"And... that's the last of it." Harris announced, tearing off his goggles.

Spyder, who was spinning around in an office chair, stopped to look at Harris with his hands together. He gestured to Harris, "Yes, but did you get all of it?"

Harris gave him an irked looked, "Yes," He stressed the word, "I got all of it. The ooze is, as of now, officially gone from beneath the school. They should be able to start reconstruction any day now."

"That's great," Mark said, hopping off the lab table.

"Only you would be excited about school," Spyder stated before taking note of Harris, "Never mind, I take it back. Only you and Harris would be excited for school. For completely different reasons, of course."

Ryan, who had been listening to the conversation with his head in his hands, looked up briefly only to put his head back down.

Mark quirked an eyebrow at his brother before looking to Harris, who shrugged, and then Spyder, who gave a 'Hey don't look at me, I don't know either' look.

Mark squinted at his brother, going up to him and poking him in the shoulder.

Ryan didn't respond.

He poked him again, this time more forcefully.

Ryan's body moved, but still, he said nothing.

Mark poked him once more, this time with even more force than the last.

Ryan jumped in surprise, going as far as to fall off of the lab table in the process.

"Wow," Spyder stated simply, "That's was impressive."

Ryan glared at him from his position on the floor before wincing and holding his head, "Do you guys feel that?"

The other three looked between Ryan and each other, frowning. Harris shrugged again, Spyder made a face, and Mark rolled his eyes up to the ceiling with a sigh before looking back at his brother.

With a huff, Mark made his way over to Ryan. He thrusted a hand in Ryan's general direction. Ryan stared at it before brushing away and attempting to push himself up.

'Attempting' because the second he got an inch off the floor he collapsed back down, looking dazed.

He looked from Spyder to Harris to Mark, the same lost look on his features, "Wha-?"

Harris was the first to act, moving over to Ryan and grabbing his arm as he helped Ryan begin to stand.

Mark caught on, moving to Ryan's other side.

Spyder jumped up as well, standing behind Ryan as a last defense between Ryan and the ground.

Together, the four of them made their way over to the lab table.

Once Ryan was situated, Spyder and Mark backed up so Harris could scan him.

"I've picked up on some abnormal brain activity. It could be nothing..." Harris trailed off, turning to Mark and Spyder, "But it could be something."

"Well..." Mark began, "What do you think it is?"

On the lab table, Ryan groaned, his eyes clenched shut as he winced. Beads of sweat gathered in his brow as for five agonizing minutes he stayed in that position, completely oblivious to the scurrying of his brother and friends as they attempted to cool his rapidly rising temperature.

One minute his was dead to the world, the next had Ryan shooting up, "Call Leo. Now."

"What is it?" Leo snapped, lifting his own goggles onto the top of his head as he peeled off his crusted gloves, "I'm in the middle of something important."

"So are we," Mark announced, arms crossed and glare focused on Leo.

Leo gestured for him to go on, preferably in a hurried manner.

"It's about Ryan," Spyder supplied.

That got Leo's attention. His demeanor changed, going from tense to relieved to worried in a moment.

"What about Ryan?" He asked, nervous to hear the answer.

"He passed out," Harris summarized.

"And now he's asking for you," Mark finished.

"Oh," Leo said to himself, before repeating, "Oh."

Leo looked down, his hands on his hips, "Okay... I'll be right over."

And with that, the transition ended.

"Ryan!" Leo said cheerfully, a smile plastered on his grime-covered face, "What seems to be the problem."

Ryan looked at him, blinked, and gestured for him to lean down so he could whisper something in his ear.

Leo complied. Humming and nodding along until he gasped and jerked back, looking between Ryan and the group with wide-eyes and running into the Living Room of the Mech.

He grabbed the remote, it slipped in his greasy hands and he fumbled, almost dropping it only to catch it mid-air, hold it up with an 'ah-ha!' and then flipped on the tv.

He changed from Gravity Falls to the local new station, where the were broadcasting about the newest natural phenomena, the Aurora Borealis being spotted in Bay City.

Leo ran out of the room, back to Ryan, as the other three came into the room and studied the screen.

None of them knew Harris had such a... colorful vocabulary before he saw the new report.

Harris stalked back into the lab, "You," He gestured to Leo, "With me. You two," Mark and Spyder, respectfully, "Out. The grown-ups are talking."

Mark and Spyder began to protest but Harris glared. That, combined with his snippy 'I-will-blow-up-on-you-don't-test-me' attitude had them running.

As soon as they were gone, Harris turned to Ryan, "You knew."

It wasn't a question.

Ryan nodded in confirmation, "I could feel it. It was like my world, the world, was suddenly... stopped?"

Leo nodded, "It makes sense. I'll try to find the cause."

"And I'll figure a solution," Harris agreed.

Ryan looked between the two, "Care to let me in on the secret?"

Harris and Leo looked at Ryan as if they'd forgotten he was in the room, which they probably had.

"The world's ending." They answered in unison.

"Yeah, I'd gathered that much. But how's it ending this time?"

"Magnetic field-" Harris began.

"-Crashing." Leo finished simply.

"World-"

"-Ending."

"Electrical currents that generate the field seem to have stopped functioning for some reason-"

"-That's where you come in."

"What?" This time it was Harris and Ryan in unison.

"Electrical currents. Technopath. I can't believe we didn't see it before! It works out perfectly!"

"What... What do you mean?" Ryan asked with hesitance.

"Ryan," Leo spoke slowly, "You're going to the center of the Earth."
