AN: Credits to whoever came up with the dialogue prompt above because I am going to use it because it strikes me as a conversation that Millard would have with his girlfriend. Hey, I'm just fulfilling requests and this was one! Enjoy!
Small warning, Enoch is a real douche in this chapter and he's really mean to Millard, so yeah. There's bullying I guess.
_______________________________
It was another day of Enoch being himself. He was such an annoying prick. He always antagonized you. And when he got in trouble for it, he'd do it mentally so no one could yell at him, but you could still hear him. He thinks it's the funniest thing in the world that you and Millard were dating. But his comments are rarely ever about just you. It was almost always something rude towards Millard.
Now, Millard has grown use to his nasty comments and remarks. But, after a long night of you reassuring him that Enoch was just jealous Horace didn't like him back, he really just let the comments slide in one ear and out the other.
-Flashity Backity-
"Enoch is just trying to make himself feel better by attacking you because he knows Horace is not looking for a relationship with him." You told Millard as he sat next to you, stressing the fact that if you didn't like him, you should just be honest.
"Are you sure you're not saying this to make me feel better?"
"100% sure Millard, you're amazing." You said back giving him a tight hug.
"So are you Y/n." He said, pulling out of the hug and pressing his lips on yours.
-End of the Flash Back-
He seemed to brush off all of Enoch's comments after that. You didn't though. You've come so close to punching him right in the face, that you've had to physically restrain yourself by walking a few rooms away. Enoch constantly got yelled at for his remarks, but even after, he somehow knew exactly how to break into you're mind and send in a few words of hate. You knew how to control you're peculiarity perfectly, but when you got mad at Enoch, he was able to somehow break you enough to send a few nasty thoughts you're way.
One day, he pushed you over the edge though, and no one was going to hold you back.
"Ohhh the invisible boy has a girlfriend, but only because she feels bad for him." He said, walking into the library, where Millard was. You just so happened to be walking past as he said this. And you couldn't stand it. His comments were rude, but that was just downright cruel.
So you waited outside the library for him to walk out and when he did, WHAM! you got him, square in the nose. He cried out in pain and fell to the floor. He wasn't going to hit you back though, he knew well enough to not hit a girl. Millard must've heard what happened because he came walking out seconds later. He looked to Enoch, still on the floor, then to you.
"Y/n, what happened?" He asked.
"Nothing."
"Why is Enoch on the floor, bleeding?"
"Because, he's just a cruel idiot." You responded, shrugging.
"I didn't know idiocy caused people to spontaneously start bleeding from the nose."
"Hm, must be a new phenomenon." You replied, walking away.
Millard followed you upstairs, then into you're room.
"You're just going to leave him there?" He asked.
"Well, that's the plan. He shouldn't bother you again, though. I might've broken his nose. And if he says something like that again, I know where the shovel is, and he'll never bother anyone again." You said.
"Y/n, what's gotten into you? You're never this...."
"Mean?" You finished, "well, I also never heard someone say something so cruel."
"Y/n, it was fine I just ignored him." He said.
"Well, you shouldn't have. You need to stand up for yourself Millard."
"No, not with him. He's always been like that. But only to me, and only because I knew he liked Horace." Millard said, sitting on your bed.
"Well, that's when you use that against him. He'd never bother you." You said.
"And how was I supposed to use THAT against him?"
"Threaten to tell Horace if he didn't learn to shut the fuck up." You said sitting next to him. He shifted away from you a bit.
"You know, you're pretty scary when you're mad. I think you need to just take a few minutes and go back to the nice old you." He said.
"Well, I wasn't planning on it, but since you run away from me when I'm mad, I guess I better calm down."
"Run away from you?" He asked.
"You moved over when I sat down. You know, I was GOING to give you a hug, but I guess not." You said jokingly.
"Well I don't want a hug." He said, scooting closer again.
"Oh, well ok, fine I guess-" but you were interrupted by invisible lips pressing to yours. The kiss deepened as you melted into it and when you pulled away, you shook you're head.
"Jesus Nullings, at least give me a heads up before you do all that. I was in the middle of talking." You said.
"Sorry." He said, pulling you closer. You pulled him down on the bed and laid there quietly with him.
"Are you going to give me a heads up or keep me waiting?" You asked after a few minutes.
"Heads up." He said as he pressed his lips to yours again. You broke apart a few seconds later.
"Hmf, I like when you keep me waiting."
"But you told me to give you a warning. What do you want?" He asked in a jokingly confused voice.
"I want a warning if I'm talking, that's all."
"Ok." He said laughing. After another moment of silence, you broke it.
"Do you think I'm going to get in trouble?" You asked.
"I don't see why. I mean, the Bird knows he's been bothering you, she might let this one slide." You nodded and rolled onto you're back. But Millard grabbed you by the hips and pulled you back to face him.
"You know, the mean me is scary, but the romantic, cuddly you is the most charming thing in the world." You said.
"You really think so?" You nodded.
"Definitely"
"Thank you." Millard said.
"For what?"
"Standing up for me, you're right, I'd never do it myself."
"I'll teach you how." You said with a smile.
"I'm not sure if I want to learn from you, you get scary."
"I promise I won't." You said, "not to you."
"Hm, maybe I'll let you then." He said, a smile hiding in his voice.
"Millard Nullings, what are you up to?"
"What do you mean?"
"I can hear the mischief in you're voice. And I know you're smiling." You said. He stayed quiet. You did too. Suddenly his lips pressed onto yours again. And a minute later, you pulled away.
"You know, you should do that more often."
