Y/N: (wakes up) Ruby. Ruby.

Ruby: Ugh. Five more minutes.

Y/N: Red.

Ruby: Ten more minutes.

Y/N: You went higher.

Ruby: Take it or leave it.

Y/N: I apologize my dear Red but you left me no choice. Zwei! Come here!

Zwei came running and jumped on Ruby. The dog began licking her face.

Ruby: Zwei! Stop! Friendly fire!

But Zwei didn't stop. There was no mercy to
be given, only Zwei. Though Zwei's terror on Ruby was a short reign as she manage to grab him, stopping Zwei from licking her.

Zwei: Bark!

Ruby: Fine Y/N. You won.

Y/N: I shall remember what you did today for me Zwei.

Ruby: Anyways shouldn't we get ready?

Y/N: Yeah.

Yang: (in background) I'm going inside the bathroom. Already put my clothes.

Ruby: Do you think we can go to the lake?

Y/N: I mean shouldn't you ask your father?

Ruby taking that for a yes zoomed off only to arrive seconds later.

Ruby: He said yes!

Y/N: Great but wait. Ruby, remember how I barely found out about the lake?

Ruby: (excitedly) Yes!

Y/N: Meaning I never brought anything for wearing as I never knew there was a lake.

Yang: (from the restroom) Don't worry Y/N. Uncle Qrow got you covered.

Qrow: I heard my name.

Ruby: Uncle Qrow, Uncle Qrow. Where's the clothes you got for Y/N?

Qrow: That? Truth be told I kinda walked in the wrong store and thought why not. Should be in your room. Well I'm going to Tai.

As Yang got out of the bathroom Ruby tried to make a run to it before Y/N. In hindsight she forgot Y/N's condition, but gets stopped right before she can enter.

Ruby: Yang! I was first!

Yang: Y/N, you go. I need to have a talk with my sister.

Y/N: Alright.

Yang: Ruby, you do realize by going to the lake you know what that means right?

Ruby: Water and having a good time?

Yang: Yes but actually no. Y/N will see you in your swimwear and you'll see him shirtless.

Ruby was wide eyed as she began to imagine the prospect of what Yang said.

Yang: Yang says good luck with that. I need to find something to wear.

With that Yang left, leaving Ruby to wonder about it. By the time you all got ready Tai was already packing up the essentials.

Tai: Just not my luck. We're out of fire dust crystals.

Qrow: Let me guess. Ruby's visit?

Yang: Yeah.

Qrow: Just order pizza. Not like they'll care.

Tai: I guess but it's a shame.

Qrow: Yeah, too bad Y/N can only create ice. Well I'm going to pack the drinks so I'm going to need him for the cooler. (yells) Y/N!

Y/N: I heard the conversation you two were having. Though if you two are ones to believe in luck might I suggest plucking one of Yang's hairs.

Qrow: Ya no. Unlike you I don't have a death wish. Believe me when I say this. Wait maybe but it depends. Don't even try asking me. You know what when you and I can share a drink. Not now as I can't have you getting ideas.

Tai: You just made it worse. With Yang have you seen what she can do?!

Y/N: In fact I have. I believe she punched me out the window.

Qrow: Consider yourself lucky you have all your teeth.

Y/N: At least the window slowed me down.

Some time passed by and now they arrived at the lake. Yang and Ruby immediately went to the changing room.

Tai: Yeah, I built that long ago.

Qrow: And I was there also. It's older than Ruby by the way.

Y/N: Need help on anything?

Qrow: Nah, we got this handled.

Y/N: I think I'll wait a bit before going in the water.

Y/N began setting up his lawn chair. Sitting down Qrow thew him a soda while he took a drink from his flask.

Qrow: Now I may not look like it but enjoy it while you still can Y/N. Heartburns is defacto enemy number one

Ruby: (running) Y/N! Y/N!

Y/N turned around only to be met by Ruby in her red swimsuit adorning her signature rose emblem. He began sweating as he feels Tai's  gaze on him.

Qrow: Tai, what did you expect? We did a lot more back in our time. Oh and don't even get me started on my sister.

Tai: (sighs) I guess.

Ruby: Why aren't you in the water? We went through all that and it wasn't so you can sit at the sand looking at it.

Y/N: I uh was waiting for you?

Tai: Ruby, where is your sister?

Ruby: You know how long Yang takes to get ready. She did say something about getting a tan or something.

Y/N took off his shirt. This was met by a wide eyed Ruby as she began turning into the very  mess Y/N became upon seeing her. Qrow had a good chuckle at it. Y/N and Ruby ran off to the lake in front of them.

Qrow: Seems like Y/N wasn't the only one.

Tai: Qrow.

Qrow: What? Count yourself lucky it is from your future son-in-law and not some random kid. They probably won't have a shred of his character.

Tai: Son-in-law?

Qrow: You heard me. Those two will stick it out. I know it. You can see it in Ruby's eyes.

Yang: (appears) What's happening here?

Qrow: Talking about stuff like heartburns.

Yang: So old people talk.

Qrow: At least my kidney is still good.

Tai: (takes swig from glass) I'm just going to enjoy my time with my family.

Yang: Even Y/N?

Tai: Like your Uncle Qrow said about Ruby's love for Y/N. You can see it in Ruby's eyes, so I consider him as one. He already proved it.

Yang: Guess it's mission accomplish for him then. Hey you know I once punched him out my team's window?

Tai: Yeah.

Qrow: Speaking of getting punched out of a window do I have a story.

As this was happening Y/N was having a hard time trying to get Ruby to walk deeper in the water.

Ruby: I hate this part. It is freezing and what is worse is when I walk out and go back in.

Y/N: Red, just submerge your body into the water to get it over with. Better to get it over with than it being long and drawn out.

Ruby: But I don't want to.

Y/N: See you on the other side.

Y/N submerged into the water only to emerge from it seconds later. Looking at Ruby he had an evil look in his eyes.

Ruby: Don't you dare. You wouldn't dare.

Y/N: Would I? As Silver says when he plays a stealth game. Shoot first and worry about the consequences later. That or if I were to kill all the guards there's no guards to notice all the bodies. Yeah it be like that.

After that he began splashing at Ruby with no remorse. Ruby screams as she tried to return fire at Y/N.

Y/N: Resistance is futile Ruby. Thanks to the fact that I am used to the water plus there is my semblance.

Ruby: Yeah well I can splash more water.

Y/N: (creates ice shield and splashes Ruby)

Ruby: Hey! No fair!

Y/N: All is fair in love in war.

Ruby: That's why it isn't fair.

Y/N: You know that isn't the full saying?

Ruby: Really?

Y/N: It is; A man and woman are in love, but a certain unease comes with the territory, and pulling one over on your spouse is fair game because, in the end, all is fair in love and war.

Ruby: You learn something new everyday.

The day at the lake went well as they found a few interesting things to do with Y/N and his semblance. When the next day arrived it was time to go back to Beacon. Getting ready Y/N went out the door to see both Yang and Ruby hugging Qrow and Tai. As they hugged their dad, Y/N went to Qrow.

Qrow: Listen kid, we may have not gotten to know each other much you seem alright. Who knows maybe next time we do see each other I can teach you how to hold down liquor.

Y/N: Well I'll be bringing the ice.

Qrow: (laughs) Yeah, well you better keep your word. You got that?

Tai: (goes to Y/N) It was good to finally meet you.

Y/N: Thank you for having me.

Tai: Keep Ruby safe. I know you have been doing it already it's just-

Y/N: Sir, I will make sure this is done to the best of my capabilities. I know that a parent never wants to be buried before their child.

Tai: Look you seem like a good kid and I will hold you up to that. You're already family by our measures.

Qrow: Family ain't necessarily blood but it is those who you bleed for. By the looks of it you have done a lot of that.

Y/N: Well I'm not exactly sure if I got a blood transfusion so who knows I may have another person's in me.

Qrow: With that attitude I'm sure you can be literally too stubborn to die.

Zwei came rushing out the door to then jump on Y/N, licking him.

Y/N: I know Zwei. I didn't forget you.

Zwei: Bark!
