The city buzzed with life, neon lights flickering against the darkened sky, but nothing in the world shone as brightly as Shining Glitter Cookie. That was something you had realized early on in your relationship - no matter where she went, the popstar illuminated everything around her, and tonight was no exception.
You had been planning this anniversary date for weeks, and yet, the moment Shining Glitter Cookie swept you into her arms with a dazzling smile, you knew she had plans of her own.
"Hi, honey!" She sang, twirling you ince vefore pressing a quick kiss to your forehead. She was smiling, but her hands were a little shaky.
You laughed, your heart warm at her energy. "I thought I was supposed to be surprising you?"
Shining Glitter Cookie chuckled. "Oh, you should know by now that I love surprises, but I also love making you feel as special as you make me feel!" She winked before pulling you toward her pink car waiting at the curb.
"Wait- Glitter, where are we going?" You asked, raising an eyebrow as she waved her arm toward the open car door.
"You'll see!"
You were expecting a romantic dinner, maybe a private concert, but as the car pulled up to a stunning rooftop venue overlooking the city, your breath caught in your throat. Twinkling lights draped across the balcony, casting a soft glow over a beautifully set table for two. Rose petals were scattered across the floor, and in the distance, a live jazz band played a slow, romantic melody.
"Glitter..." You murmured, turning to her in awe.
She bit her lip, eyes glimmering with excitement and nervosity. "Do you... like it?"
"Like it? I love it!" You turned fully to her, squeezing her hands. "You planned all this?"
She laughed. "Of course! You're my shining star, my muse! You deserve only the best, and tonight, I want to celebrate every beautiful moment we've had together."
Your heart swelled as she led you toward the table, pulling out a chair for you with a dramatic flourish, making you both giggle. As you settled in, the band began to play one of the love songs she wrote for you. One of the very few songs that were slow.
"You even got them to play your music?" You teased.
She grinned. "Well, I am a superstar. I might've pulled a few strings for the most important person in my life."
Dinner was filled with laughter and sweet reminiscing - your first date, the first time she nervously held your hand, the countless late-night songwriting sessions where she'd write love songs inspired by you.
Then, just as dessert was served, Shining Glitter Cookie leaned closer, her expression turning softer. "Do you remember our first anniversary?" She asked, tilting her head.
You chuckled. "Of course. You tried to bake me a cake and almost set your studio on fire."
She pouted. "Hey! In my defense, the recipe looked easy!"
"You forgot the flour, honey. And it was no wonder it didn't work when you tried to bake in your studio."
She pouted before laughing. "Okay, okay, so maybe baking isn’t my thing. But this-" She gestured at the beautiful setup. "-this is me making sure I get our anniversary right this time, you know?"
You smiled, reaching for her hand across the table. "Every anniversary has been perfect because I get to spend it with you."
Her eyes sparkled, and for the first time that evening, she looked truly speechless.
After a moment, she stood, holding out her hand.
You didn’t hesitate. Taking her hand, she led you to the center of the rooftop, where the band played her usually cheery music.
Shining Glitter Cookie wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you close, Twirls and turns, shared laughter sounding. It wasn't a typical slow-dance, but it was all the more romantic.
As the song came to an end, she dipped you dramatically before pulling you into a kiss - soft, lingering, filled with all the love she couldn’t put into words.
"Happy anniversary, my love." She whispered when she pulled away.
You smiled, pressing your forehead against hers. "Happy anniversary, Glitter."
