**Authors note:

Alright, so here we go starting off the next arc. I work mainly through the dubbed episodes and switch to subbed when I can't find it dubbed haha so for those of you interested we are starting off from Hidan and Kakuzu's first introduction in the actual series.

I will also give a fair warning. In the series, Hidan does swear a lot and I do keep to that but I will keep to as much of a minimum as I can. So here is your warning that there is some foul language.

Another thing is honestly I get my inspiration to write and continue writing. I love reading and replying to your comments and messages.

One more thing is this will probably the last update until Tuesday. My partner is coming into town visit! So I want to give them my full attention since we only have a few days together :)

Also, I have realized that in my absence I haven't kept you all up to date with well me haha. Other than graduating I am also happily engaged!

I hope you enjoy this chapter. I think it turned out pretty good so let me know what you think!**

Hidan

Rin's speed was on par with Itachi. So to say the least she was much faster than Kakuzu and I which is exactly why she had pulled ahead of us. I pulled my triple-bladed scythe from my back and threw it forward as we neared the end of the tunnel. Kakuzu whistled just in time for Rin to look back and realize what was coming for her. She seemed to pick up the pace and disappeared just as my scythe flew through where she had been moments ago.

"Leader warned us already not to kill each other" Kakuzu growled.

"Lucky bitch" I muttered as I stepped from the tunnel. Rin had landed on the staff of my scythe and stood with her arms crossed as she eyed the two-tails host.

"You know I hear it's possible if that you move too slow you can actually start going backward." I rolled my eyes.

"Also next time some warning would be nice before you throw a giant knife at me"

"You were in the way" I argued.

"If it wasn't for me then she would have gotten away" Rin shot back.

"So the Princess and her henchmen, I knew you three were Akatsuki" Rin's eyes flared red as she turned to face the two-tails. I noticed the girl stumble back as Rin stepped off my scythe and onto the water.

"It's Rin, and you are in no position to call me otherwise" She warned.

"Careful Rin, Hidan she's the two-tails jinchuriki host. Underestimate her and she could kill you" Kakuzu warned

"Hidan can't die" Rin said simply.

"And I like a challenge, so this one's mine"

"Take the first go, you're failure will give me time for my prayer" I replied and heard Rin scoff.

"You idiots think you have me trapped, when really I'm the one that trapped you" The two-tails slammed her hands together setting off a train of explosive notes. Rin looked around giving the same look Kakuzu and I had, one of a mild inconvenience rather than an actual problem.

"Looks like we walked into a trap boys"

"I'm Yugito Nii of Kumogakure and you're all dead!" This jinchuriki's attitude was starting to piss me off.

"You'll want to watch making threats like that, when people get full of themselves it's starting to get me annoyed. And when I get annoyed pretty soon I get pissed off and when I get pissed off I might lose my temper..."

"Then count to ten or something. You're an s-rank criminal, try to act like it"

"You're lucky Leader needs you alive"

"We have more pressing matters, you idiots!" Kakuzu's raise in voice made both Rin and I silent. I sighed then and noticed Rin shifting her weight, she was getting as impatient as Kakuzu and I'd rather not deal with both their tempers.

"Why don't you just make this all a lot easier and surrender" I realized then and there that my choice of words may not have been wise. The water around the two-tails began to rise as she dropped to all fours.

"You must be joking!"

"She's all yours!" I shouted over the rushing water. I expected Rin to finally attack or at least make some snarky remark instead when I looked over at her she seemed frozen.

"Hey idiot!" I shouted. She grabbed her head and dropped to her knees as the two-tails emerged. I noticed her knees beginning to sink into the water.

"Rin!" I shouted this time, thinking her name would get her attention but nothing.

"You've got to be fucking kidding me" I muttered. I ran forward as the two-tails took a swing. Kakuzu managed to slow it down as I caught Rin's waist. I jumped back just as the two-tails unleashed a fireball causing the entire building to cave in. I had to shield Rin as chunks of cement fell around us, I felt a burning sensation as I hovered over Rin and had to wait for everything to settle before I could pull back. I pulled aside my Akatsuki cloak looking at the familiar burn marks, marks that were only caused by dark chakra.

"Rin what the..." I stopped realizing she wasn't even conscious. The dark chakra was seeping off her skin without her consent. I raised an eyebrow and ignored the burning as I pushed her head back.

"C'mon Uchiha" I snapped my fingers a few times and sighed.

"Dammit, Rin snap out of it" I punched her then, a strong hook straight to the jaw. Her head snapped to the side but just as quickly snapped back. I stared as I was met with eyes completely black.

"It wasn't you who drew my power" I wasn't sure how to respond. The voice that came from her was deep and raspy. Like a thousand voices trying to speak at once.

"What the hell are you?" The smile Rin gave me was wide and unnatural. It made my skin crawl. She didn't reply as she looked around the concrete slab.

"Well, this is unexpected" The voice mused.

"Where is Rin?" I tried and she turned meeting my gaze.

"Rin's not here right now" I wasn't sure what else to say as her smile fell.

"She will wake once that beast is taken care of. I suggest you hurry"

"Hey wait!" Rin's head fell forward then and her body slumped.

"You've got to be fucking kidding me" I muttered. I looked up Kakuzu stepped beside us.

"What's wrong with her?" He demanded but I wasn't exactly sure how to respond. So I replied with the only thing I could think of.

"Take Rin, this one's mine"

Kakuzu

The fighting had been kept somewhat within the initially destroyed building. I had left Hidan to the battle while I counted the money from Rin's last kills. I glanced down at her. I had moved somewhat farther from the battle and placed Rin on one of the more smoothed slabs of concrete. She had been out since the battle began, but dark chakra had been swirling around her. Now though it was beginning to recede into her body.

"Useless" I muttered and glanced at the two-tails host. She was pinned to what was left of the wall barely alive. Hidan was on the floor with a pipe through his chest.

"It's been 30 minutes, aren't you done yet?" He glanced up then.

"Will you shut up? You're interrupting the ritual!" He shouted.

"Besides Rin isn't even..." His sentence was cut short as Rin slammed her heel into his chest. I heard bones crack under the impact and Hidan groaned. Rin flipped back and landed on her feet.

"That was for punching me" She said shortly.

"You're finally up" I noted and she raised an eye.

"What are...?" She turned and stared up at the two tails.

"I-I don't remember anything" She breathed. She turned to face Hidan as he finally got up.

"What did you do!?" She demanded shoving him hard enough to make him stumble.

"I didn't do anything you little..."

"I refuse to listen to more of your bickering!" I shouted. They both became silent then.

"Tell me what happened" Rin demanded.

"We don't know. Once the two-tails..."

"The two-tails cloak appeared didn't it?" She asked. I noticed Hidan glance down at her, a confused expression in his eyes.

"Has this happened before?" He asked. Rin turned her back to us then.

"We have a mission to complete," She said quickly. I exchanged a glance with Hidan who merely shrugged.

"She's right and you've already made us fall behind." I agreed.

"You two get a head start; I'll seal the body and catch up."

"Make it quick" I replied as I stood.

"I'm not Hidan so that should be no problem" Hidan shoved her arm causing her to stumble. I sighed as Rin shoved him back just as hard. Putting these two on a team was like working with a couple of children.
