Bonnie Bennett sat at the living room table of the Salvatore boarding house with her eyes closed. Elena, Stefan, and Damon surrounded the witch as she used her powers to track down Selene, which was a lot harder than they all thought it would be. Selene was a stone-cold bitch, but she was smart and knew how to use her powers very well. Bonnie was struggling to find her location.
After the mayhem Jonas caused at the Mystic Grill, Katherine had dressed up as Elena and lured him to the Gilbert house where they killed him. Thankfully he had given Bonnie back her powers and a way to kill Klaus. The first thing the young Bennett thought of was getting rid of Selene. The only thing standing in the way of that was finding her.
"Why is this taking so damn long?" Damon questions, standing from the couch and pacing around the room.
"Because, Damon, Selene is a witch, much older than me might I add. She wasn't dumb, she put some kind of blockage on their location so we couldn't find her, but I can breakthrough, it's just gonna take a second and patience." Bonnie sighs.
"Well, we don't have a second. Liz has already texted me three times, they found five new bodies." He informs angrily.
"Selene's killing people left and right." Stefan states.
"And Maddys seeing all of it," Elena says sympathetically.
They all knew how much Maddy hated hurting innocent people. They couldn't imagine what she was feeling having to sit back and watch it happen. Especially when there was nothing possible she could do.
"Stating the obvious isn't helping." Damon huffs, glancing between his brother and Elena.
He was angry at himself for even sending her with Stefan anyway. The only reason she went was because he asked her to. If he would've let Stefan go alone, they probably would've already had Selene out of Madison's body and dead by now.
"I found her!" Bonnie shouts, gaining the attention of everyone in the room. "She's in the cemetery."
"What's she doing there?" Stefan questions.
"Who cares." Damon shrugs. "Let's go get rid of this crazy witch." He sighs.
"Are you guys completely sure about this?" Bonnie asks. "Her humanity will be off." She reminds them.
"We'll get it back on. Right now we focus on killing Selene." Stefan nods.
~~~~~~~~~~
"Now remember, Maddy has to be the one to kill Selene," Bonnie speaks as the four of them make their way into the cemetery.
"There she is." Stefan points.
Selene stood there in Maddy's body looking up at the sky. It looked like she was getting ready to cast a spell. Candles surrounded her and her lips were moving, almost like she was chanting something.
"Alright, let's do this," Damon says before speeding over and knocking Selene out of the circle of candles.
Bonnie walks forward with her arms out, chanting the spell that she remembered from the grimoire. Selene tries using her magic to snap Damon and Stefan's neck, but panics when she realizes it wasn't working. Bonnie's spell was disabling her powers.
Stefan quickly rushes over, pushing Selene into a nearby tree and shoving his hand into her chest. Her eyes widen as the familiar grey veins start to appear on Madison's body.
"Anytime now, Bonnie!" Damon shouts, rushing the witch.
"Just a little longer!" She yells as she starts chanting another spell.
As the veins move up Maddy's neck the black smoke leaves her body, slowly turning into human form.
"Now Stefan!" Bonnie demands, making the younger Salvatore quickly pull his hand out of Madison's chest, the veins slowly retreating from her body.
Selene stood there with a frown on her face. She was in her own body, wearing a long blue torn up dress with her hair tied into a frizzy braid. Flicking her wrist, she sends Stefan and Damon flying into a tree. Using her powers, a circle of fire surrounds her and Maddy who sat on the ground weakly.
Elena goes running towards the circle only to be held back by Bonnie. "No, Elena. She'll kill you." She says.
"She's gonna kill Maddy! Look at her, she can't fight anyone right now." The doppelgänger cries.
"She'll be ok. Madison is strong. She'll win."
Selene steps closer to Maddy, kicking her in the leg. "Get up!" She shouts.
"No." Maddy shakes her head.
She had never felt this weak before. Not even when she was dying from the werewolf bite. Her whole body burned, her head ached, and her chest still felt like someone was tearing her heart out. She felt helpless and tired.
"You're just gonna lay there and let me kill you?" Selene laughs, breaking off a branch from the tree. "I knew you were weak but I didn't actually think you were a coward. Just like that pathetic dead daughter of yours. I guess I did her a favor when I made Stefan and Damon kill her." She smirks.
Damon and Stefan's anger sparked at the mention of the little girl they had loved so much. They both speed over to the circle, but the flames grew higher. Too high for them to get in.
"Genevieve's death was an accident," Maddy states in a raspy voice.
"Are you really that stupid?" Selene questions with a chuckle. "I'm the reason they killed her. I hexed them. I would've killed her myself, but I thought having Stefan and Damon do it was more fun."
Madison's face quickly turns cold. She slowly rises to her feet, her hard eyes set on Selene. It was like no one else was around. Anger flooded her body as she seethed. Selene's eyes widened in fear as Maddy speeds toward her, sinking her teeth into her jugular and viciously ripping her head clean off her body. Everyone watched in shock as she turned around, blood dripping from her mouth. It didn't take a genius to tell that Madison Sinclair's humanity switch was off.
~~~~~~~~~~
Numbness. That's all Maddy felt as she laid in bed staring up at the ceiling. She was in fresh clothes, with no more dirt or blood on her body. The shower she took was relaxing, but she still couldn't feel any emotion. She sat in there for hours thinking about her family dying, thinking about all the people Selene killed, she even tried thinking about Genevieve again, but she still couldn't bring herself to feel a thing. No more anger, no more sadness, no more hurt. It was all gone. Everything that kept her human and made her herself, wasn't there anymore. She felt nothing.
"Knock, knock," Damon speaks, sauntering into the room holding a couple of blood bags in his hand. "I brought you a little pick me up to help with the whole, no humanity situation." He smiles, receiving nothing but a head nod in return.
"Thanks." She states.
Damon lets out a chuckle as he sets the bags down beside her. Even with no humanity on she still had manners.
"How are you feeling?" He questions, sitting beside her.
"Like I have no humanity. I'm not feeling anything." She answers, not even sparing him a glance.
"Yeah, I kind of figured that." He sighs, scratching the back of his neck.
"Why didn't you guys tell me you had a spell to get Selene out of me?" She asks, furrowing her eyebrows.
"It was a last-minute thing." Damon lies.
"Right," Maddy nods. "So last minute that Bonnie was able to memorize it?" She questions, finally looking at Damon. "Do I look stupid to you?"
Damon stared at her, taken back by her question. "What do you mean?"
"You guys knew my humanity was the price to pay for getting rid of her, didn't you?"
Damon averts his gaze to the floor as he slowly nods his head. "We were just trying to help."
"By taking it upon yourselves to make decisions for me?" She tilts her head. "I'm not Elena. I don't need you guys deciding things for me. Next time there's a situation that involves me, you tell me." She demands, standing up from the bed.
"I don't understand why you're making such a big deal about this. We were doing it for you." He says, also standing from the bed.
"It's a big deal because now I'm stuck feeling nothing! I look at you and I feel nothing. I think about my dead daughter and I couldn't care less. But you're right, it's not a big deal for me, it should be a big deal for you though because without my humanity I could tear everyone in this town apart and not feel a single ounce of sympathy. So if I were you I'd make sure you and your friends don't piss me off again, because who knows what I'll do."
