Kakashi
I flipped through the pages of Make-out Paradise deluxe edition; a get well gift from Master Jiriya. Unfortunately, as I looked through the pages all I could think of was Rin when she discovered exactly what it was that I was reading.
"Well, it sounds like they're finally here." I closed the book and placed it on my nightstand as Lady Tsunade, Shizune and a familiar face walked in.
"Long time no see Kakashi" I stared at him slight surprise.
"So this is the Yamato you were talking about. Go figure" I shrugged slightly but flinched at the motion.
"That's right. While I'll be filling in as Captain for Team Kakashi Yamato is my codename sir." He explained.
"You don't say." I replied.
"Which leads me to why I brought him here, if he's to be heading out with your team Kakashi I want him to know what exactly he'll be dealing with" Lady Tsunade began and I nodded slightly.
"What we're about to tell is the main reason you were selected as Kakashi's replacement" Jiriya started.
"Is this about Naruto sir?" Yamato asked and I nodded.
"Exactly. You already know that Naruto has the nine tails fox spirit sealed inside him. There are times that the nine tails chakra will start to leak out of Naruto's body and take on the fox spirits form. We've been referring to it as the nine-tails cloak." I explained and noticed his eyes widen.
"The nine tails cloak, my god. How often has this been happening to him?" He demanded.
"As recently as our last mission. When he's overcome by his emotions the nine tails charka begins to surface engulfing his entire body; revealing the nine tails cloak. Judging by the shape the cloak was taking, the number of tails will grow and eventually there will be nine." I explained.
"That about sums it up." Master Jiriya added.
"How many tails have you seen?" I asked and he began to pull off his vest.
"There have only been two times in my life that I've been close to death; the first time I broke six ribs, two arms, and ruptured a handful of internal organs. That's when I was caught doing research at a hot spring and Tsunade beat me like a drum" I glanced at Lady Tsunade who seemed not have any shame or regret of the incident.
"The second time was back when Naruto and I were off training together and the fourth tail appeared" I stared at the gaping scar in his chest; it looked like someone had dug into his skin and pulled out a chunk.
"Is that all then?" Yamato asked and Lady Tsunade sighed.
"No, there is one more problem. Rin Uchiha"
"The Princess?" Yamato replied and she nodded.
"As I've read from the missions report she's made herself much more presently known. You're mission requires you meeting with a spy for Orochimaru; Rin has currently been training under him so you may encounter her."
"Nothing I can't handle" He replied confidently and I supressed a snicker.
"Kakashi why don't you explain?" Lady Tsunade asked and I nodded.
"Rin has become brilliantly powerful and with her sharingan she pays exceptionally close detail to the entire battle. Plus her sharingan also gives her an extremely dangerous genjutsu ability. She's a master swordsmen; excels in lightning and fire jutsu and keep in mind that she is known for her skills as an assassin"
"Is that all?" Yamato asked and I shook my head.
"No her Sharingan is always a major problem. She has it developed to her mangekyo although she doesn't use it unless pushed to. She's very smart, but above that stands her dark chakra and curse mark." He stared at me and I felt Lady Tsunade's and Master Jiriya's eyes on me as well.
"Dark chakra? That hasn't been seen since the first ninja war. It was deemed a forbidden jutsu and all knowledge of it was destroyed." I chuckled grimly.
"Yeah well that's why she's training with Orochimaru. I haven't seen her full capability in dark chakra so that's what you should be cautious of" He nodded slightly.
"So what advantages do I have?"
"You're experience. She's hot-tempered, reckless, impulsive, impossible, proud, ignorant, stubborn, determined..."
"Kakashi!" I snapped from my rant realizing I had begun to ramble and released a sigh.
"My apologies. Look her biggest weakness is..." I paused; did I have a right to share that? That her family was her biggest weakness. That mention of it would hurt her more than any physical wound. Could I put her through that?
"Her weakness Kakashi?" Master Jiriya asked.
"Is her soft spot...for the leaf village and her teammates" I replied finally. I knew how she got, how angry and hurt she got. I almost laughed at myself; I couldn't hurt after all she's done, after the hell she's put me through.
"Well then if that's it we better let Kakashi get some rest." I watched as Lady Tsunade, Yamato and Shizune left my room but Master Jiriya remained keeping his eyes on me.
"That's not her real weakness is it?" He asked the second they closed the door and I slowly shook my head.
"No" I heard him sigh.
"There isn't much one can hold to an Uchiha Kakashi, anything could help."
"I told them her strengths and a list of her flaws, he's an Anbu so he should be able to handle it" I replied shortly. I could see the sympathy in his eyes as he stepped up.
"I know you want to protect her Kakashi but you need to get your priorities straight. You can't put her before your village"
"She doesn't deserve anymore pain. She's been hurt so much; if I told him her weakness and she discovered it was me. Could you imagine how much pain that would cause her? I couldn't live with myself if I knew I caused it." I admitted. I heard him sigh and it was silent for a moment until he walked to my bedside; I noticed the slight smile on his face.
"You've got it bad." I stared at him for a moment and sighed before closing my eyes and leaning into my pillow. There was no point in arguing, at least not with him. He was right after all.
Sasuke
I could see her muscles tense and relax as she moved; sweat dripped from her forehead onto the floor as Kabuto added another weight. The second Rin got back Orochimaru pushed her straight into training. I'll admit she excelled in many things but she lacked in physical strength which is why Kabuto decided to focus on that today. Currently she was in a handstand position with her legs in a perfect split while Kabuto added weights to each leg increasing the intensity and expecting her to hold herself up. She had pulled her hair back but her bangs still touched the floor. She had discarded her gear and was in her training gear. I could see her arms beginning to shake under the weight and her elbows began to bend.
"Keep your arms straight" Kabuto pushed as she released a groan as she pushed herself straight.
"Alright legs up."
"Y-You've got to be kidding me" She managed through clenched teeth.
"C'mon legs up" I could see her clenching her teeth as she shut her eyes tight and with a groan she managed to lift her legs out of the split.
"Alright now hold" He said. It seemed like a while, maybe five minutes until finally her arms gave way and she slammed into the floor. She was breathing hard as she lay there while Kabuto merely walked up checked her pulse for a minute then took her wrists snapping on a set of weights to each. He hit a button on the wall and chains dropped from the ceiling.
"Alright you have to climb these to the top, when you reach up there grab onto that bar and do ten chin ups. Come back down and repeat adding ten. Keep going till you reach one hundred" She sat up slowly and looked up then at Kabuto.
"You're kidding right?" He shook his head.
"Go on, you're bother will supervise. Once you're done that's it for the day. Then we go again tomorrow" She let out a frustrated groan which he seemed to ignore as he left the training area.
"Better get started" I told her to which she cursed as she pulled herself off the ground and took hold of the chains. I leaned against the wall behind me and set my sword down; this would take a while.
===================================================================
I walked back to the training room, when Rin reached fifty Kabuto had taken over for the last stretch. I looked up expecting to see Rin finishing off but instead she lay on the floor with Kabuto kneeling over her writing things on a clipboard. I stood staring until he got up and began walking past me.
"She did well, an ice bath is waiting in her bathroom" He said simply before leaving the training area. I walked over to her, she had her eyes closed and was panting hard while sweat dripped off her body.
"Are you okay?" I asked and slowly she opened her eyes to squint up at me.
"Can't move" She managed. I knelt down and unstrapped the weights throwing them inside. I noticed her body shaking slightly and I took her hands helping her to her feet. She tried to step forward only to collapse into my arms.
"I can't walk" I released a slight sigh and swiftly picked her up.
"How exactly are you supposed to train tomorrow?" I asked.
"No idea" She admitted as I carried her down the hall and kicked open her bedroom door.
"Kabuto had an ice bath ready for you." She began to whine in protest but I was already in her bathroom.
"Suck it up Princess" I teased and she shot me a glare that was broken a sharp inhale as I lowered her into the ice bath.
"I h-hate you, I-I hate you, I-I h-hate you" She managed through chattering teeth as she sunk into the tub. I smirked slightly.
"Not my fault you lack in physical strength"
"I-I'm an a-assassin who d-depends on s-speed, a-agility and flexibility. T-Too much muscle g-gets in the way" She hissed through chattering teeth. I rolled my eyes as splashed some of the water on her face.
"Just relax." She released a shaky sigh as she wiped off her face and closed her eyes. I noticed her lips pull into a slight smile.
"What?"
"Nothing, just memories."
"Like?" I questioned further.
"Wh-when my curse mark would f-flare, and I'd cry every time M-mom put me in an ice bath so y-you decided to sit in there with me so I w-wouldn't and it'd always get you s-sick" I supressed a smile.
"I'm pretty sure were too old for that." She managed to reach out of the ice and shove my arm.
"Obviously but it's a nice memory, y-you know we used to be close" I stared at her as she sat there with her eyes closed. She looked so much like mother it almost pained me, even the way she spoke sometimes was like her. I sighed as I rested my head in my arms; she was still my little sister and even if I didn't show it often, I still tried to care about her. Even if she didn't realize it she knew the exact words to weaken my hardened heart.
