In the bakery, Sabine helps serve the six remaining customers in line.

Sabine: Hello, welcome to Tom and Sabine Boulangerie, how can I help you?

Male customer: One key lime pie, please?

Sabine: Okay. Would that be a whole pie or a slice of pie?

Male customer: A slice of pie, please? *Sabine put in the total. *

Sabine: That'll be 2 euros, please? *He reached into his pocket, pulled out his wallet got out 2-euro bills, and handed it to Sabine. * Thank you. *She puts the money in the register. Then gets a small box, goes to the pie display, and cuts a piece of key lime pie, she puts the slice in the box and closes it up. * Your pie, sir.

Male customer: Thank you.

Sabine: You're welcome. *The man leaves the bakery. * Next, please? *The next customer walked up to the counter. * Hello, ma'am and welcome to the Tom and Sabine Boulangerie. How can I help you?

Female customer: I would like one dozen mint macarons, please. *Sabine put in the total. *

Sabine: That'll be 6 euros, please? *The lady opened her purse, got out her wallet pulled out a debit card, handed it to Sabine, and scanned it. * Here you go.

Female customer: Thank you. *Sabine grabbed a box, went to the macaron display, and put 12 mint macarons inside, she closed the box and placed the box on the counter. *

Sabine: Here you go, 12 mint macarons.

Female customer: Thank you. *She takes the box and leaves the bakery. *

Sabine: Next, please? *A male customer walked up to the counter. * Hello, welcome to the Tom and Sabine Boulangerie, how can I help you?

Male customer: I would like a red velvet cake, if you please.

Sabine: Would that be a slice cake or a whole cake?

Male customer: A whole cake. My parents are coming into town and my mother loves red velvet cake.

Sabine: That's nice. Okay, that'll be 8 euros, please? *He goes into his pocket, gets out his wallet, pulls out a 10-euro bill, and hands it to Sabine. * Thank you. *She puts the money in the register. Then, she grabbed a box, went to the cake display got the whole red velvet cake, then carefully put it in the box, and closed it up. * Here's your cake, sir.

Male customer: Thank you. My mom's gonna love it.

Sabine: I'm sure she will. *He leaves the bakery too. * Next, please? *The next customer walked up to the counter. In Ms. Mendeleiev's class, she goes through the last bit of the Nervous System. She wrote down on the board stepped to the right and explained more. *

Ms. Mendeleiev: Now, to include our topic, this system sends messages back and forth between the brain and the body. The brain is what controls all the body's functions. The spinal cord runs from the brain down through the back. It contains threadlike nerves that branch out to every organ and body part. This network of nerves relays messages back and forth from the brain to different parts of the body. Now, you're all probably wondering how the Nervous System works. Well, the nervous system uses tiny cells called neurons, to send messages back and forth from the brain, through the spinal cord, to the nerves throughout the body. And billions of neurons work together to create a communication network. Different neurons have different jobs. For example, sensory neurons send information from the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and skin to the brain. Motor neurons carry messages away from the brain to the rest of the body to allow muscles to move. These connections make up the way we think, learn, move, and feel. They control how our bodies work — regulating breathing, digestion, and the beating of our hearts. *She gives them a chance to catch up on the notes before moving on to something else. * You all got it done?

Rose: Almost. *She keeps writing down the last bit of notes. * I got it now.

Ms. Mendeleiev: Okay. Let me show you the diagram of your Nervous System. *She pulled the cord down and revealed the Nervous System diagram to everyone. *

Kim: Whoa.

Ms. Mendeleiev: This is your Nervous System. And what our Nervous system does. Now since we have 10 more minutes until class ends, I want to discuss a homework assignment with you guys. *Some students groaned at that. *

Chloe: Seriously, again?

Ms. Mendeleiev: Hey, no groaning. I told you we'll be doing stuff like this. You need to be more fluent and understanding. You can't expect to have no homework, can you? *She grabbed an eraser and erased the notes on the Nervous System, and she wrote down Homework on the board and underlined it. * Now, your homework tonight is to pick a Nervous System disorder and write a one-page report on it based on these three questions. *She writes down the first bullet point. * What disorder do you choose? *Then write another bullet point. * What does that disorder do and what is the function of that disorder? And lastly... *She writes down the last bullet point. * Can that disorder be treated why or why not? Those are the questions I'll be looking for from you all when you turn it in tomorrow. Any questions? *No one has any questions. * Good. *She pulled the chart back up and the bell rang. * Class dismissed. See you tomorrow. *They all gathered their stuff and left her classroom. Soon, the rain has stopped, and gray clouds start to move away. *

Alya: At least the rain stopped.

Marinette: For now, anyway.

Alix: At least we're learning something new for once.

Alya: True. *They head to their lockers and get their stuff for their next class. Then, from a far distance, Lila looked over at Marinette and she looked concerned about what was going on. So, she heads over to Chloe. *

Lila: Hey, you got a minute?

Chloe: That depends on what it is. *She opens her locker and gets her lip gloss from her purse. *

Lila: There's something you should know.

Chloe: What's that? *She put on lip gloss and rubbed her lips together. *

Lila: Adrien had hurt his nose.

Chloe: What? How?

Lila: He said that he hit a pole. But I don't think he did.

Chloe: What are you saying? Did someone hit him or something?

Lila: My guess exactly. *She looked over and saw Marinette writing in her day planner and getting her math stuff for Mr. Tenny's class. * I think Marinette had something to do with it.

Chloe: Dupain-Cheng? You're joking, right?

Lila: It's just a feeling I have. I'm good at guessing these things.

Chloe: If she did have something to do with this, what should we do?

Lila: Easy. Tell his father, of course.

Chloe: Then he'll pull Adrien out of school if you say this school is "violent" for him and he'll be back to Homeschool.

Lila: We'll go with that if anything comes to mind. In the meantime, let's keep an eye on Marinette. (Your time will come to an end, Marinette. I said I would turn all of your friends against you and I'm sticking with it.) *They both walk to their next classes. Then, Vincent and Lawrence were walking to class together. *

Vincent: Hey, did you see last night's season finale of Laser Wars?

Lawrence: No, I didn't. And don't tell me how it ends. I recorded it on my VCR and I'm planning on watching it after school, so don't throw out any hints, okay?

Vincent: You have my word.

Lawrence: Thank you. (You better keep your mouth shut for the rest of the day or else.) *Lawrence goes to his science class and Vincent goes to his history class. *

In Mr. Tenny's class, Mr. Tenny went through attendance, and everyone was there so, he wrote down the lesson on the board and turned to everyone.

Mr. Tenny: Okay, so we are still learning about the Absolute Value and inequalities, some of you are not understanding it while some of you are getting it, which is good. We will do more practice until you all fully understand the whole thing.

Alya: I hope we get no test this weekend.

Nino: I'm still stumped.

Adrien: I'll help you.

Nino: Thanks, dude. *They all paid attention to Mr. Tenny's lesson and took notes too. *

Mr. Tenny: I'm gonna show you an example of how to do it and let you guys do it on your own. *He writes down the problem on the board and steps to the left. * This is how you solve an Absolute Value. First, you isolate the absolute value. Meaning: you write two equations without absolute values. The first equation will set the quantity inside the bars on the left side equal to the quantity inside the bars on the right side. Like this. *He writes down 5-2x=11 and 5-2x=-11 on the board and everyone copies the example down. * We already did step 2, which is to split the equation up into two separate equations. And finally, solve each of the equations. Who would like to solve them both? *Marinette raised her hand. * Okay, Marinette. *Marinette got up, walked up to the board, and solved them both. * Hmm. That looks right to me. Thank you, Marinette.

Marinette: Thank you. *She sits back down next to Alya. *

Mr. Tenny: You all see what she did and how she got the answer? *They all answered yes, Lila rolled her eyes and scoffed. * Okay, good. Let's do some on your own and we'll go over it all later before class ends. *He erased the example on the board and wrote down the problems on the board. * You have to do 10 problems and we'll go over them. Also, you can work together or by yourself if you like. *He sits down at his desk and does some work of his own. In the bakery, Sabine then served the last 2 customers in line, she handed a man a box of fresh banana nut muffins. *

Sabine: Here you go, enjoy your muffins.

Male customer: Thank you, Sabine. *He takes the box and leaves the bakery. *

Sabine: Next, please? *The next customer walked up to the counter. * Hello, ma'am and welcome to the Tom and Sabine Boulangerie. How can I help you?

Female customer: Hello. Do you still have those strawberry sprinkle donuts?

Sabine: Yes, we do, ma'am.

Female customer: Okay. I would like one, please.

Sabine: Okay. *She put in the total of the donut. * That'll be 1 euro, please? *She opened her purse, got out a 1-euro bill, and handed it to Sabine. * Thank you. *She puts the money in the register, grabs a small bag and tongs, picks up a strawberry sprinkle donut, and puts it in the bag, she puts the tongs down and closes up the bag. * Here's your donut.

Female customer: Thank you. *She takes the bag and leaves the bakery. *

Sabine: Next, please? *The last customer walked up to the counter. * Hello, sir. Welcome to the Tom and Sabine Boulangerie, how can I help you?

Male customer: I would like one fruit tart, please.

Sabine: Okay, one fruit tart. That'll be 6 euros, please? *The man reached into his pocket, got out his wallet, handed Sabine 6 euros, she took the money and put it in the register, closed the register too. She grabbed a box and put the fruit tart inside and closed it up. * Here's your fruit tart, sir.

Male customer: Thank you. *He takes the box where his tart is inside and leaves the bakery. *

Sabine: Hmm. That's it for now. You better start cleaning up. *She grabbed a rag and a spray bottle; she started cleaning the counter. * Tom, no more customers.

Tom: Huh?

Sabine: Yes. We will be going on our break soon.

Tom: Okay. Just let me take care of a few things.

Sabine: Okay. *Tom gets back to baking as Sabine starts cleaning the counter and sweeping the floor too. In the kitchen, the timer went off and Tom checked on the cupcakes and they were hot and fully baked. *

Tom: Okay, cupcakes are baked both vanilla and chocolate. *Then, a second timer went off and he checked on the pies. * Hmm, both blueberry, strawberry, boysenberry, lemon meringue and cherry pies are done. *He takes one out at a time and lets them cool off. *

In Mr. Tenny's class, the students got done with their problems and one by one, students solved them, and they got it right.

Mr. Tenny: Okay, think we all got a better understanding of the whole thing? *Everyone answered yes to Mr. Tenny. * Good. We have 5 more minutes until the bell rings, so I have two things to tell you. One: you do have homework; you'll pick it up on your way out. Just do 1-5 and you'll be done in a flash. It's just based on what we learned today. And two: no test this week, we'll have a test next week, I have to think of a date for it and let you all know when it is, okay? *Everyone answered yes to Mr. Tenny, and then the bell rang. * Class dismissed. Pick up your homework sheet on the way out. *They start gathering their stuff, grab their homework on the way out, and leave the classroom too, and everyone heads to lunch. *
