Onyx, Tsurugi, Spada, Champ, and Stinger–rushed forward. Kukuruga sent indavers out to attack them back and then joined the fight as well. Everyone fought as hard as they could. They needed to buy as much time as they could for the ship to be repaired enough to fly again.
They managed to take down the indavers quite fast. All that was left was Kukuruga. With five of them, they were able to once again overpower him and knock him down.
"Guess I'll retreat for now." Kukuruga vanished.
"Well, he's gone for now. Let's get back." Onyx stated.
They returned to the ship. As they entered the bridge, the atmosphere seemed quite heavy. All of the remaining eyes in the room fell onto Tsurugi.
"What is it?" Tsurugi questioned.
"Is it true that you plan to give up your life to save Lucky's?" Shou asked in reply.
"Eh?" Everyone else was shocked by that statement.
"My word!" Tsurugi exclaimed. "You told them?"
Orion met his gaze. "It's because I don't agree that you should do it."
"I suppose I should explain in full." Tsurugi said, holding his kyutama. "This saved my life. I had an accident in the Phoenix system. I was tossed into space... and could feel myself dying. That's when it happened. I was revived using the power of the Houou kyutama. This kyutama has power over life. It's how Onyx was able to also become immortal before the death kyutama. If I use this power, Lucky will also..."
"But... if you use it up..." Orion argued.
The door to the room suddenly opened. Lucky fell forward. He had to use the wall to hold himself up.
"Lucky! Why are you up?!" Onyx yelled, storming over to him.
"Don't!" Lucky stated, the word directed at Tsurugi.
He fell forward as he tried to walk into the room. Onyx caught him and kept him upright. How troublesome... Though, it wouldn't be Lucky if he wasn't.
"Don't sacrifice your life... for me." Lucky continued.
Tsurugi walked closer to them. "Hey. You've got it wrong. I don't plan to die. I won't let you die either, though. That's why I'm taking a gamble."
"But..." Lucky tried to protest.
"Right now, past saviors and present saviors are working together to create a new legend. Remember who said that?" Tsurugi got even closer. "Save the galaxy with me!"
"Tsurugi..."
"If it means anything..." Onyx spoke up. "I give my approval of this plan. I trust Tsurugi to know what he's doing with this."
Lucky trembled slightly at their words and then he went limp again.
"Lucky?" Onyx worriedly looked him over. He was out cold once more. And... no...
One thing the death kyutama could do that they never wanted to feel was tell if the power of a kyutama was waning. Lucky's was starting to fade, signaling that its host was dying.
"Lucky!" Tsurugi was equally concerned about him.
The two of them brought his back to the med bay. This was bad. They had to hurry and do something before it was too late. They couldn't lose him. Onyx would never forgive themself if Lucky died because of this. They had to save him.
The rest of the group had mostly tried to follow them as well. Everyone was equally as worried about Lucky. Onyx had firmly told them all to leave the room. Tsurugi and them would handle this for now. There were too many people in the room otherwise.
"Onii-chan..." Tsurugi whispered.
"Yeah, kid?" Onyx glanced over at him as they tried to make sure Lucky was as stable as he could be.
"You... are okay with my plan?" Tsurugi questioned. There was obvious surprise in his face.
Onyx wasn't surprised he was confused by their support. He very well could die if things went wrong. But, this was something they needed to risk.
"I don't like what you're going to do. Don't get it twisted. But... if it's our best chance to save Lucky's life... I'll take that risk." Onyx replied, "I really don't like that we have to do such a dangerous stunt, but it's all we have to work with now."
"How much longer do you think he can hold on for?" Tsurugi asked quietly, placing a hand on Lucky's body.
Onyx flattened their ears against their head. That action alone was enough to tell Tsurugi the answer.
"The... death kyutama can sense power levels in the other kyutamas. His is... fading. Meaning..." Onyx trailed off.
"He doesn't have much time left." Tsurugi finished, his voice solemn.
Onyx nodded. It was an unfortunate reality. They had to act fast or else all hope of saving Lucky was lost.
Orion entered the room. Onyx and Tsurugi both looked over at him. Orion definitely had come to like Lucky in the short time they had met. He seemed just as concerned for his well-being as everyone else.
"How is he?" Orion asked.
"Not good. We don't have much time left." Onyx replied.
There was a long silence that followed those words.
"His positivity always brings him good luck." Tsurugi commented, "I've never met a man like this before. Surprisingly, it might be this guy who saves the galaxy."
"That would be a miracle." Orion replied.
"That's right. This is a man who creates miracles."
"Can't argue with that." Onyx added in. "He certainly is a miracle in and of himself."
"That's why I cannot let him die." Tsurugi stated.
Orion walked over to them. "Such compliments from a man like yourself. And Onyx as well. Praise like that from you is hard to come by."
"I'm sure you noticed too. When you fought with Lucky... it awakened that great power."
"That was something to witness." Onyx commented.
"Lucky was apparently born in the Leo system." Tsurugi continued. "Do you get what I'm saying?"
Tsurugi was trying to say something with this? Onyx puzzled over what it could be.
"He came from the future and met you. A miracle's already started." Tsurugi kept talking.
"Tsurugi..." Orion said.
"I will risk my life to save Lucky." Tsurugi looked up at Orion. "That's why I want you and Lucky to create that power again."
An alarm started blaring on the ship. Looks like their peace was over. The enemy had found their hideaway once more.
They pulled up a screen to see Don Armage and Kukuruga leading a giant army of indavers toward their ship. This was not going to be an easy fight.
"Tsurugi-kun, take care of Lucky." Shou's voice came over the screen.
Tsurugi nodded. "Buy me as much time as possible."
Onyx noticed Orion had vanished from the room already. Was he going to try and fight with everyone as well? He really shouldn't in his injured state.
"You better not be dead when we get back." Onyx placed a hand on Tsurugi's shoulder.
"Of course. I don't plan on my legend ending so soon." Tsurugi replied, "And I'm not letting Lucky's end either."
Onyx nodded and then left the room. They went to meet up with everyone at the bridge. By the time they got there, it appeared that Orion had managed to convince them to let him fight.
"Everyone, go!" Shou ordered once Onyx came into view.
"Okyuu!"
Looks like it was time to fight once more. Hopefully things would go smoothly in getting Lucky back to health. If this somehow failed, there would be no time to try anything else. It would end in agony.
The Kyurangers met with Don Armage's army head-on. They weren't going to cower and hide. Maybe... maybe they could defeat him in this era. It was worth a shot.
"You fools, you dare challenge me again?" Don Armage spoke to them as they approached.
"Let's go." Shou stated.
"Yeah."
They pulled out their kyutamas and transformed. It was time to really get serious. They needed to buy Tsurugi as much time as possible. Healing Lucky was not going to be a quick and easy task.
"The Ultimate Saviors! Uchu sentai... Kyuranger!"
"Let's go, future saviors!" Orion said.
They charged into battle. The indavers swarmed them. Kukuruga also got in to get some action. Onyx fell into step behind Orion. They were worried about him. With his injury, he wasn't at his best to be fighting so much.
Orion took a swing at Don Armage. He was thrown away quite easily.
"Why aren't you dead already?!" Don Armage yelled.
"Dead? I'm still quite lively." Champ replied as he attacked Don Armage as well.
"Yeah! Dinner's only just started!" Spada said.
"If Lucky comes, he'll create a miracle." Stinger spoke as well. "That's why we've got to make this last stand!"
Don Armage laughed. "So, you're clinging to miracles now?"
"It's been miracles that have gotten us this far. Why would we stop when they've always come through for us?" Onyx replied.
"Laugh all you want. But you will be defeated by that miracle!" The commander added on.
Don Armage stared Onyx down. "You really wish to believe in foolish hope like this?"
"Call it foolish if you want, but I found a place where I belong. I found people who see me for who I truly am inside. I'll believe in them time and time again." Onyx stated, rushing forward to attack.
But, even they were no match for the power that Don Armage had in this form. They were thrown back. And before long, the rest of their group was in the same position. Don Armage released an attack from above.
Orion tried to block it with a shield, but it gave way and the attack hit them all. Everyone writhed on the ground in pain. Onyx winced as their leg started pounding again. At this rate, their injury would prevent them from fighting anymore.
"You're finished." Don Armage taunted.
"No... not yet." Shou stated as he attempted to push himself to his feet. "We've only just started!"
Onyx's ears twitched at the sound of quiet footsteps. Did that mean...?
"Now... it's time to reveal the main dish." Spada stood back up.
"Man... you kept us waiting." Champ got up.
"Don Armage..." Stinger growled, also getting to his feet. "This is the miracle you denounced!"
Lucky walked up to all of them.
"You're late, kid." Orion stated.
Onyx grunted and shakily got to their feet as well. They were struggling to do so enough to the point Champ lent some help. He pulled them to their feet.
"Can you still fight?" He questioned.
"I'm not going down quietly." Onyx stated.
"Thank you, everyone." Lucky addressed them all.
"How is Tsurugi-kun?" Shou questioned.
A call came through on everyone's blasters.
"It's the birth of another legend." Tsurugi spoke. Onyx was glad to hear his voice. He did it. He actually saved Lucky.
"Do you believe in your luck even in this situation?" Orion asked Lucky.
"Of course." Lucky replied, "Tsurugi sacrificed his own body for me. You and everyone else bought me time. That's why I'm here! Don Armage can be defeated! Alright, lucky!"
Orion smiled. Onyx couldn't recall the last time they had seen him ever do that.
"Just because one more man who should be dead has appeared..." Don Armage spoke, "will not change the fact that the galaxy belongs to me."
"Stop making me repeat myself! The galaxy doesn't belong to you!" Lucky yelled in reply.
"There are countless lives in this galaxy doing their best to live." Orion added. "No one should interfere with their happiness!"
"Just because you feel like their lives are worthless, doesn't mean that everyone else feels that way! Everyone deserves a chance to live their life!" Onyx decided they had some things they wanted to say as well.
"The galaxy... belongs to those living in it!" Orion and Lucky both concluded together.
As they concluded, a light shown in the air. A kyutama started to form in front of Lucky. It felt different than all the others Onyx had ever encountered before.
"This... is just like the one from before." Lucky said.
"Listen, kid. You have the blood of the Orion constellation and the Leo constellation in you." Orion said to Lucky.
"Eh?" Lucky was confused.
"You are my distant descendant." Orion explained and suddenly that conversation with Tsurugi earlier finally made sense to Onyx. Tsurugi had realized that fact the moment the two had been able to combine their powers before.
"I am... your descendant?" Lucky repeated.
"Now... use the power of two constellations."
"Okay." Lucky nodded.
He walked up and grabbed the kyutama. It was... a lot different than the ones everyone had seen up until this point. It was huge. Onyx had no idea a kyutama like that even was possible. But, nonetheless, Lucky activated it.
The Saikou kyutama. No doubt it was going to be quite an extraordinary thing to witness.
"Star Change."
Lucky transformed. He now dawned a white and red suit with a cape.
"Miracle Star. Shishi Red Orion." Lucky changed his intro.
"Least I'm not the only one with two intro calls now." Onyx chuckled a bit.
"The powers of Leo and Orion have combined."
"What a shock! It's the birth of a miraculous warrior!" The commander exclaimed.
"Let's test your luck." Lucky stated.
"It doesn't mean anything to us just because you changed your pajamas!" Kukuruga taunted.
He stretched out his sword and hurled in toward Lucky. Lucky made a portal, sending the attack right back at Kukuruga.
"Eh?" He was shocked.
Lucky's cape stretched out and wrapped its way around Kukuruga. It pulled him toward Lucky. Lucky made another portal and pulled out a weapon from it. He slashed Kukuruga with his sword and that was the end of him.
Just what
