**Authors Note: 

So the next one will be the end of the Twelve Gaurdian Arc and also introduce the next arc which I don't if it has a name but it has to do a lot with Hidan and Kakuzu and the Akatuski. 

So that is where we are headed in the story :) 

Also, to make it up to everyone I will be opening up a new series. 

Not really a new series but basically the future of Rin. I mean after the ninja wars, etc. 

I had, had a lot of this already written out. So I will start releasing some sneak peeks, which won't reveal to much but will hopefully give you all something to look foward too. 

Anyways, I'm sorry this one is so short. Closing the arc here would have made it too long and the next one to short so I kind of had to devide the two.

Shikamaru

Ino’s mind transfer hadn’t worked, my shadow possession failed and Choji couldn’t hold him still without getting burned. The third tail was beginning to form on Sora but I was out of ideas. This time when Sora opened his eyes they were red and slit like a fox.

“Sora!”

“Naruto no be careful!” Captain Yamato shouted as Sora raised his claw. I stared wide eyed as Naruto was shoved out of the way.

“Ninja art dark style, dark chain jutsu!” I recognized the voice immediately and stared as she slammed her hands against the ground, chains seemed form from the shadows as they wrapped tightly around Sora. She stood up the chains on her wrists as she turned.

“Yamato I need some extra strength!” She shouted and he nodded creating wood binds as Rin molded the chains with them.

“What’s your plan?” He shouted as she jumped across from Sora. I noticed her shoulders fall with a heavy breath.

“To control it”

“Rin don’t be stupid!” I shouted and she turned glancing back at me as her Sharingan began to change.

“Bind him, I don’t know if this will work” Was all she said before turning back. She put her fingers to her mouth and whistled gaining its attention. I noticed the dark chakra beginning to seep off her skin.

“Shikamaru do as she said!” Captain Yamato shouted.

“But she’s going to get herself killed!”

“If you don’t help she won’t stand a chance!” I put my hands together then and stretched my shadow to catch Sora’s. I could feel him fighting against me and noticed Rin become still as there gazes met. 

“What is she doing?” I muttered and felt Sora’s resistance become less as he stared at Rin. I noticed her clench her fists slightly as she stepped forward. .  

“Damn Uchiha!” Rin turned breaking her gaze as the white haired man shot after her. Asuma Sensei shot after him managing to force him away from her. I felt it then the resistance returned only this time it was full force.

“Rin watch out!” I shouted. She turned back just as my jutsu broke. Sora turned ripping through the wood and chains slamming his arm straight into Rin. She flew back sliding across the ground and stopping only when she slammed into a tree.

“Rin!” I ran for slid to a stop once I reached her. I leaned forward about to take her but she raised her hand.

“Y-You need to run”

“Rin you’re hurt” She shook her head.

“N-No I, I can do this” She replied as she began to push herself to her feet.

“Rin, stop!” I reached for arm only to snatch my hand back. I stared down at my hand as the dark chakra disappeared but burn marks remained.

“I-I’ll be okay”

Rin

I shot forward then and slid down the edge of the crater. I could hear Shikamaru’s protest and even the others warning me to turn back but I knew what I had to do.

“Naruto!” I shouted and in the same moment he turned I activated my sharingan once more.

**Nine tails**

I opened my eyes, around me were faded walls and I stood on water that seemed to cover every inch of the room. I felt a slight chill and turned staring wide eyed as I met a pair of familiar red eyes.

“So it’s you again”

“Again?” I asked and he chuckled darkly.

“You look like someone I knew.” He seemed to correct and I let it slide.

“So are you here to stop me young Uchiha?” I shook my head then and turned slightly when I heard footsteps.

“He is, I just needed make sure he made  it here” Naruto stared at me then back at the fox and at me once more.

“You have to help, Sasuke supressed his chakra once can’t you?”

“If I tried probably but this has to be you Naruto, you have the power. Power that can be far greater than the Sharingan, use it.” I told him.

“Greater than the Sharingan?” I nodded and grabbed my head when I felt a jolt run through it.

“Leave child!”

I stumbled back slightly and dropped to a knee as I took a heavy breath. I clenched my teeth as the jolt hit me again and looked down at my hands as the dark chakra began to withdraw.

“Rin” I glanced up and released a sigh of relief when I met Naruto’s blue eyes. The nine-tails cloak was gone but still covered Sora. Naruto offered his hand.

“Do you have a plan?” He asked. I took his hand and he pulled me to my feet. I looked at Sora.

“My plan was my Sharingan” I admitted.

“Why didn’t it work?”

“Because you have a tailed beast inside you Naruto, it has its own consciousness, something to control. What Sora has is empty” I explained.

“Then what can…” I saw the movement from the corner of my eye, the red chakra extending towards us. I shoved Naruto hard enough to send him flying out of the way. I felt my own body move without my control just as the chakra tore through the earth. I nearly stumbled when I landed, but managed to see a shadow retreat from mine. I looked towards Shikamaru and realized it had been his jutsu.

“Don’t drop your guard” He shouted.

“Sora snap out of it! Wake up already”

“Naruto wait!” I shouted but he was already running for Sora. I ran for Naruto just as Sora threw him across the crater. I cringed when his body slammed into mine and felt my feet slide back. I looked down at Naruto in my arms and back at Sora. This was starting to become more than I bargained for.

“Rin, give me Naruto” I was surprised to see Sakura but did as she asked. I stepped between the two of them and Sora and released a slow breath.

“Alright enough is enough” I heard Shikamaru’s voice yelling for us to clear out. I chose to ignore him as I started my hand signs just as Sora formed a ball of chakra from his mouth. I slammed my hands together and felt the pull of the shadows as the chakra from Sora became larger.

“Ninja art, dark style; shadow transportation jutsu!” I kept my hands tightly pressed together as the chakra expanded. I kept my focus as the darkness began to overtake his blast and the area became silent as it formed a perfect sphere, then in a blink of an eye the blast was gone. I looked at my hands, waiting for any sign of weakness. I waited for the pull in my gut but there was nothing.

“Rin, that was…”

“The last time I used that jutsu I nearly killed myself” I had grown so accustomed to the violent reaction of my illness that I still wasn’t used to being cured, this seemed unnatural in a way.

“Rin” I looked back at Naruto as he shakily got to his feet.

“G-Get Sakura out of here, this is between Sora and me.” I stared at him a moment and eventually nodded.

“Sakura let’s get back to the others”
