I tailed the source of the screech for a long while, remaining in the shadows the whole time as I did. One thing I had to give this thing, was that it was freaking fast - Like, holy moly.
Even with my unreal stamina and technically speaking, high acceleration speed of running, I wasn't able to catch up.

However, I was able to trail it down by using my 'Overworld Detection' skill which allowed me to sense the things magical energy heading up higher in the mountains.
Gotta say, it was also surprisingly good and concealing its Magical Energy, as it felt faint and weak. Whatever the screech belonged to, was most definitely a monster or person, with high intelligence.

Perhaps high enough, for me to be able to converse with it.

I continued to trail down the creature, or at least, what I assumed to be a creature at this time, eventually ending up at the possibly highest point where there was a path leading to it.
And before me, stood just a lone - rather large, cave entrance.

Leaping out of the shadows, I gazed up at the entrance before looking inside it. A pitch black darkness engulfed the interior of the cave and seeing as the things Magical Energy vanished the moment it hit this place, it's safe to assume that it most likely entered the cave.

'Must be its lair..'

Indeed...
Whatever we're dealing with here, is most definitely a creature of sorts. Now, all that's left is to figure out what kind of creature.

Hey, you said something useful for once.
I sighed, before flicking on a small flame onto my finger on my left hand, before entering the cave entrance, my guard fully up and prepared for any potential suprises that this cave may offer.

...

Inside was even darker than I had first imagined. It was so dark in fact, that I was forced to turn the small flame on my finger, into a decently sized floating orb, full of fire that expanded light from it.
But to be honest, this was most likely better anyway, since now I didn't have to sacrifice light if I was to get into a fight.

As I continued to head deeper into the cave, a slight chill was sent down my spine. I couldn't tell whether it was the anxiety of what could potentially be down here or simply the temperature dropping.

Temperature drops have been confirmed Master. If anything, the deeper inside we head, the faster and lower it drops to.

'I thought so... Are my skills helping me to resist the cold?'

A bit, however they may not last if we head even deeper.

Shit...
So I'm risking hypothermia.

But fear not - I am here to help.

'The fuck are you—'

Using the Skill [Fractured]..

Successful.
Epic Skill [Cold Immunity] acquired.

Ooookay-
What the fuck did you do Ancient One?

Simple.
I took the liberty of combining your [Cold Resistance] skill together with [Cold Temperature Resistance] to create a skill that can benefit you more.

[Cold Immunity] will... Well, grant you complete immunity to the cold temperature as well as any ice based attack.

Okay then.... I suppose that is useful.
Guess I can't complain when I get so many benefits from it - you win this time Ancient One.

You flatter me, Mater.

Yeah, yeah - bathe in the praise while you can. That is the only compliment you're getting from me for a while.

I continued heading deeper into the cave, now not feeling the temperature drop as much.
Well.... I actually didn't feel it drop at all. I couldn't explain it, but visually it was obvious that the temperature was dropping, however I didn't feel any of it. I felt completely warm and fine.

Eventually, I reached what looked like a pretty open room within the cave, which suddenly lit up with multiple torches on the walls the moment I took my first steps into it.
A classic... Of course.

I made the small orb of fire disappear, before looking around inside the room. Didn't seem like a room with a boss or even a mini-boss... Could this be some henchmen?

And like clockwork, the moment I mentioned 'henchmen', a bunch of raptors covered in ice appeared. Well, I called them raptors, however that it mainly because they looked like raptors. In actuality, they probably weren't.

These are monsters known as Ice Ground-Dragon Hatchlings. They are the... Well, hatchling form of the fearsome Ice Ground-Dragons that can be encountered up in mountains like these sometimes.

However, don't be afraid as these hatchings aren't on the same level as their adult variants.

'Well, yeah, that would be strange if they were.'

I exhaled, before forming a Venom Halberd into my right hand. Looks like this is not just any normal cave, but in fact, a fucking dungeon....
Yayy...

I simply spun the halberd before dashing at the monsters with unparalleled speed, slicing through all of them within moments that flashed by.

Experience threshold has been reached.

You have risen to level 95.

Woah, what the hell?
3 levels from just hatchlings?

Hatchlings or not, they still possess immense magical energy within them and are on the same power level as a B+ Ranked dungeon boss.

I see...
Guess I have become so strong that I can't even notice that a monster is strong anymore. Or perhaps I can, I just don't notice it because of me being used to fighting these type of monsters.

I spun the halberd, before making it disappear, turning my back onto the small fry oversized chickens before continuing onto the next room.

I swiftly made it through the next batch of rooms, rushing through around 12 or something of them in quick succession, before taking a break in a seemingly empty room that had a campfire in it. Ancient One informed me that this room was known as a 'Recovery Room' which is present in every high level dungeon.

These serve the purpose of allowing anyone that enters to conquer the dungeon to take a breather and rest up before continuing further into the dungeon.
And it also happens to be the safest room in the entire dungeon, as there is a powerful seal around it, which prevents all dungeon monsters from entering it.

Almost like a divine barrier that only allows those that aren't feral beasts.

In that quick clearance my level also rose to 99, just 1 short of the big triple digit number which I was looking forward to hitting, since Ancient One told me that something 'interesting' would happen when I reached level 100.

Now, I realise that I should probably be a bit scared of what that 'Interesting' thing was, that was going to happen, however, I just couldn't help but be excited about it.
Maybe it was because of the brain thing that triggers whenever something satisfying happens or something... Or maybe it was just because my OCD won't be triggered anymore due to the level being just one short of a round number.

Who knows.

Anyways- After a quick rest, I was back on track and continuing through the dungeon.
Once again, I simply blasted through what had to be another 16 rooms or so, filled with tiny fry which bared no challenge to me.

This dungeon really was deep - I mean, 28 rooms of small fry was quite.... Annoying? Insane? Whichever one fit the description the best.

I then entered a room, which was way more open and spacious than the last 28 rooms. If my previous dungeon runs were anything to go off of, this was a mini-boss room.

'Let me guess, I step inside and the door shuts.'

So, I stepped inside aaand would you believe it, the exit behind me shut close with a giant stone and ice wall. Typical.... Is there any originality in these dungeons?
I turned around looking around the room for my enemy, who appeared after a couple of moments. It looked like a giant tree or something monster, with what looked like frozen bits to it. It slowly descended from the ceiling, dropping to the ground and roaring towards me.

Sending an Appraisal report.

Two things -
One, this thing is surprisingly weak and appears to be a spirit, meaning that it will be easy pickings for Ifrit.
And Two, WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT MAGICAL ENERGY-

Treavants are a type of Spiritual Creature with an enormous amount of Magical Energy which they, most of the time, cannot control and eventually are erased by.

I see... Well, I guess that Overall Power isn't that intimidating then, since it is mostly carried by that immense Magical Energy this thing cannot control.
Oh well, doesn't matter now.
I created Venomous Scythe before grabbing it and spinning it around, taking a battle ready position.

The Treavant roared at me loudly again, before sending multiple icicles flying towards me, followed by what I could assume to be its 'Ice Pourdown' skill which created a massive hail of ice blocks.

I quickly began to move towards the spiritual creature, dodging the incoming attacks by using my swift movement, switching to my snake form and back as well as using carefully timed 'Shadow Manipulation' skill all to keep myself from taking even a little bit of damage.

The creature continued to send in its Ice based attacks at a relentless rate - a rate so fast, that it was expending Magical Energy like crazy.

'But then again, I guess with the amount it has, the thing has got no reason to worry about Magical Energy usage.'

I noted to myself.
I eventually managed to completely break through all of its attacks, before infusing my Venom Scythe with Ifrits Spiritual Flame and striking the monster with a downward slash, splitting it in half as incinerating both halves within a split second.

Ifrits Spiritual Flame was a fire that had the effects of a strong fire on most individuals, however was completely devastating to spirits, as it was capable of incinerating a spirits spritual body, preventing it from regenerating.

Experience threshold has been reached.
You have risen to level 100.

'Guess that was enough huh..?'

I thought, exhaling.
I quickly made the Venomous Scythe disappear before attempting to continue on deeper into the dungeon, only for my body to suddenly freeze and this strange tingly feeling to appear in my entire body.

Attention;
Requirements for Evolution to
- Lesser Darkness Serpentine -
Have been met.

Commencing evolution immediately..

Oh you gotta be fucking joking—
Ancient One, you're a bitch. The evolution dizziness kicked in harder than any other time, causing me to transform back into my regular snake form and fall to the ground unconscious.

Haha!
Arabor here! Greetings!

I've got to say, Faofa has grown a lot stronger. I mean, he was calling all those dungeon ants 'Small Fry'! Tell me that doesn't sound like a confident or perhaps egotistical man.

Anyways, it seems like he has finally hit
Level 100.
I wonder what he'll choose...
Well, we'll see.
