Hey, I'm back. My wifi is still out and it's really getting on my nerves (of course I'll be posting this when i have wifi but..) someone snapped the connection line somehow and my provider (rogers) keeps making excuses as to why they haven't fixed it yet. Ugh. Anyways, here's chapter 18...

Joe's POV

I woke up this morning to find out it was 2:30am. I tried to get back to sleep but I couldn't, I then checked my phone to check any social media and it told me there was no Internet connection...Great... I walked downstairs to see Ashley.

"Why is it so dark?" I asked

"Have you not seen the weather? Or heard it?" I looked out the window and saw really heavy rain, lightning and heard rolls of thunder. Oh.

"Huh. Is that why you're awake?"

"Yah, I never sleep through this stuff, why are you awake?"

"Don't know, I just woke up and couldn't fall back asleep." I told her

"Oh. Ok, well let's go light some candles then figure out something to do." Ashley said

"Sure!" We started to look around for candles and I found some in the closet in the bathroom.

"Found some!" I shouted and brang some over to the kitchen.

"perfect, thanks Joseph!"

"No problem" I smiled. We lit the candles and started putting them places where they couldn't be knocked over. Once we finished that we started coming up with ideas of what to do.

"We can let out our inner children, play hide and seek, build a den and all that kind of stuff!" She suggested.

"Yes! Perfect!"

After a few hours of coming up with ideas and chatting about life and crazy stories we heard footsteps coming down the stairs. We both looked over to reveal a tired Alfie.

"Good morning" Ashley and I said in unison

"Morning. Is there like, a power outage or something?" He asked

"yep" I replied

"That sucks" he said

"Mhm"

"Well, what shall we eat? We can't make anything on the stove or in the microwave" he asked

"We can always go out." Ashley suggested. Both Alfie and I nodded in agreement.

"Ok.. Any ideas as to where we could go?"

"There's a Starbucks, a Bob Evans and a Tim Hortons really near by" I said

"Ok, so which one?"

"I'm going to vote for starbucks, how about you Joe?" Alfie asked

"I really don't mind, Ashley?"

"I don't mind either, but I have been craving starbucks lately" Alfie then gave her a high five and we all smiled.

"Starbucks it is then!" I said
