At College Francoise DuPont, in Mrs. Jones' classroom, after she went through attendance, Mrs. Jones opened the box on her desk and holds it out towards everyone.

Mrs. Jones: Okay, you all know what we're gonna do today?

Max: Textbook check out?

Mrs. Jones: Yes, Max. We'll be checking out your new textbooks.

Chloe: (filing her nails) Ugh, more textbooks. Can't this school just lower the budget of making us learn stuff we can barely do?

Sabrina: It's best for us to get stuff like this, Chloe. It helps stimulates the mind.

Chloe: (waving Sabrina off) Blah, blah, blah. You explaining it makes my brain hurt.

Sabrina: But... *Chloe placed a finger on Sabrina's lips. *

Chloe: Zip it. *Sabrina nod her head yes and looked straight ahead. *

Mrs. Jones: (showing them the new science textbook) These will be your new textbooks for the whole semester. We're gonna do this: form a single file line, no pushing or shoving, grab a book, and I'll check it out for you. but on a side-note, do not lose your textbook. It costs over 100-euros, so please don't lose these books.

Alya: (whispering to Marinette) Hear that?

Marinette: (whispering to Alya) I learned my lesson.

Mrs. Jones: Okay, come on up and let's get started. Single file I say. *Everyone stands up from their seats, in a straight line, and proceeds with the textbook check out. In Mr. Scott's music class, Mr. Scott went over the lesson plan in his class. *

Mr. Scott: Today we will talk about Steady Beat in music. Steady beat is the most fundamental concept in music. It's the ongoing, steady, repetitive pulse that occurs in songs, chants, rhymes, and music. It's the part that makes you want to tap your toes, clap your hands, or jump up and dance like no one is watching. *Joshua raised his hand. * Yes, Joshua?

Joshua: Is there a specific rhythm to keep the steady beat when we play our instruments?

Mr. Scott: I'm glad you asked. *He opened his desk drawer, pulled out a metronome, and showed it to everyone. * This is a metronome. It's a device that produces a click at a regular interval of time. You can set how fast you would like it to go based on beats per second. Mechanical metronomes, which have been around for several centuries, have a pendulum that swings back and forth.

Joshua: Guess that answers my question.

Mr. Scott: Watch how it works. *He moved the needle until it starts to tick-tock side to side. * Hear the rhythm of the metronome? *Everyone answered yes to Mr. Scott. * It's the rhythm, this will help keep the beat in a steady pulse to help musicians play rhythms accurately. *Katie looked at her saxophone and grinned. *

At the Agreste Mansion, in the Atelier, Gabriel goes over his designs on his tablet, the door knocked.

Gabriel: Come in. *The door opened and Emilie walked in, he saw who was the door, he grinned at Emilie. * Hello, my dear.

Emilie: (holding a cup of tea) Tea, honey?

Gabriel: (taking the cup of tea) Thank you. *He takes a sip and Emilie looks at the screen. *

Emilie: Working on new designs?

Gabriel: Something that's Fall attire. Just don't know what.

Emilie: (taking his hand and gently stroke it) I'm sure you'll think of something.

Gabriel: If it was that easy. *He drinks more of his tea. * With me traveling and trying to bring up the Agreste Brand, life's been tough... since you were in a coma. *Emilie looked sad at Gabriel and she hugged him. *

Emilie: Remember when you gave me the miraculous of the Peacock? *Gabriel sighed and looked up. Flashback montage: Outside the Agreste mansion, young Gabriel and Emilie are having a picnic together. A heartfelt Monarch watches as past Gabriel kneels down in front of Emilie and presents her the damaged Peacock Miraculous. *

Young Emilie: (giggles)

Young Gabriel: For you. Are you sure you're ready?

Young Emilie: Yes. *Young Gabriel places the Peacock Miraculous on her hand. The two stand up as Young Gabriel scoops up Young Emilie in a bridal carry. The two proceeded to walk inside the mansion. Flashback moment over, Gabriel wiped his left eye, Emilie gently stroke his hand. *

Gabriel: That was when I gave you the damaged Peacock miraculous and it put you in a coma. I tried and tried to get the Ladybug earrings and the Black Cat ring to bring you back to life, but... I failed you.

Emilie: I didn't want you to do that. Should've known that there were consequences in using the miraculous in making a wish.

Gabriel: Now... I know. All that matters is your back and I don't want to make that mistake ever again. *They hold each other in a warm embrace for a while. *

Emilie: I know something that might cheer you up. I'm going to the bakery and get something for everyone.

Gabriel: See if they have an carrot cake. That'll be our dessert for dinner.

Emilie: Okay. And some macarons too?

Gabriel: Any kind is okay.

Emilie: Okay. *She kissed him on the cheek, took her purse, and leaves the Atelier, Gabriel looked over the screen and sighed. In the bakery, Marin and Tom get the fresh baked ginger snap cookies out of the oven, letting them cool off before serving it out. *

Tom: (holding two cupcake pans- one flavor vanilla and one flavor carrot cake) mind helping Shang with the cream puffs?

Marin: Sure thing, dad. *He walked over to Shang and helped him put the cream filling on the cream puff. At the counter, Mulan rang up the customer with a chocolate brownie order, Mushu get the order of 6 brownies, closed up the box, and put the box on the counter. *

Mulan: Here you go, sir.

Male customer: (taking the box off the counter) Thank you.

Mulan: You're welcome. *He leaves the bakery with his brownies. Then, the door opened and Melanie walked inside. *

Melanie: Here's the money from the two delivery routes.

Mulan: (takes the money and count it) Hmm. 10-euros, okay. *She opened the register and put the money inside. Then, the door opened again, Emilie walked inside. * Hello, ma'am and welcome to the Boulangerie Patisserie. How many we help you?

Emilie: I heard this bakery is the best in Paris, correct?

Mulan: You heard right, ma'am.

Emilie: Okay. Um... I would like a whole carrot cake and 1 dozen macarons, please?

Mulan: (putting in the total) Okay. 1 whole carrot cake and what flavor macarons would you like? We got vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, macha green tea, pistachio, blueberry lemon, white chocolate, mint chocolate, cookies and cream, orange cream, neapolitan, cotton candy, red velvet, blueberry...

Emilie: I'll have 12 vanilla macarons, please?

Mulan: (putting in the total) Okay, your total is 14-euros.

Emilie: 14 euros? I had no idea it would cost this much. *She opened her purse, get out her credit card, handed it to Mulan, and scanned it. *

Mulan: (handing it back to Emilie) Well our whole cakes and pies are 8-euros each and a dozen macarons cost 6-euros each.

Emilie: Even buying one?

Mulan: (Melanie and Mushu get the orders ready to go) 1 macaron is a euro each.

Emilie: Hmm, interesting.

Melanie: (putting one box on the counter) Here's the cake.

Muhsu: (putting another box on top of the other box) Here you go.

Mulan: Your carrot cake and one dozen vanilla macarons.

Emilie: (taking the boxes) Thank you. *She leaves the bakery with her order, heads back to the car, Gorilla head to the front row seat, and drive back to the Agreste Mansion. *

Mulan: Who was that lady? *Marin stepped out of the kitchen, holding two trays of cookies. *

Marin: Fresh cookies, coming out.

Melanie: (helping Marin put the fresh baked cookies in display) That's Emilie Agreste, the husband of Gabriel Agreste.

Marin: Who's a famous fashion designer.

Mulan: Never seen her before.

Marin: (rubbing the back of his neck) It's kind of hard to explain.

Mulan: I get it. No need to explain.

Marin: Thank you, Melanie.

Melanie: You're welcome. *He walked back to the kitchen and help his dad out. *

At College Françoise DuPont, in Mrs. Jones' class, after the textbook check out, it was time for science class.

Mrs. Jones: Okay, now that you all got your textbooks, let's get started on our first lesson. *She picked up the chalk as she opened her textbook. * Turn to page 5 to chapter 1: Nature of Science. The topic we will discuss is the Principles of Science. Science is different from other types of information because scientists follow rigorous methods to learn about the world. A scientific idea must be testable and falsifiable. Ideas that are not supported by observations and data are revised or thrown out. The distinction between science and other ways of understanding the world is important because scientific information has been obtained with much more rigor than ideas that are the result of opinion, gut feelings, or faith. Scientists use the scientific method to answer questions about the natural world. The scientific method is not linear but takes on this basic structure: Ask a question, do background research, propose a hypothesis, test the hypothesis using data from observations and experiments, continue testing the hypothesis if it holds up or find a new hypothesis if it does not, eventually create a theory. A theory is an explanation of a complicated set of phenomena that fits virtually all of the available data. The theories of evolution, plate tectonics, and climate change are crucial to understanding earth science. We will learn about the chemistry of science. Some of you have taken chemistry as part of a science course last year, right?

Alya: (raised her hand) Ms. Mendeleiev taught us chemistry once.

Mrs. Jones: Good to hear. So you all know a little bit of chemistry from last year or from a different school, and it's good. The topics in this chapter are: Studying Chemistry, Classification of Matter, Properties of Matter, Units of Measurement, Uncertainly in Measurements, Dimensional Measurements, and both Matter and Measurements exercises and summary assignments.

Chloe: (annoyed) So boring.

Mrs. Jones: We will discuss Studying Chemistry. *She cleared her throat and started reading the section about the topic, everyone read along in their textbooks. At the La Fromagerie, business from there has been slow lately, people barely come to the cheese shop anymore. Mr. Rogerson, the owner of the shop, walked to the front counter where his current employer, John scrolls through his phone as he looked at his clipboard and holding a pen. *

Mr. Rogerson: I have to call the delivery guy for the next cheese delivery for next week, then I need to... *He looked straight ahead and saw John by the counter. * John!

John: (startled, almost dropping his phone) Y-yes, Mr. Rogerson?

Mr. Rogerson: Instead of looking at your phone, would you mind looking around the shop for a moment? *John looked around the shop and he saw no one in the shop. *

John: There's no one inside the shop, sir.

Mr. Rogerson: You're right. Because we haven't had a customer in three days. I wonder why.

John: My guess is that other cheese shop across from us.

Mr. Rogerson: What? *He rushed to the front door and opened, he saw people outside of the other cheese shop, he looked at the shop title on the roof. * La Fermette? Pish-posh! That's nothing.

John: I don't know. They're pretty packed inside.

Mr. Rogerson: Not for long they won't be when we get our business back and running again. Come with me, John. We got some brainstorming to do.

John: (following Mr. Rogerson to his office) Yes, Mr. Rogerson.
