"Alright! The first semester is done!" I beamed jogging down the stairs of the school.

"You got that right!" Rin said happily.

I made it to the bottom of the staircase and turned around, waiting for Rin to catch up. But then I saw some of our classmates behind Rin. They talked with Rin for a bit as other students kept walking by and made their way home. Shima was hitting on Izumos' friend and offered his number to her. He had a piece of paper with his number on it as he waved it from side to side. A poor attempt to tempt her into taking the paper.

"Ooh gimme that!" I said as I yanked the paper from his hand.

Shima turned and looked at me, he was blushing and Izumo and her friend looked shocked. As did Bon and Konekomaru, however, Rin looked hurt. 'Why does Rin look hurt?' I couldn't help but think I accidentally did something to him. I was about to ask him what was wrong but Shima started to speak.

"I didn't know you were into me." Shima said smugly.

"Huh? No, you're my friend, I just want to spam you with memes over summer break." I looked at him confused.

Rin's face softened and his expression turned into relief. He then busted out laughing, he began laughing so hard he started crying. I looked at him confused. "You got friend-zoned so hard!" Rin said between laughs, this made Izumo and her friend giggle. Shima sighed and looked disappointed. Did I lead him on somehow and not know or is it just because he got on a crush on me somehow?

Humans confuse me...

"Oh, this is going to be amazing!" I yelled as I grabbed my bag and put it on my back as if it was nothing.

Rin, Yukio, and I seemed to be the only ones not struggling to carry our bags through the woods. Rin was even carrying Shura's bag. I was constantly looking at every plant and tree, taking in all the new smells and sights. "Have you ever been out in the woods?" Yukio asked me curiously. I turned around and looked at him with a serious face. "Not even once." I turned back around and found a round smooth and shiny rock. I gasped loudly and picked it up. "What? What's wrong?" Rin asked coming up to my side, I took his hand and dropped the rock into his hand.

"I found a cool rock!" I smiled big.

He looked down at the rock and smiled softly then looked back at me. He gave me the rock back.

"You're cute when you get excited."

And with that, he walked up ahead to where Yukio and Shura were. "I'm keeping this rock." I mumbled to myself as I shoved it into my pocket. I touched my cheek and it was warm to the touch but warmer than usual. We made it to a clearing in the forest and we all stopped walking. We sat our bags down and listened to Yukio's instructions. The guys were going to start a fire and put up tents while we gals, got to put up our protection seals. I grabbed some chalk and started drawing the protection seal. Once I finished I put the chalk away and sat down on the ground drinking some water from my bottle.

It's now night time and we finished eating dinner, which Rin kindly made. "I always forget how good of a cook you are Rin." I said finishing my plate. "How? I make dinner every night!" He stated confused. "Every night?" Izumo asked confused. "Yukio, (Y/n), and I live in the same dorm by ourselves." Rin explained. Shima started to mumble as he had his perverted daydream face. Rin, who was sitting right next to him, smacked him on the back of his head. "I said not to talk about her like that!" Rin growled. 'So it was me he defended a while back.. so sweet.' I thought to myself.

Yukio gave us our first mission, find a lantern in the woods and bring it back to camp. Sounds easy enough. There are only three of them though and nobody seems to have the idea to work together. I'll be the first one back with my lantern, a piece of cake. After all, I am the fourth most powerful demon. "Good luck Rin." I smiled, "Good luck (y/n)." Rin replied. I ran into the forest with the others except we all went our separate ways. The best thing about doing this at night means I can use my demonic power to help me out and no one would be able to see my black flames.

Little moths started to swarm me as I kept running in one direction. They were pretty annoying. "Get away from me! You're so annoying!" I yelled, my black flames emitting from my body. The moths all flew away and so my flames died down. Some of them dropped dead to the ground. "I'm annoying huh?" I heard an all too familiar voice speak. I stopped running and turned around, there I saw Amaimon. "Are you stalking me now? Jeez, you'd think the dumpy would do that not the dumper." I spoke annoyed as I kept walking. He sped walked up to me and groaned.

"How many times do I have to say this? I didn't want to break up with you, you made Gehenna not boring."

"Then why'd you leave me?"

"My father didn't want me with you, he wanted to kill you, because of your status. You know this. What you don't know is that he and I made a deal." He said floating around bored.

"And that was?" I asked less annoyed.

"I break up with you, he spares you."

He stopped floating and stood in front of me. "You made a deal with your dad to save me?" I asked and he nodded. "That doesn't sound anything like you." I shoved past him and kept walking. "If it doesn't sound like me then why are you here? You know he could've done something to you by now but he hasn't!" He spoke now annoyed, I stopped walking in my tracks and turned around. "I guess you're right.." I spoke walking back up to him. I cupped his cheek with my hand and softly smiled.

"Thank you, for saving me." I kissed his cheek and stepped back. "But I found someone else, so please leave me alone." I turned around and started to walk away. "It's Rin, isn't it?" He asked, I sighed and stopped walking again. He's going to make me lose if he doesn't leave me alone. "Yes, I like him a lot. And, I think he likes me back. Now please, leave me alone. I'm doing a test right now." I stopped in my tracks and walked up to him.

"You better leave him alone too."

"No promises. Bye, (nickname)."

"Bye, Maimon.."

He left so I kept running, I must've been running for hours because it was now almost sunrise. I found a lantern! "Ahah! Yes!" I cheered to myself, I examined it, it had this seal on it. So, does that mean this is a type of demon? Well, that should make it easier for me to transport. I took out my match and lit the lantern. As soon as it was lit, it came to life and started chasing me.

"Fucking shit!" I yelled as I started to run.

I needed to get it back to camp quickly before the sun comes up. Judging by how the sky looks, I'd say I'd have about five hours left. I ran in a straight line toward camp, occasionally I would look behind me to see if it was still chasing me and how far behind it was. I turned my head and saw the camp within sight, I sighed and sped up. So did the lantern. "I'm back!" I yelled. I crossed the protective seal and splashed water on the flame, putting it out. It stopped moving so I put my hands on my knees and started panting. Yukio walked over to me and patted my back, he handed me a water bottle. I gladly took the bottle and chugged half of it.

"You're the first one back." He said impressed.

"How'd you do that?" Shura asked.

"Demon....black flame...night...running.." That's all I was able to say, I've done hours of running without many breaks.

"You're the (Y/n) (L/n)!?" Shura exclaimed.

All I could do was nod and give her a thumbs-up, I plopped down on the ground and poured some water on my face. It felt cool and refreshing and made me feel much better. I shook my head shaking off the water satisfied with the cooling sensation it gave me. "Where's everyone else?" I asked.

"They're not back yet, you're the first one here." Yukio said looking at his watch.

"Sweet." I raised my arm and gave him a thumbs-up before letting it fall back down to the ground next to me.

"Congratulations you pass. You can stay here and catch your breath, do homework, study, or go out and try to find them to encourage them." Yukio explained.

I got up and stretched and drank the rest of my water. I put my hair up out of my face. I couldn't help but think about what Amaimon said, he saved me, because he loved me. Maybe I'm being too harsh on him and I should apologize. But, his deal cost me my family and home...but then again, he could only do so much when it comes to bargaining with Satan.

Maybe I should apologize to him?

I don't know what to do...
