For people who look like me

Equality is a far fetched dream

something in the distance

It's something that we have never seen

And may never see

Something we fight for everyday

For people who look like me equality is something for which we must pray

For people who look like me you can't just step outside

You have to pray to god that you will make it back home

You have to pray to god that this won't be your last time being in your home

You have to pray this won't be the last time you see you mother , your kids or your siblings

For people who like me its not that easy just to step on your porch

Putting a foot out the door brings fear in your heart

You have to just hope and pray you wont end up like Stephen Clark

For people like me the simple things in life aren't simple
   you see

They weren't simple from the start

If you look like me and you have kids you might find trouble sending them to the park

12 year old tamir rice got murdered at the park by a cop

People like me have to pray that the end is not near

people like me have no choice but to live in worry and in fear

because

You can't go for a jog, You can't go to the store, you can't sit in your house, you can't ask for help, you can't talk , you can't look , you cant breath
