To say I was surprised when I saw Jeongin after five years again was an understatement. He used to be very determined to become a kindergarten teacher. I wondered what happened to his dream. And his eyes... They looked dull. Nothing about him felt warm anymore. His presence gave me shivers.

"Mister Hwang, you wanted to talk to me?"

He knew exactly what he was doing as he entered my office. Leaning against my desk, a smirk present on his face. My heart though was still racing like it was only yesterday when we broke things off.

When I called it quits.

"Yes. You are going to be working in the fifth department for now alongside with Kim Seungmin. I am aware Seo Changbin was supposed to be your supervisor but regarding that you aren't experienced in this field, we have decided it's for the best to start small."

"Does that change anything money related?"

I furrowed my eyebrows, confused about his sudden interest in money. But we weren't teenagers anymore and being an adult was expensive. His question was valid but I was too hung up on the people we used to be.

"No, we would be obligated to inform you about any changes. That would be everything, you are free to go."

My ex boyfriend let out a loud huff, straightening his posture again.

"Was that really it, or is this just the beginning, Mister Hwang?"

And with that he left.
