Upon entering the village, the thick fog had dissipated enough for it to be completely and clearly visible. If anything, it was a little too visible. And by throwing a look back, I could see why.
The thick fog abruptly ended right at the village gate - almost like some sort of barrier was keeping the fog out of the village, but was allowing them to enter.
It honestly was a wild sight.
[Wio] "My Lord, I don't see any humans around. However..."
"Yeah, I can sense it too."
I replied, looking off into the village. There seemed to be no humans in the village whatsoever, however, with my 'Overworld Detection' I was able to sense the presence of many, many powerful individuals inside this village.
"They're hiding."
I hopped off the carriage.
"Get ready for a potential fight."
Wezrall nodded, hopping off the carriage as well, before shifting into his Wendigo form. Before continuing to move further into the village, I quickly made the carriage disappear into the shadows, using my 'Shadow Manipulation' to sort of store it away while we didn't need it.
Afterwards, I turned back around before beginning to march on further into the village, Wezrall following me from right behind.
Moving further into the village, shivers were sent down my spine - I felt like I was being... Watched, from every possible angle.
Almost like there was something hiding all over the place. Or... Should I say - some things.
[Wezrall] "My Lord, please stay alert. I can feel something getting closer."
You can?
But why can't I feel it- 'Overworld Detection' should be able to pick up on even the slightest of hidden movement...
It could be because [Overworld Detection] has a limit to its maximum power output, while Wezrall is using his enhanced monster senses to detect Magical Energy traces.
'Okay... Can I replicate that??'
With the current resources? - No.
[Overworld Detection] would HAVE to evolve for you to be able to mimic Wezralls detection abilities to the same extent.
Well shit, looks like I should stick to Wezrall as much as possible, IF I wanted to make sure I wasn't able to be ambushed.
We continued walking further and further into the village for a bit, before stopping somewhat in the middle of it.
The reason for us stopping?
[Wezrall] "We're surrounded, my Lord."
"Yeah, I sense them too.."
I replied, before exhaling lightly.
It's better to just break the news to whoever was surrounding us.
"Whoever is there, we know you have us surrounded. So go ahead and show yourselves already."
I announced loudly, crossing my arms in the process. For a couple of moments, it was silent. No movement, no reaction - nothing. The silence was a bit suffocating if you ask me.
Eventually, after a couple of moments, the individuals we had been sensing the whole time appeared in our vision, turning visible with this strange fire ring that uncovered their bodies.
Each of them was dressed in a thick robe or cloak, which was primarily coloured orange, red and gold. The cloaks - or robes - didn't look like the ones the Hand Sons would wear, so it couldn't be them.
After another moment, one of the individuals removed their hood, revealing a Lizardman looking face.
[Strange Creature] "You saw through our disguise technique. That is impressive."
Wezrall immediately became cautious, slightly activating his 'Blizzard Magic' skill. I did gesture to him to remain calm for now, however I myself was already preparing to draw a Venom Weapon incase of anything.
"Who are you all and why were you stalking us?"
[Strange Individual 1] "Stalking you?"
[Strange Individual 2] "You're the ones-"
[Strange Individual 3] "Who entered our home-"
[Strange Individual 4] "Without permission."
Did they just finish each others sentences...?
That's... Totally not creepy... Yeah. Wezrall became even more alarmed upon hearing their way of speaking, almost like he knew something.
"Sure, we entered without permission - But it isn't our fault that we accidentally ended up here."
I replied.
I guess my argument was a little too truthful and stingy, because immediately after I replied with that argument, the hooded individuals scuffed and growled at me - like a pack of disgusted or angry animals.
[Strange Creature] "You dare come into our territory and insult us?!"
"Insult you-? How the fuck did I-"
Master, these are not separate individuals.
I detect a strong Magical Energy presence from only one of them - the others are empty.
Empty?
How in the world...
Before I could question the Ancient Ones statement, the strange creature that had revealed itself first, fired off a lightning bolt towards me and Wezrall. Luckily, I managed to react just fast enough to completely negate the lightning bolt using my 'Devourer' skill.
The individuals seemed a bit surprised by this move, as all of them backed off slightly.
"Lightning...."
[Wezrall] "This is not humans or any humanoid creature..."
I looked at Wezrall a bit confused.
The strange creature that had attacked me then suddenly began to tremble, before turning into strange grey mist. Afterwards, all the other individuals also turned into grey mist, their cloaks dropping to the ground.
The grey mists they had transformed into then gathered into one orb, before slowly shaping into a giant creatures form.
In a couple of moments, the full physique of the true creature we were in the presence of, revealed itself.
It looked to be a dinosaur type build - more specifically, brontosaur body, with 6 Tails and 6 Heads.

A Hydra huh..? And level 340 as well...
Though strangely it's stats are not as high as I'd expect them to be - I mean, only 200k HP? Even I have more than that and I'm only level 112.
Hydras stats tend to not scale with their level, but instead their life span aka how long they've lived.
'So let me guess - Level on this thing is just decoration?'
Basically.
Then it shouldn't be too difficult to take this thing down. I smirked to myself, creating my Venom Scythe before infusing it with Ifrits flame once more.
"Wezrall, keep it busy. I'll kill it swiftly."
[Wezrall] "Understood, my Lord!"
Wezrall then proceeded shoot out two of his blizzard beams at the hydra, instantly getting its attention as well as dealing heavy damage to it.
Meanwhile I immediately dashed towards the Village houses, before leaping onto them and beginning to leap from one roof of a house to the next one - making my way around the Hydra while Wezrall kept it locked onto himself.
My plan was simple - incase this thing had some kind of natural regeneration, I would need to kill it in an instant.
The way to do it?
Its weak spot should be right on its back - a small gemstone like thing that is growing right out of its neck.
Strike that - of more specifically, destroy that and it'll die instantly Master.
'Y'know, sometimes having Ancient One feels like cheating.'
I thought, continuing my dash towards the hydras back.
Meanwhile Wezrall continued to throw an attack after an attack at the Hydra, keeping its attention onto himself as well as causing it to wince in pain every moment here and there.
However, despite the wincing and seeming pain it was feeling - the Hydra looked quite fine in itself - almost like it wasn't actually taking any damage.
Guess that would be the regeneration at work.
I eventually reached close enough to the hydras tail, to successfully leap onto its body - using its own tail as a boost for me to leap from.
Upon landing onto its back, the Hydra began to move rapidly and very chaotically. I was confused at first, thinking that perhaps it had felt me land on its back, however upon looking down to the ground, I saw Wezrall running all over the Village, while continuing to throw and attack after an attack at the beast.
'So it's just pursuing him... Works for me.'
I thought, using 'Abyss Magic' to quickly gain back my balance on top of this things back.
Afterwards, I began to quickly make my way up the creatures back eventually seeing the aforementioned 'crystal thing' growing out of the back of its neck.
"Bingo—"
Before I could strike it, the Hydra turned in a rapid manner, causing me to almost fall off of its back - managing to just barely hold on by stabbing my Scythes bottom spike into the Hydras back.
Wezrall seemingly saw me almost fall of the hydra, as he stopped and used his authority skill - creating a massive blizzard around himself.
The Hydra seemingly was affected by the blizzard, as its movement slowed down and it became a bit more sloppy.
[Wezrall] "Lord Faofa, strike it now!"
Wezrall shouted towards me, as the Hydras six heads began to charge up different elemental beams.
Quickly moving, I ran up to the crystal growing out of its neck, before striking it with my scythe. At first, nothing happened, however then Ifrits flame kicked it and the crystal - alongside with the hydras neck - was set a blaze.
The Hydra stopped its attack charge, before stumbling around, it's six heads also catching on fire. I leapt off of the creature, before making my scythe disappear.
Afterwards, I extended my arms out - firing off 'Crimson Lightning' from on and 'Black Flame' from the other one.
Upon the two skill attacks hitting the hydra, it was engulfed in a black flame, that was followed by crimson lightning shocking away at its body.
Can confirm,
The Hydras life signals have vanished. It is dead.
'Phew... Thank god.'
I wiped the sweat off my forehead, before landing onto the ground with a light thud.
Experience threshold has been reached.
You have risen to level 118.
Nice, 6 levels from this one beast.
Wezrall deactivated his authority skill, before walking up to me.
[Wezrall] "Outstanding my Lord - You showed that oversized lizard who has real power!"
"Hahah... You flatter me Wezrall."
I replied, before walking up to the Hydra, using 'Devourer' to take my bonus Exp and Magical Energy from it.
Experience threshold has been reached.
You have risen to level 125.
Sweet! 7 more levels JUST from it's Magical Energy? Now that's an absolute bargain!
"Alright, let's keep going now—"

'..Oh fuck off—'
The evolution dizziness kicked in, as I shifted into my snake form and fell to the ground.
[Wezrall] "My Lord? My Lord?!"
Wezrall called out to me, dropping to his knees, trying to make sure that I was okay.
For a couple of moments, it was a vague and almost foggy view of him, before eventually I fell unconscious.

Greetings, Odale is back here.
I have to say, I didn't expect Bringer of Hope to find the Village of Embers that fast...
That Village is a dangerous place and almost impossible to enter by normal means.
Not to mention the guardian of the Scorching Path which leads to the Primordial Volcano..
But, I'm sure he'll be fine!
