Warnings: Gore, Blood
Pairings: Pit x Reader
"Pit, lookout!" You snapped your wings into action when you realized that Pit wouldn't be able to move away from the Underworld creature in time.
You got to the angel just in time to shove him out of the way. In doing so, you put yourself right in the path of the creature's large maw.
Pit flipped backwards through the air before he finally caught himself. The little angel shook his head side to side, hoping to get rid of the sudden dizziness that overtook him.
Pit's sapphire eyes widened as he heard the pained shriek of his best friend. He snapped his gaze to where the noise came from and a horrified gasp escaped from his lips.
One of your white wings was in the mouth of an Underworld creature three times your size. The beast's shadowy teeth bit down harshly into your feathered appendage, causing you to cry out as a sickening crunch was heard. Red mixed with white as your wings began to soak with blood.
The monster that was attacked looked to be made of shadow. It seemed almost smokey as the large talon-like fingers wrapped around your smaller frame. The beast sent a shark-like grin in Pit's direction as it pulled you from it's massive maw. Blazing red eyes rolled back in pleasure as a forked tongue slipped out to taste the angelic blood along your body.
You were limp in the creature's grasp; your beautiful eyes closed, just like you were sleeping.
"No!" Pit screamed, fury flooding his veins. He brandished his bow, before easily pulling it apart into two smaller swords. A harsh snarl lit the furious angel's lips as his gift of flight took him closer to the monster holding you. Pit lifted one blade up to bring it down upon the monster when a light voice stopped him.
"Pit. No." Lady Palutena's firm tone shocked the little angel, and she used her powers to stop his charge on the beast. Pit's heart ached terribly as he watched you shudder in your unconscious state from the pain as the claw held you tighter. "But..." He started. Lady Palutena cut him off before he could continue. "Grab her and I'll get you two out of here. If she doesn't get medical attention soon, she could..." Palutena didn't want to finish her sentence, and Pit didn't want to hear the rest of it anyway. The thought of you being gone made his stomach feel like lead.
Pit nodded, his blue eyes darkening with an emotion he thought only his darker half could feel as Palutena brought him close enough to the great beast that held you. With a quick feint attack, Pit was able to snatch you from the beast's claws and fly away quickly, before a great light enveloped both of you, taking you back to Skyworld.
The flash of light blinded the shadow monster, and when the light faded, the creature's red eyes widened at its prey being gone, before it let out a terrifying roar, swiping its claws at the air where the angels had last been.

Pit crashed into the ground, his arms still wrapped tightly around you. The little angel grunted in pain as his wings folded against his back forcefully, the cold tile beneath him pressed his wings against him harshly.
Swiftly sitting up, Pit looked down at you, his heart racing before he called out, "Lady Palutena!" He cried, tears gathering in the corners of his oceanic eyes as he gazed down at your wounded wing.
"Take her to the medical wing." The goddess ordered, looking at a nearby Centurion. The soldier saluted her and moved to grab you from Pit's grasp.
The little angel sent a watery glare towards the soldier, pulling you closer to his chest. The soldier's eyes widened beneath his golden helmet, and he took a step back from the upset warrior. "Pit." Palutena's voice was firm as she gazed down at her loyal servant with sadness swirling in her eyes.
The angel felt a tear crawl down his face as the Centurion gently plucked you from his grasp and disappeared around a corner with you. A hollow feeling settled in Pit's heart the moment you had been taken from him.
Pit sniffled softly, running his arm across his face, clearing away his tears. His small wings drooped in sadness and his normally bright eyes were dull with despair.
"Pit, go clean up. You can see her right after." Palutena's voice was soft as it reached Pit's ears. The angel nodded and looked down at his clothes.
His white chiton was stained red with blood. Your blood. Pit whimpered at the thought.

Now in a clean outfit, Pit sat at your bedside. Your right wing was completely covered in bandages, and you were still unconscious.
The doctor who had healed you to the best of his abilities had told Pit that you should wake up soon. The doctor also stated that it would be several months before you were fully healed. During that time, you were to remain grounded. Meaning you wouldn't be able to fly, else you would run the risk of losing your ability of free flight, and would have to rely on Palutena's magic of flight for the rest of your life.
As Pit listened to your rhythmic breathing, his eyes began to droop. The angel, exhausted from the whole ordeal, found himself falling asleep in the chair by your bed before he realized it.

"Pit."
"Pit, wake up."
The blue eyed angel stirred in his sleep, mumbling as he refused to wake up.
"Get up you silly angel!"
The voice held a familiar melodic laugh. One that made Pit's eyes snap open, his gaze shooting towards the bed.
Your twinkling eyes lit up when they locked onto his hopeful blue ones.
Pit gasped and scrambled over to you, taking no time to wrap you in a tight hug, something you gladly returned, despite your sore body.
"Don't ever do that again." Pit whimpered, tears running down his face. Your eyes softened, your grin disappeared. "I'm sorry, Pit. But I can't promise that. If I need to protect you, I will." You said, the feathers of your uninjured wing ruffling at the thought of Pit getting hurt. "But...why...?" Pit asked, pulling away from you, but still unwilling to let you go.
Your enchanting eyes captured his attention even now, as you avoided his gaze, casting your own to the side. "It's because..." You started, your cheeks flushing red. "Because...?" Pit prompted, his heart fluttering in his chest as he leaned his face closer to yours, desperately hoping for certain words he dreamed of to fall from your lips.
"It's because I..." You took in a deep breath, shyly looking up at his hopeful eyes.
"I love you."
The words escaped his lips before he could stop them. Not that he wanted to. Your eyes widened, your supple lips dropping into an 'o' as shock settled in your bones. The shock disappeared soon after, and just as Pit had started to lose hope, you dove forward, connecting your lips with his.
Pure bliss shot through both of you as you kissed. Pit lost himself in the kiss, the taste of your lips reminding him of a sweet dessert. But the taste of them was better than any cake he could ever find.
The two of you pulled away seconds later, smiles lighting up your faces.
"I love you too." You said, out of breath. Pit grinned, his wings flapping wildly in happiness as he hugged you tightly. His heart sang as you laughed happily, hugging him back.
