"Shockwave, you shouldn't go alone." I said, following the lavender mech as he made his way to the ground bridge control room.
"Y/D, it is illogical for you to follow. You are still recovering from your last incident."
"But you will need my tracking skills, not to mention I could use the exercise if we scrap with any Autobots." I said firmly. Shockwave paused and shook his helm.
"There is no convincing you otherwise is there?"
"A logical conclusion. I swore to stay by your side since we first met. I intend on keeping my promise." Shockwave nodded, and we both went through and out to what appeared to be a human oil refinery. I spread my wings and took flight, hovering above Shockwave and looking about for any potential danger. That's when I spotted 2 mechs darting from place to place. "Shockwave, we have 2 targets. I am going to keep them busy." I called to him, darting forward and landing in front of the dark blue mech. He jumped back with a loud yelp and aimed his blaster at me.
"What the slag are you?!" He exclaimed.
"What are you and your friend doing here?" I growled, catching the black and yellow mech's attention as well.
"Smokescreen, I think that's the guy who got Bulkhead back at Darkmount." The black and yellow mech beeped.
"This old tin can? Bumblebee please, he looks like he has one pede in the scrapheap!" The one called Smokescreen said. I busted out laughing at his comment, startling the young mechs.
"I may have one pede in the scrapheap, but that doesn't mean I can't hunt." I said, readying the spear and baring my fangs. "Shall we dance, prey?" The mech called Bumblebee charged at me, and I blocked his attack, forcing him back. "A decent strike, but you need to be lighter than that." I then swung at the mech and used the momentum of my swing to jump over him and land behind him with a loud thud. "Now come at me prey!"
I continued to battle with the two mechs, blocking their strikes and countering with my own. I would offer pointers to them as would be tradition for an elder battling a youth.
"Keep your center of balance, young prey, and counter against me. You keep faltering." I said to Smokescreen as I blocked a blow from him.
"Why are you giving us battle tips when we are clearly trying to scrap you?" Smokescreen growled, slamming is fist to my face that I blocked with my large servo.
"I often forget that your kind does not have the same practice. Perhaps if any of us survive, I shall teach you. But for now, think fast!" I said, swiping the spear at the young mech and kicking him in the chassis. Smokescreen went flying into one of the drills with a loud crash, my focus now on the one called Bumblebee as he charged at me. I grabbed him and used his own momentum to send him crashing into his commrade. "Never charge full force against an enemy far larger than yourself." I said, the two mechs groaning in their pile. I then strapped the spear to my back and grabbed them, hoisting them up so they were optic level.
"Drop 'em Con!" I heard a femme say, my helm turning to the small two-wheeler with curiosity.
"I do not know of what you speak young femme, but if you were worrying that I was going to terminate the young mechs, that is not how a Drakas does things." I said, chucking them over to her. "They have potential to be great hunters, and the fact that you snuck up on me is quite impressive. I must, however, bid you fairwell as I am weary and need rest." I then took to the skies and glided back to Shockwave, who had the fossil in hand. As I was about to land, I felt a shock of pain hit my back, and I went down hard, sliding next to Shockwave with a grunt.
I got up with a growl and glared upward at the flying Autobot I recognized as Optimus Prime. I shielded Shockwave from the Prime with my wings, standing my ground. Optimus then dove at me and slammed his blade against my spear, a wave of sparks flying. I let out a strained grunt as I battled with him, my energy levels dropping rapidly and my spark threatening to give out.
"Prime, I do not wish to terminate you. You are no prey." I growled, our weapons locked together. "But I can not allow you to stop this or harm Shockwave!" Optimus then slammed his pede into me and went for Shockwave, who was now engaged with the two young mechs. I slammed my fist into them and sent them flying back, the swirling green portal of a ground bridge opening.
Shockwave made a run for the portal and was stopped by the Prime, instinct putting me in high gear as he attempted to attack Shockwave. I used the spear as a sort of pole vault over Shockwave and slamming my pedes directly into the Prime's face, forcing him over the edge.
I then spotted Smokescreen grab at the fossil along with Bumblebee, and I shoved the pair of them out of the way. I then grabbed Shockwave under my arm and ran through the portal just before it closed.
"Y/D, this was highly illogical." Shockwave protested in my arm. I righted the lavender scientist and gave him a tired shrug.
"But it worked, didn't it?" I said. "Sometimes you gotta be a bit illogical to survive feisty prey." I then followed Shockwave to the bridge, Megatron and Starscream waiting for us.
"You're retrieved the fossil?" Megatron asked, to which Shockwave nodded. "Did you encounter the Autobots while you were out there?"
"We did and had to engage in combat. Optimus Prime was involved in the skirmish, but Y/D managed to neutralize him long enough for us to escape."
"You engaged with Optimus?" Megatron asked, to which I nodded.
"He was not easy prey and will no doubt return. We were outnumbered in this situation, 4 prey against 2 hunters." I said, leaning heavily on the spear as fatigue hit me. "I'm afraid the battle has taken a toll on me."
"Shockwave, Y/D, if we are to bring Project Predacon into fruition, both of you will need to focus your efforts away from combat." Megatron said.
"Then I will leave the collecting of bones and supplies to Starscream, with your permission Lord Megatron, I must tend to Y/D." Megatron nodded, and Shockwave and I left the bridge and went to the lab. I sat on the medical table, and Shockwave delicately looked me over and patched up my injuries. He then injected my treatment and guided me to my berth, where I curled up comfortably.
"We will need to relocate soon Y/D." Shockwave said.
"Of course, have the vehicons brought the necessary items to the cave I suggested the other day?"
"Yes, it was a very logical choice. But we will worry about that later. Please rest and don't do anything that reckless again." I chuckled in amusement at the mech before resting my helm on my arms and going into a deep recharge.
