"Hey Alex can you come pick me up?" I ask as Alex answers my call.

"Uh, yeah, where are you?" He answers and I can barely hear him over all of the noise.

"312 Pembrooke street. Nick is with me until his ride gets here. What's going on?"

"I'll be there soon. Stay there." He hangs up and I stare at my phone, confused.

"Everything okay?" Nick asks and I smile some, nodding.

"You did great tonight." I say looking up at Nick. His soft brown eyes looked into mine and he smiled, his dimples showing.

"Did I really? I nearly cried when I saw you. I hope it wasn't super obvious." He laughs some, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Not suuuuper obvious." I joke and he rolls his eyes.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm a crybaby." He shrugs, walking around on the open road. It was nearly 12am so there was no traffic whatsoever. He pressed play on a song and hummed along some. Put your head on my shoulder Paul Anka.

"What are you doing?" I ask, tilting my head some as I watch him sway around.

"Dance with me." He holds out his hands and I raise an eyebrow skeptically.

"Please." He pouts, making a puppy dog face.

"Ughhhhhh. Fine." I place my hands into his and he pulls me out into the road, twirling me around.

"People say... that love's a game...A game... you just... can't win..." He quietly sings along, spinning me around once again before pulling me close. He wraps his arms loosely around my waist and pulls me into a hug. I loosely drape my arms over his shoulders.

"If there's a way... I'll find it someday... and then this fool will... rush in..." He mumbles, looking down at me, biting his lip. He slowly moves in and I panic, hiding my face in his chest. He sighs, just accepting the hug.

"I'm sorry. I just. I can't help it." He says quietly, ashamed.

"I know. I'm sorry too." I say, looking up at him.

"You mean a lot to me, just not how you want. Does that make sense?" I say and he nods, smiling some.

"Friendship is better than a sunken ship." He says and I roll my eyes.

"You're such a weirdo."

"I'm proud to be." He says, turning to look towards the road. We pull apart as a car pulls up and Alex rolls down the window.

"Let's go." He says, rubbing his eyes.

"Okay." I hug Nick and say my goodbyes before getting into the car.

"Alex?" I ask, looking over at him. He looked like a wreck. His hair was a mess and his tired eyes were glazed over with anxiety.

"There was an incident. We're going to the bus and you're not gonna leave it, understood?" He says, driving away from Nick, leaving him to wait for his friend to get him.

"Why? I didn't think bus call would he so strict tonight since-"

"This is my rule." He says sternly, gripping the steering wheel.

"Alex, what happened?" I ask and he doesn't respond, keeping his eyes on the road.

"I'll just ask Jack since you're being stubborn." I say, pulling out my phone.

"He can't answer. Tori just stop." He yells and I flinch, instinctively moving away from him with my arm up.

"I'm sorry. It's been a long night." He sighs, pulling to the side of the road. He stops the car and stares out at the empty street.

"There was a fight." He finally says, looking out the window.

"Well are the fans okay? I mean I know the pit can be rough but-"

"It was Jack and Awsten." He stops me and my heart drops.

"W-what?"

"Awsten found out about you seeing Nick. Things went out of proportion. Jack is getting stitches as we speak." He turns to look at me and tears began to pour from his eyes.

"Its all my fault!" His lips tremble as the words fall out. His breath hitches and he inhales sharply.

"Alex no- i- it's not your fault. They chose to fight. Alex let me drive you're in no condition to drive right now." I say, unbuckling my seatbelt. He nods some and we trade places.

"Alex what happened?" I ask, starting the car.

"It's all my fault. I shouldn't have talked to Nick to plan for you two to see each other. I shouldn't have-" He cried hard, hiding his face in his hands.

"Alex, stop. It's not your fault. I chose to leave. I did. Not you." I stop him. His anxiety always took over in situations like this. Violence always turned him for the worst in his mental state.

"Jack went too far. I tried to stop him."  His voice trembles as he looks down at his hands. I glance over at him and my heart aches as I see the scabs that were forming over cuts on his knuckles.

"Is Awsten okay?" I ask and he doesn't answer. He clenched his fists, pulling at his sleeves. My heart sinks as I continue to drive.

"The bus is that way." He motions towards the left.

"I know." I turn right, making my way towards the hospital.

"I don't think you should go to-"

"I don't care. I'm going to make sure you are okay and then I'm going to check on my boys whether you like it or not. I know you didn't get checked out because you're stubborn and worry about everyone else more than yourself. Does Lisa know?" I say and he shakes his head some.

"Do you plan on telling her?"

"She's not going to be happy." Alex mumbles, shaking his leg anxiously.

"I won't tell her if you don't." I look over at him and he seems somewhat relieved.

"Does it burn?" I ask, looking down at his wrist. He was holding it tightly, not daring to move it.

"Yeah.. how'd you know?" He looks up at me.

"That's how I knew I broke my ankle when I was playing soccer. It felt like fire coursing through my entire leg."

"Do you think it's broken?"

"At the very least, fractured."

He sighs, not loosening his grip on his wrist. He stares down at it as tear develop in his eyes.

"You'll be able to play in about 8 weeks if it's broken. 6 if it's fractured. I know you're worried. I am too. But I promise it's not as bad as you think it is." I reassure him and he wipes away his tears as we pull up to the hospital.

"Come on, let's get you checked out." I say, getting out of the car. I walk around and open his door to let him out. We walk inside and we are immediately met by Rian, Zack, Otto, Grace, and Geoff.

"Fucking finally. Are you okay?" Zack asks and I nod, leading Alex to the front desk. I filled out his paperwork and a nurse lead us towards an empty room. Out of the corner of my eye I see Jack looking out at us as we walk by.

"Tori I-"

"Don't even." I say, walking past him. We walk into the room and the nurse begins to look at Alex's arm.

"I'll be back." I say and he nods some. I walk out and go into the room with Jack.

"Is it okay if we have some alone time?" I ask the nurse.

"Yes, I'll be back soon though. Make sure he behaves." She says, laughing some as she walks out. I turn to Jack and he laughs some, looking down at the ground.

"Quit that shit. What the hell were you thinking?!" I whisper yell and his smile drops.

"He disrespected you. I couldn't handle hearing it." He says, avoiding eye contact.

"Why are you hiding your face?" I ask and he shrugs.

"Jack." I say sternly and he looks up at me. His left eye is black and swollen. His lip is busted and bleeding some. His hair was messing scattered around and had dried blood in it. His left hand had stitches running across his knuckles and the other one was wrapped up in bandages.

"Jack what did you do..." I walk closer and gently place my hand on the side of his face that didn't have any injuries.

"He isn't good for you, Tori." He sighs.

"Where is he..?" I ask and he weakly points towards the door.

"Down the hall to the right. He doesn't want visitors. Otto went to see him earlier and Awsten yelled at him until he ran out crying." Jack warned me and I turn to peak out into the hallway.

"I guess that's just the price I'll have to pay." I say, walking towards the room Awsten is in. I hesitate, knocking on the door before walking in.

"For the last time Geoff fuck off I swear to god if you- oh. h-hey Babe." He opens the door and his tone immediately changes.

"Babe? Or should I say, whore who apparently cheats?" I say, crossing my arms and he sighs, looking away.

"Its not like that."

"Or is it? You thought I would cheat on you? With Nick of all people? Awsten why do you-"

"We need a break." He stops me and my heart drops and shatters on the floor in a million pieces.

"W-what?" My voice shakes as the words fall out.

"We need a break. I'm sorry. This isn't working." He sits down on the assessment chair and rubs the bridge of his nose.

"I knew it. You never loved me. You never meant any of the things you told me." Tears stream down my eyes as I tug the promise ring off my finger and slam it down onto the floor.

"Tori let's talk about this."

"There's nothing to talk about." I walk out, closing the door behind me. Alex walks out of his room with a blue cast on this wrist.

"What's wrong?" He asks and I shake my head, crying. He wraps his arms around me as I cry into his chest. Jack walks out of his room and looks at me then his eyes immediately dart towards the door that was opening. With his good hand, he pushes it shut and stands in front of it, locking Awsten inside.

"Its time to go." Alex says and I nod some, sniffling. We all walk out and go to the lobby.

"What happened in there?" Otto asks, worry in his eyes.

"Awsten b-broke up with me." I choke out, crying harder than before. His jaw drops and he instantly hugs me.

"I am so sorry, Tortilla chip." Grace says, joining in on the hug.

"He said we n-needed a break. He thinks I ch-cheated on him." I sob into Otto's shoulder.

"I'm gonna kill him." Geoff says, cracking his knuckles.

"I already tried." Jack says, laughing some.

"Tori we're not gonna go anywhere just because Awsten is a piece of shit. We're still your friends if you want us to be." Geoff says and I nod some, sniffling.

"Of course. I love you guys so much." I pull away from the group hug and wipe my tears away.

"Let's go home." Rian says and we all make our way out to the parking lot. Jawn, Lucas, and Ashley were all standing at their cars, talking. They had all rented cars for the night since the tour buses were emptied out and sent back to the dealership until next tour. Jawn drove with Geoff and Awsten. Grace, Otto, and Lucas had their own car. Ashley was going to take Rian, Zack, and Jack for the night leaving Alex and I to take his car back to the hotel until tomorrow.

"Ready to go?" Alex asks and I nod some, going to his car. He tosses me the keys and we get in. I start the engine and Alex rolls down his window. I turn to look at him as he holds up his middle finger out the window at Awsten as he walks out.

"Alex don't!"

"Can't stop, won't stop." He says, rolling his window back up. I sigh, laughing some. He always knew how to make me laugh.
