I wake up at about 8 and I head out. I stopped by Jack N' The Box and got some croissants. As Im eating I track the receiver on Cali's phone. She's at 6785 London Lane. I pulled out the parking lot and continue on the search for my bestfriend.

I was speeding, going 10 over the limit, the police stopped me. Shit.

They ran my name and I was clean. He reluctantly let me go. I reached the street and had no idea where to start looking. I chose the hotel on the left. I walked in and saw people everywhere. As I walked up to the front desk, I was greeted by a lady in a hotel uniform.

"How may I help you sir?"

"I'm looking for a room with my brother in it. Mike Davis"

"I'll run his name for you. Just a moment. "

I sat there and waited.

"Room 231, third floor"

I ran up the stairs cause the elevator was too crowed.

I looked around and found the room. I saw a dude with a food cart coming the opposite direction.

"Hey what room is that for?"

"231"

"I'll take it to them, family surprise. "

"Of course " He pushed me the cart and handed me his hat.

I pushed the hat down to where it covered my face. I took a deep breath and I knocked on the door.

Mike opened the door and got out the way.

"What's for lunch " he said.

I opened the lids on the tray and unveiled the pizza. He looked at the pizza and I saw Cali sit up on the bed.

"What's that? " she said. Her voice sounded like she'd been crying.

"Lunch, aye thanks man. Uh, I ain't catch your name" he said looking down pulling out a $20 bill.

"Aye, you got something on your face bro " I said as he handed me the money.

"Oh, what is it? " he said.

"My fists bruh " I caught him off guard with a right jab to the eye and a left hook to the stomach. He groaned in pain and feel to the floor. Cali looked at me with terror, like she thought she was next.

"By the way, the name's N'Shawn "

I took the hat off and ran to the bed.

"SHAWN!!"

"Shhhhh Cali, come on."

I picked her up and closed the door behind us. I raced down the stairs and out the side door, where I had parked my car. I gently placed her in the backseat, covered her with a blanket from home and kissed her forehead. I got in the driver's seat and headed back to the motel I stayed last night.
