As it turns out he didn't end up going to his father for advice after all. Instead, Gakushū went to his best friend.

They agreed to meet at the park. Gakushū brought cans of cold sodas, and Ren brought chips to share.

"So what's the problem?" Ren chose not to beat around the bush. He knows Gakushū like the back of his hand, he knows when there was something bothering his friend. He just wished his friend would talk to him about it willingly instead of going around in circles about it.

"What....makes you think there's a problem?"

Like right now.

Ren sighed. "You ignore me for weeks, you focus most of your attention on a certain red head and green haired twins, and then suddenly call me out here at 7pm" he pointed out.

Gakushū winced. "I've been a neglectful friend to you"

"Yes, you have" Ren playfully punched his shoulder. "But! At least you came to me for advice on...whatever you're going through buddy, this proves that by the end of the day, I'm still your best friend"

He really is a prick. Aside from using an innocent girl to distract himself from his feelings for Karma, he's abandoned Ren in the sidelines.

He needs to get his shit together, and fast.

"Ren, lately I've been spending most of my time with Karma, the twins, and that ginger haired girl Hitomi" he started, to which Ren snorted at.

"Understatement. You've been spending all of your time with them, especially with Karma" Ren corrected.

Gakushū nodded. "Right, right. Well, I realized that I might like Akabane Karma, much more than I thought I did"

Hearing this, Ren covered his smirk by drinking his soda.

"But I didn't want to accept that fact so I decided to find a random girl to date for a while in hopes of getting rid of my feelings"

"PFFFT!!!!" Ren spat out his drink,before turning to Gakushū with a sharp glare of disbelief. "Seriously man?!" He had suspicions that Sakoto Sakura was just meant to be a distraction of sorts but boy did it piss him off now that Gakushū confirmed it.

"Asshole!"

Gakushū raised his two hands defensively. "I didn't know what else to do alright? I was overwhelemed-"

"Then why didn't you get advice from me or your dad? Stupid!" Ren whacked him over the head. "We would have cared enough to give you good advice, hell I would have encouraged you to fucking embrace what you feel and throw the most dramatic romantic gesture for Karma!" He hit Gakushū upside the head again.

"You're a genius when it comes to academics! But a complete dumbass when it comes to the heart!" Ren cannot believe this! Gakushū was using Sakoto to get rid of his feelings for Karma! The poor girl deserves better! Way better!

"Alright! Alright Ren I know that!" Gakushū stopped Ren's assaults by grabbing his hands.

The brunet sighed, and composed himself. "So, what's the problem here? Just break up with Sakoto and then date Karma instead" he's a hundred percent sure Karma will accept Gakushū anyway.

Gakushū frowned. "If I do that, Karma will think he's a rebound"

"No he won't" Ren insisted

"And I will appear as an asshole to Sakoto!"

"Hitomi will comfort her then" Ren dismissed. "I don't understand what's preventing you from dating the boy you like!" this is really stupid why is he helping this guy who never appreciated him anyway? Oh right, because he's nice

"Here's my advice. Go to Sakoto and tell her the truth, that you don't like her like that and that you want to break up. Also say you're sorry and YOU BETTER MEAN IT!!! If things get ugly call Hitomi for her to comfort the poor girl! those two have been awfully close lately"

Ren's pretty sure Hitomi is into Sakoto

"Go to the twins and tell them off for being crappy pieces of shits and that you do not appreciate them locking you and Karma up in tight spaces! Among other things....."

Seriously those twins need therapy and a whole lot of it!

"And then finally, go to Karma and tell him you like him...and that you're interested in going out with him"

He's sure Gakushū and Karma has had this strong chemistry between them since junior high. All they needed was a particularly strong push

He and Gakushū talked some more after that. And Gakushū agreed that Ren was right, and that tomorrow or maybe the day after:

He'll have broken things off and apologized sincerely to Sakoto

Dealt with the twins and their damned meddlesome hobbies(probably send them to therapy to fix their issues)

And will be holding hands with Karma and showing off his new relationship with the amazing red head.

Oh yeah, and take Ren out for a hang out at the arcade as a thank you
