**Authors Note:

This one is a little longer than the others but I couldn't find a way to make it any shorter. I'm sure you guys don't mind haha.

So quick poll update! Kakashi is still in the lead, Gaara is up second with no one in third and Shikamaru is fourth. There have been no new write-ins. I have decided the poll will stay up until either the Hokage summit or once I reach 100 chapters in this book. I will let you know my final decision as soon as I decide!

Itachi

I wasn't sure how to explain it, mostly because I couldn't understand myself. It was really just a feeling. I knew Rin was holding it in, the panic and fear she was feeling from my words but right now that was for the best. She needed to focus, she needed to keep moving forward. Once again there was no time for her to slow down.

"Can I bring you back?" Rin asked and I smiled slightly.

"That is unclear" I admitted.

"Will, I ever see you again?" She asked and I nodded slowly.

"I believe so, remember, our bond runs much deeper than just blood. We've been connected for years by great power and I don't see that power leaving either of us now" I explained gently.

"What am I supposed to do? Leave the village again?"

"If you believe that's what's best then yes Rin, but I think you've spent enough time running." I admitted.

"How am I supposed to control him? I-I can't just let him take control whenever I'm under stress Itachi. He has no limits; he just destroys everything"

"I know, and as I've mentioned now that you're aware it'll much easier for you to access his power and still remain conscious" I explained and she nodded slowly.

"Are you really dead?" She asked and I sighed slightly as I put an arm around her shoulders.

"Part of me, yes. This part of me, I think will continue to live on through you and the jubi" I replied.

"And any struggle you have against him; I'll be here to push you forward" I said firmly and she nodded again as we stared at the fire.

"I miss you" She said suddenly, her voice strained.

"Everyday" I glanced at her, and noticed a tear run down her cheek that she quickly wiped on the back of her hand. I pulled her a little closer into a tight side hug.

"I miss you too" I admitted.

"I only wish our last days together could have been more honest" She smiled slightly and shrugged.

"I always knew Itachi, I knew who you were and are and I never doubted it. Our days together were as honest as they could have been. In the end, you were always who I thought you were" She replied.

"Who's that?" I questioned.

"My big brother" I smiled again about to reply but noticed her flinch, her hand grabbing her head.

"Rin" I said slowly.

"I-I'm fine, I..." She sucked in a sharp breath.

"Rin, what is it?" I asked, worry in my voice.

"H-He's using the Susanoo" She replied through gritted teeth, her hands pressed against her eyes.

"Must be something big if he's drawing on your abilities in this state" I muttered as I took her wrists and gently removed her hands from her eyes.

"Focus" I told her.

"Try to see through your eyes." I said calmly and she released a slow breath, relaxing her face.

"It's blurry," She said.

"That'll be the effects of you Susanoo" I replied.

"Try to see past it" I urged and she fell silent. I could see her eyes moving beneath her eyelids.

"Oh my..." Her voice failed her and the look in her eyes when she opened them made my heart sink.

"What is it?" I asked.

"T-The village is gone" She stammered.

"Is your body okay?" I asked and she nodded slowly.

"I-I think so, but everything was gone. Itachi did, did I..." She stopped then not able to say the words.

"No, if he used your Susanoo chances are you were attacked. It was most likely Pein" I said firmly.

"I-I need to get back; the village needs me. I promised the elders this village would be safe" She said quickly, her voice in a panic.

"You need to take back control," I told her firmly and she nodded.

"Just listen and..."

"Wait!" She shouted suddenly and I paused.

"B-Before I go back, I just, I wanted..." She stumbled over her words and I pulled her into a tight hug.

"Me too" I replied softly. I felt her grip the back of my shirt and knew neither of us wanted to let go. Slowly though she stepped and looked up me, nodding. I put my fingers against her temples and met her gaze, smiling when I did.

"Good luck Rin"

Lady Tsunade

The village erupted outwards, tearing through the gates and slamming into the mountain face. The debris rattled through the streets. The buildings tore from their bearings and the eruption shook the earth until there was nothing left but a crater. It had come on so quickly that I thought we were all goners. The roar of the eruption had been deafening, the blast was overpowering and the village lay in ruins. My ANBU guard, along with myself remained untouched.

"R-Rin" One of my guards stammered. Sure enough, there she was right behind us. Black chakra took the form of a body; a body I could have sworn looked like a certain Uchiha. While white chakra surrounded the four of us, preventing her dark chakra from touching us. When she looked at us her eyes were completely black and I noticed her smirk as she looked up at the creature that surrounded us.

"And for a brief moment her will was greater than mine" She said.

"What?" I asked.

"Nothing Lady Hokage, but if she hadn't pulled this I wouldn't have saved you." She explained and part of me begin to think this wasn't exactly Rin I was talking too. I noticed her attention taken elsewhere as her gaze moved towards the crater.

"The nine tails" She said suddenly.

"N-Naruto?" A guard questioned and she nodded.

"Yes, it seems he's finally decided to make an appearance," She said and I felt relief wash over me. I noticed her flinch as she grabbed her head.

"Are you okay?" I asked walking towards her but stopped when she looked up. The black of her eyes was greying.

"So she wants out" She said darkly.

"Who wants out?" I asked carefully.

"Rin" She replied simply and I took a step back, making her laugh.

"Please, I've tried to kill her comrades before. She won't let me, especially now that shes aware" She explained as she started to walk away.

"Wait, where are you going?" I asked and she paused.

"To finish off Pein"

Naruto

It didn't look like the village. In fact, there was nothing around to say anyone had lived here. There was nothing but dust.

"Wait, I don't get it" The summoning had to be wrong.

"Where's the enemy we're supposed to face?" Gamabunta asked.

"Yeah where are we?" I asked but know one seemed to know until Ma appeared.

"What's going on Ma? Why didn't you summon us to the hidden leaf life we asked?" Fukusaku questioned and I noticed Ma's face fall.

"I'm afraid this is the hidden leaf village" She replied.

"I don't understand, what do you mean Granny Shima?" Gamakichi questioned.

"Just take a good close look around" She replied as the dust settled. In the distance, you could still make out the Hokage's faces on the mountainside.

"It's obvious to me who did all this. I sense the same energies as when we rode atop Jiraiya boy's shoulders" Ma explained.

"I-It wasn't Rin?" I asked, relief in that fact.

"No, I haven't seen the Princess" She replied and I nodded slowly. I could still feel her, close by but as for where I couldn't pinpoint it. She was masking herself.

"Can you find her boy?" Fukusaku asked and I shook my head.

"She's close though" I confirmed. I looked ahead as Pein assembled. Four copies appeared beside him.

"Only five" Fukusaku commented. There was supposed to be six. I was slightly startled when Lady Tsunade appeared before us, anger in her stance as she faced Pein.

"I am the fifth Hokage!" She shouted as an ANBU guard appeared next to her.

"How dare you trample on the dream of my predecessors, I won't forgive you!" She shouted.

"I'll settle this now as Hokage!"

"It appears you now understand pain. However, I have no need of you right now, the one I seek..." Before I could respond a familiar sound stopped me, the sound of a thousand chirping birds. I stepped back as a large black katana sliced into the Pein that shot towards Lady Tsunade. It pinned him to the ground erupting in a mass of lightning and dark chakra. Pein looked surprised as he took a few steps back and there she was, in the middle of this mass of chakra.

"Rin!" I shouted. I noticed her twitch, grabbing her head with one hand, her other extended as if holding a sword.

"Not yet" She muttered, her voice not her own.

"You can't do this child, I can, I..." The voices stopped and her hands lowered, the being around her followed and for a moment I thought she somehow passed out. That was until she let out a small laugh.

"So the Asura path couldn't be reformed but you managed to briefly save the Preta path. Impressive Pein, really you deserve a round of applause for your failed efforts" She mocked.

"So, you took back control" He replied and Rin glanced up her Sharingan burning but the white in her eyes were normal. This was Rin.

"Took you long enough" She said and I smirked slightly.

"Thought you could handle it" She rolled her eyes then and glanced at Tsunade who was staring with wide eyes.

"We've got this Lady Tsunade" She said confidently and glanced at me. I nodded then as I jumped down to her side.

"Gamakichi I want you to take Lady Tsunade someplace safe" I ordered.

"Gotcha!" He responded as he jumped down.

"Keep the rest of the village safe and out of this fight." I told Lady Tsunade and she nodded again. I looked at Rin who seemed to be in an argument with herself.

"Ready?" I asked and her attention came back to me, her signature smirk crossing her lips.

"I've already taken down 2 out of 6, you're the one that needs to catch up" She responded and I smiled slightly.

"Alright" I replied as I faced Pein.

"Let's settle this!"
