I woke up to a dark room. I turned to check the clock on my phone, seeing it was 4.30 in the morning. The fact that I woke up during the night surprised me, as I never do that. I layed back on my bed, wanting to fall back asleep.
I expected to feel Rafe against my back, something that was usual for us by now, but he wasn't there. I looked towards the chair he'd left his clothes on, finding them still there. It clicked that he must've gone to the bathroom. I waited for some time for him to come back to bed, but it was already 5 am and he still didn't return.
I stood up, approaching the bathroom door. I could hear him sob from my place. These sounds made my eyebrows furrow in worry. I slowly raised my hand to knock on the door. He stopped, opening the door.
I met his red, puffy eyes concerningly. His hand covered his face, trying to hide the fact the he'd been crying. I sighed, pushing to door to open a bit more, so I could enter the bathroom.
"What's wrong, Rafe?" I asked him softly, stroking his jaw. He shook his head, as if trying to keep away those thoughts.
"I- I can't do it, Y/n." I raised an eyebrow, waiting for him to continue. "I'm too damaged. It's impossible to help me-" I cut him off, as his voice broke.
"It's okay. Everything's going to be okay." I shushed him, hoping my words made him feel better. I wrapped my arms around his neck, holding him close. That's when he broke down. I felt him shake as he pressed his face in the crook of my neck. One of my hands went to thread through his hair. "I can help you, Rafe. I love you too much to let you ruin your life."
He pulled away from me at my words, surely not expecting me to confess my feelings for him at this moment.
"I'm sorry." He said, avoiding my gaze. My hand caressed his cheek, but I stopped at his next words. "Loving me must be so fucking hard and I'm so sorry." I rapidly shook my head, not wanting him to say such things.
"No, you deserve the world, Rafe. You just need to find the right path to follow." He smiled, his lips finding mine.
I pulled away to yawn. "Let's go back to bed." I said before grabbing his hand and pulling him after me.
We both lied down, my back against his chest, as his arms went around my waist to keep me close to him. We fell asleep quickly after, tired from the dramatic exchange.
——
We woke up again after around seven hours of sleep, which we gladly accepted. I'd come to the conclusion that the easiest way to deal with our current problem was by sleeping a lot more. We then had lunch, seeing as it was already the right time for it. We layed around the house for a few hours afterwards, followed by a walk on the beach. Then we found our way back home, where we made dinner, time that we'd spent with my mother. After dinner we went to bed, catching up on any news and episodes that we'd missed during the day.
Author's Note: I'm sorry this was so short!! Also, I'm sorry for not posting, but I had a few issues. Hope you enjoyed this part, though!! Please comment some ideas that you think should happen next, maybe to add to the drama.
