Chapter 19 - Responding

"So what's first on our list?" I asked Jake as i came down stairs from my morning shower, My hair was still wet in a messy bun, i had one of Colten's sweaters on and black leggings, To finish the look i wore my brown leather combat boots.

"First, We are gonna go to Cotlen's office were Alpha Smith is waiting." He spoke not looking up from his notes.

"why-"

"No questions, Just trust me?" He spoke softly as he looked up into my eyes, Bending down a bit so he could actually look me straight in the eyes.

"Okay." I whispered hopelessly as i stared at the ground avoiding his stares.

"Okay." And with that he took my hand and led me down the hall, one hand in mine, well the other on his notebook.

Once we stepped into the office Alpha Smith, Or as he want's me to call him Blake, Was sitting on one of the leather couches looking at a map that was on the Small table in front of him, Around him were a few gaurds and what I'm guessing is his beta. After a few seconds after i stepped in Adam opened the door and came in, At first I questioned why but then remembered he's Colten's beta.

"I will here to help Ellie through this since Colten is unavailable." Jake announced as the rest nodded there heads in agreement.

Just the mention of Colten's name brang tears into my eyes threatening to come out.

"Alright so we have marked off where i found Ellie and where she came running f-"

"Excuse me?" i asked politely having no idea what there taking about.

"Alpha Ellie, My name is Dylan I'm the beta of moon rising pack and Alpha Smith is my Alpha." A tall blonde said after i rudely interrupted him from talking before, Dylan was what looked like a Strong and muscular beta, his hair was cut into a buzz cut at the top of his head that gave perfect view of his stormy grey eyes. "We were just disusing on how that witch atacked you, And we are trying to pin point where she could be now." He continued.

"Oh."

"Ellie, do you want to tell me what she looked like?" Blake spoke up.

"Which one?"

"There's more than one?!" Dylan questioned surprised.

"She switched forms." I quickly answered.

"Tell us the first." Blake said.

I sat down on the nearest chair and pulled my hair behind my ears as i twiddled with my fingers as i spoke. "She was short and fat, She wore loads of makeup, Her hair was curled into tight curls short curls, and she wore a blue baggy dress."

"The second one?" Blake asked.

"The second one, Was tall skinny to the bone, her hair was slick black as her skin was a pale white, you could see her bone's and her eyes." i blinked a few times pushing the tears back as i swallowed the lump in my throat. "Her eye's were white."

"Just white?" Dylan asked well i nodded as an aweser.

After i explained where i first saw her, They also discovered who and that Marty's not dead. Dylan and a few hunters left about 3 hours ago to search the area for both the witch and Marty. Dylan seemed quite hard on the descriptin's and i honestly don't think he belivies me but, Blake on the other hand was totally understanding, same with Jake.

"Blake, a word?" Dylan said peeking his head into the office were Blake, Jake and i have been talking well all this time Dylan has been out with Adam and some guards searching.

"Course." Blake said putting his coffee down and walking out of the office.

Jake was silently reading over the map, And i was about to too, But then my wolf spoke up.

'What are they talking about?' She said curiously.

' I don't kn-"

'Listen!'

"Alpha, Why should we trust her, She could just be an attention whore? Or better yet crazy! I've been searching over 3 hours for a single trance of any of them and haven't found a thing." Dylan said to Blake.

"Even if she's not your Alpha you will never speak of her with such lack of respect, again!" Blake said in alpha tone to Dylan.

"Yes Alpha, But just here me out. There's nothing out there and nobody has even see any of those well patrolling."

"I understand what your trying to say, But do you think she would lie to us about something so important?" Blake asked.

"yes."

I didn't even know how i could hear there conversation through the wall, sure I'm a werewolf, But i know for a fact that these are sound proof walls and not a single wolf can hear through them...

"Ellie?"  Jake asked snapping me out of my thoughts. "Are you even listening?" He chuckled.

"Sorry what?"

"We are now going to the second part of the list." Jake said waving the list in front of my eyes and then lead me out of the office and down the hall into the large dinning room.

"What's going on?" I asked him.

"Pack meeting."

Once we stepped foot into the pack meeting i was engulfed into loud laughter, and talking, and various different scents of different wolfs, they were all happily talking and not even realizing the presence of an alpha.

"Okay Ellie, You need to show them you can't be pushed around if I talk that just shows how much weaker you are, You need to use full alpha tone and scare them out of there pants, Tell them how they need to put more respec-"

"Okay i get it." I hushed Jake.

"Okay. Go." Jake said as he gave me a light push towards the front.

Here goes nothing...

"Attention." I said in a loud voice but nobody paid attention.

"Excuse me?" Still no one, Then Adam tried pushing me back to help me out.

"I CAN DO THIS MYSELF!" I yelled at Adam, not realizing how much power i just put into that yell as he cautiously stepped down, When i turned around all eyes were on me, Flabbergasted.

"Okay.. Hello umm.. I'm here to address some-"

"She's just making a fool out of herself." someone said, i don't think anyone else hear but a few beside her But some how i heard her loud and clear.

"THAT'S IT" Breathing in i contained. "All of you have been showing no respect towards me!, your ALPHA. Just because I'm small dosen't mean i can be pushed around and talked about behind your back. I may be diffrent but it just makes me stronger and more powerful, I didn't ask to be like this and as your Alpha you should show your respect towards your alpha." Everyone's faces were astonished. "And don't think your action's will go unpunished. " And with that i walked out of the room as i dragged Jake behind.

"What's third on the list?" I asked him wanting to get over this as soon as possible. I just made a huge fool of myself.

"Uhh.." Jake just stood there for a second. "Oh right, Just follow me." And with that Jake grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the front door and to his car.

We pulled up to the hospital five minutes later, memory's of before came washing back, I began becoming anxious. I was about to ask Jake what were doing here but then he beat me to it.

"You need to see Colten." And with that he opened his car door, and came around were i was and helped me out, I couldn't even speak, I was frozen If Jake wasn't holding my arm I'm sure i would be frozen on the spot. Jake walked up towards the counter and asked for the room to Cotlen's, The nurse was hesitant at first but then she turned and saw me and immediately gave Jake the key.

We slowly approached the door, I was terrified i would see the same Cotlen from my dream's the same one that died right in front of me in my dreams...

Jake put the key in and slowly turned the door nob, and gave me a light push in and let go of me again.

HE LEFT ME HERE ALONE?

'Your not alone, Colten.' My wolf pointed out.

Slowly i crept up towards coltens bed, every step i took my heart went faster, his heart monitor was at a steady beat , But it didn't help very much that it was even here. I grabbed a chair form the right side on the wall and pulled it towards his bed as it made a 'screeaacchiinggg' sound.

I plumped into the chair and looked at colten, He looked pale but not too pale, his hair was recently washed as well as the rest of him, He looked some what healthy..

some what.

"If you can hear me.." my voice started to crack. "I want you to know that things are getting better.." i grabbed onto his hand as his fingers made no move. "At least i think...Who am i kidding?" And with that i stood up pushed the chair back and when i was about to untangle my fingers and pull away,He grabbed onto my hand. "Colten." I said sitting back down.

"Everything okay in here?" Jake asked popping his head in.

"He's responding."
