you sighed as you walk into the library, "why do i still have to tutor him".

yes, him. y/p. the typical popular 'player' in every school movie. you've known him since you were 4 years old. you were very close before puberty hits because suddenly he's the talk of the town and you drifted apart. and as much as you want to deny it, you do fancy him. you just know it won't happen.

don't get me wrong, you were not the typical kid in shows who gets bullied for being smart. you were also well-liked in school and you do get good grades. but your friend group and his friend group were very different.

you've been tutoring him for four months and it doesn't really help with your feelings.

"hi y/n!" he said cheerfully as you were walking towards the table.

with a small smile, you answered "you seem happy."

"of course i am. i'm getting tutored by my favourite tutor ever. it's always different with you, i like it."

you couldn't help but smile because it reminds you of the sweet boy you've always knew and liked. not the player that everyone talks about.

after finishing the session, you were about to get up when he stopped you, "wait! do you have to leave now?"

"i mean this is over, so yes. i don't stay in the library you know."

"i didn't mean it like that. we don't talk anymore other than tutoring. maybe we can go get slushies and hang out, like how we used to." he didn't gave me a chance to answer before adding a "please y/n".

"fiiiiiiiine" you agreed, dragging the word out.

you left school and went to the shop near his house, you have not been here since you stopped hanging out together. so there was definitely a nostalgia wave that went through you.

"come on, let's go to our spot." he said while holding your hand, almost dragging you.

our spot is just a random rooftop to be honest.

"our spot? i haven't been here in years." crossing my arms while taking in the view.

"well yeah but i've never brought anyone else up here." he said looking at you.

you took a deep breath and sighed before going straight to the point, "what's going on? why are you doing this? this isn't fair, what you're doing to me."

"unfair? you want to know what's unfair? seeing the guys in school flirting with you and getting your attention. and you don't even give me 5 seconds of your day. we don't talk unless its during tutoring sessions."

"what?" you asked, confused.

"you're so blind, y/n. i have feelings for you and you can't even see that." he said, clearly defeated.

"you do? since when?"

"since we first became friends."

"that's a bloody lie. you distanced yourself away from me." you answered, feeling very annoyed.

"yes, because i knew you're out of my league. you grew to be the person everyone wants. you're smart, you're beautiful, you're kind, you're everything good. remaining friends was only going to hurt me because i know you won't see me the same way i see you."

this goon.

"wh- you kissed me."

"you're such a goon. i've loved you since we knew what the word meant, y/p"

"you do?"

"yes, but i just thought we were world's apart when you started distancing yourself from me. just like you, i thought you were out of my league too. so i just shut my feelings down." you finally admitted.

"omg we're both idiots."

"you more than me because i have to tutor you." you joked.

"hey. well, i love you too."

"i know."
