It is the first time I'm writing a short story after so many months spent laboring over a book that still hasn't surfaced. I haven't written a lot of stuff, but I still like to think I can put a sentence or two together.The story is science-fiction and arises from an image prompt of a galaxy cluster positioned in such a way that it looks like a face that's smiling (see the media attached to the story). It got my otaku mind thinking, and in a few minutes of thoughtful brooding, I came up with this idea. After fleshing it out, I started writing it.It feels really good to actually write again, no matter how it came out. I've been in the throes of self-doubt for a long, long time; so long that I stopped critiquing stories (if I can't write them, who am I to criticize them?) and ultimately stopped reading.
