"What are you doing here?" David asked, hugging Esther genuinely.

"What are you doing here?" she shot back. "Oh! David, this is Harry. Harry, this is David."

"Pleasure to meet you," Harry said, shaking David's hand.

"Right back at you," he said, eyeing him. "You look familiar."

"I'm Harry Styles."

"From One Direction," Esther added, "The rest of the band is over there."

She pointed across the street. David nodded slowly, he was sizing up Harry.

"Your dad invited me along," David went on, looking at Esther with dancing eyes. "I thought you were in the UK."

"I was," she said, nodding slowly. "Then I met Louis and he invited me to hang out with One Direction. And here we are."

Esther was feeling butterflies in her stomach. She felt excited; she was happy to see David, but why? Harry's eyes bounced from David to Esther. He had to restrain himself from smiling. He could tell that David fancied Esther. However, did she feel the same about him?

"I'll let you two catch up," Harry said, trying to hint to David. "It was a pleasure meeting you, David. Esther, I'll see you later."

She watched him walk away, and then smiled at David.

"I know it's only been a couple of days," he began in a low voice. "But I missed you."

"You did?" she asked in a small voice.

"Yeah... It was strange going to work, and you not being there."

Esther blushed, "David," she said slowly. "When I was leaving, I felt that I might not see you again. Then you shouted that you would be there when I got back."

David smiled bashfully. "I didn't think you had heard me," he said with a nervous chuckle. "I also thought that I was never going to see you again."

Her stomach did a flip-flop. "Then it is a good thing we are both here, huh?"

"Yeah... maybe I'm being given a second chance. I am a serious wuss."

"You are not a wuss."

"OK, then I am a chicken."

Esther laughed, "Why are you a chicken?" she asked.

"Because I never had the guts to ask you out," he replied.

Her smile grew wider. "David, were you afraid that I would reject you?"

"Yes..."

"David, fear is a sickness."

He chuckled and offered Esther his hand. She took it and they went walking together.

Meanwhile, Harry had just rejoined the other band members.

"Where is Esther?" Louis asked when Harry entered the room.

"Her friend David is her with her dad," he replied, sitting on the floor. "I decided to let them catch up, since David obviously seems to fancy her. It was noticeable, in the way he looked at her."

"Her dad?"

"Esther's dad is a pastor."

"Imagine that," Niall said, he was on the bed with Zayn and Liam.

"I wonder if Esther fancies David in return," Zayn said.

"Only one way to find out," Liam said, "We wait for her to come back."

"If she comes back," Harry said with a chuckle.

"Haz!" Louis scolded, throwing a pillow at him. "How can you be so dirty minded?"

"Yeah," Niall stood and went over to Harry. "Esther is not that kind of a girl, obviously."

The boys looked at Harry with disgust. He rolled his eyes and propped his feet up against the floor.

The next morning when Harry woke up, he found the room empty. He got up, pulled on his shoes, and went out. He asked around until someone told him where his band mates were.

"Hospital," the man replied, pointing down the road at the building.

"Thank you," Harry said and raced to the hospital.

He found the lads in the children's wing, playing with the children. Esther and David were there as well.

"About time you showed," Louis said slight frustration; he was still a bit disgusted from the night before.

"How long have you been here?" Harry asked, sitting down.

"Around an hour," Liam replied, he was building a tower of blocks with one of the young boys.

"You look like you slept on the wrong side of the floor," Esther said, looking at Harry with concern. "Is everything OK?"

He looked at her softly, examining her eyes. They were dancing, not the way Harry expected, but they full of genuine concern.

"You didn't come back," he said as she sat next to him.

"Yes I did," Esther said, "You were dead asleep. You did not feel me fix your feet. You had them propped up on the wall."

Harry smiled slowly. "I thought you might stay with your dad and David."

"They offered, but I told them that I came with you guys. I was not going to ditch you guys and go back on what I said."

She handed him an apple. He took it and nodded his thanks.

"Esther," Joey said, coming towards her. "My sister wants to meet you."

"OK," she said, standing as he tugged gently at her arm. "Harry, wanna come?"

"Sure," Harry replied, standing and following them out.

Joey led them into a room with ten beds. Each bed, and crib, had a sick child resting in its covers. They walked up to one of the sick girls. She had tubes sticking everywhere and she wore an oxygen mask.

"Her name is Keera," Joey said before running back out of the room.

"Hi Keera," Esther said, kneeling beside the bed.

The girl smiled weakly and extended her hand to Esther.

"Pray for me," she whispered, "Please, I want to..."

Esther nodded slowly and placed her other hand on Keera's shoulder gently.

"Jesus does not want you sick when you go home," she said before kissing the girl's forehead.

She closed her eyes and bowed her head. Harry was hesitant, but he did the same and placed a hand on Keera's free hand.

"Father," Esther prayed softly. "I lift up Keera to You. Lord, come and touch her right now. Give her rest in this moment. Strengthen her weak body; come and take away this infirmity. Cast it out of Keera's little body, send it back to where it came from, in Jesus' mighty name. It does not have power anymore; we rebuke it out never to return. Send Keera home, completely cured. We thank You, Father, thank you for hearing our prayer. In Jesus' name, amen."

When Esther looked up at Keera, the little girl's expression was peaceful as she kept her eyes closed.

"Thank you," Keera whispered as she breathed her last.

Esther kissed the girl and looked at Harry. He was looking at her in horror, tears in his eyes.

"What have you done?" He asked before leaving the room.

Esther did not get up and go after him. She looked back at Keera, she knew that she was in a better place now.
