Zhan Wemei was cultivating this late at night, she already knows the situation of the city through boss Jiang. Although he told her not to worry she still paid special attention to the situation outside, she even brought her children to stay with the Jiang family just in case.
She furrowed her brows when one of the silver lightning wolves reported the chaos outside, not long after the entire city was awakened with fear. The city lord requested help from cultivators and martial artists because his troops could barely hold on.
"mother, father, we will go out to see the situation and help the city lord. You all should stay here with sister Wemei" Jiang Nan spoke calmly as he clutches his sword tightly.
"yes, don't worry about us. We will be fine" Jiang Manman smiled as he also put on his outer robe seeing the worried expression of their parents.
"watch for each other" madam Jiang said softly with bitter tears, if possible she didn't want any of them to go but couldn't just stop them from going.
"Why don't you guys just stay here, I should go instead" patriarch Jiang insisted full of worry because he knows best that this time the beast tide isn't as simple as the previous ones.
"Father, how can that be? just stay here to guard the house, we will be back" Jiang Shan laughed as he dragged his two brothers outside followed by ten other guards.
Zhan Wemei heard their conversation when she walked toward them. Her eyes flashed as she paused with a thought.
Since her three new brothers were going out she decided to follow them, she didn't inform patriarch Jiang and the madam as she also left sneakily. With her strength, the guards couldn't detect her at all.
She quietly followed them to the city walls where screams, clashing, and roaring could be heard. Apparently, the city barrier cracked big enough for the spirit beast to get inside. Aside from the troops she also saw the mercenaries who came back here with her from the mountain village.
The spirit beasts started attacking ferociously, making Zhan Wemei's hair stand. It has been like this every beast tide, so the people fighting on the border are already used to it.
She swallowed her saliva as she thought of her kids, she won't allow any of the spirit beasts to even step foot inside the city.
With a wave of her hand, a white bow with a delicate design appeared in her hands as she flew to the tallest building in the city. Her hands quickly move as several arrows swiftly shoot like lightning hitting the rampaging beasts who manage to enter the city.
No one initially paid attention to her as it was chaotic, but at that moment everyone couldn't help but look in her direction after she fired those rugged arrows accurately.
"big brother, isn't that sister Wemei?" Jiang Manman blurted full of surprise. Even if the others could hardly recognize her, they could tell just based on her clothes at a glance.
"It's really her. Eldest brother, what should we do?" Jiang Shan turned to Jiang Nan anxiously.
"Manman, you go there and help her. You all follow us" Jiang Nan said after giving it some thought. It won't be so dangerous for her as long as they dealt with the beasts trying to enter the city. Besides, they really need all the help they could get.
