3rd person's POV

Izuku seemed to be completely sober the next day, and thankfully he had very vague idea of what happened the before day.

Katsuki especially made sure Izuku didn't remember what they were talking about.

Now all he had to do was propose Izuku! He tries a lot, so many times but it still ends up getting postponed due to some reason or the other.

The first time is when Izuku's at work when Katsuki get's to his home. He calls Izuku's house only to get it answered by Inko, confirming that he was indeed at work, overworking himself.

So Katsuki decided the simplest date he could come up with. Katsudon date! It was Izuku's favorite dish and the best part was, Katsuki learnt the recipe from Inko!

Izuku would love the dinner date, nothing too tiring or extravagant, just enjoying each other's company.

Katsuki informs Izuku to drop by, and when he does, Izuku's so tired Katsuki's worried. Izuku had evident eye bags!

Katsuki hadn't met Izuku in hardly 2 days and he's already looking like a corpse.

Katsuki drops everything, forces Izuku to sit down, switch off his phone and actually relax.

He spoon feeds Izuku the dinner, forcing a little more than usual just to make sure he's content. He ends up forcing Izuku to bed, asking him to sleep.

Just as Katsuki slips into the covers himself, he feels a heavy weight in his pockets.

Ah fuck he forgot it in a hurry! And Izuku's already asleep.

The second time was when both Izuku and Katsuki went to the bar with Kirishima for a few drinks.

Katsuki was now so sure he's going to poo the question, there couldn't have been a better time!

Though the bar was crowded, it wasn't noisy. Apparently the club's DJ was on a vacation, so no dance party. Katsuki actually enjoyed this unusual vibe.

Izuku looked so classy in his outfit Katsuki wanted to ask him even before they could leave their house. But even after reaching there, Katsuki spends more time admiring Izuku.

Katsuki had a lot of time in his hands, Izuku promised to not get drunk because it was a work night, he hardly had wine.

Katsuki decided to be the responsible person for the night to drive then all back home. His only wish was, by the time they reach home, Izuku would be his fiancee.

That didn't happen. Kirishima turned to be too drink to even walk straight, bumping into random people as he clumsily apologises with a smile.

Izuku had to pull him away and out of the club, denying him more drinks while Katsuki's pulls out the car.

By the time they leave him at home and make sure he's asleep, it turns 2 in the morning. Izuku wasn't even awake when they reached home.

Just like the first time, this was also a flop.

The next time was at dinner with their families. Everyone was there and Katsuki thought it was the perfect chance!

He could propose Izuku over dinner in some cheesy way and their parents would also be there to bless them!

The plan was perfect, just like the first time Inko made Katsudon with Katsuki, just the way Izuku likes it.

Mitsuki actually got on with the plan, sending sneaky glances and winks as Katsuki sits down next to Izuku, making him flustered.

"So... How are you guys?" Inko asks them both as Izuku happily explains the date Katsuki took him to a few weeks back and how he always cooks him food.

Inko and Masaru are pretty immersed into the conversation, sometimes giving remarks about it while Mitsuki and Katsuki were having a staring competition.

Soon Inko herself comes to the question, it somehow just came up after discussing about the relationship.

"So, marriage, huh?" She laughs, only realising after a few seconds when Izuku goes silent, his face turning red.

"Mum- I mean, when we're ready, sure." He replies nervously.

Just then Mitsuki steps in, "So, you guys are not yet ready? I think Katsuki loves you so much already, what more do you need?"

Katsuki grumbles about something, harshly poking his chicken with his fork, rattling the plate.

"Of course aunty, and I love him just as much, if not more. But there's a time for it, you know? Like when you don't even think about it and it just happens?

A proposal shouldn't be forced, like when the time feels right, it just happens. With or without a ring." Izuku says dreamily, making everyone sigh sigh him.

That's when Katsuki realises. He's just been forcing himself through this confession, wasn't he?

Creating situations just so he could ask him. But Izuku believes that it just happens, in the heat of the moment. It's more special that way.

Now that Katsuki thinks, it's right. Like, at one moment where he knows Izuku is the one in his life (as if he already isn't) or that one moment when he just feels so elated to have Izuku in his life, asking him out then would be more special (and less cringey to Izuku, apparently)

When asked why it was cringey, Izuku had no answer.

"It's just so much like a love drama or, you know? A movie scene. But real life isn't like that. Like- I don't know how to explain it but if you can propose your partner in the heat of the moment, it's like- you always knew they were the one for you and that moment made you realise it, you know?"

"I'm also sure you both know you want each other in your life forever." Masaru comments, chuckling when Izuku hides his face as Katsuki ignores the question, looking like a tomato.

"It's that moment uncle! It's just so special and it happens on it's own, without forcing it through you!"

Katsuki zones out the rest of the conversation. He starts thinking about Izuku's logic. It's probably just because of reading too much love stories, but Katsuki understands his opinion.

He just couldn't wait for that moment to come. And just like that, Katsuki goes around with Izuku for weeks with the ring still in his pocket.
