they were all in the car now, driving to niall's house. she was sort of becoming more comfortable with them. she always liked making friends, as she didn't have many. her best friend (and biggest enemy) was alex. though they teased each other a lot, she loved him more than anything.

they all laughed and joked around until they made it to niall's house. jake brought all of their stuff upstairs, and alex went with him, with a small wink.

so it was just the two of them.

how convenient.

"so, june. how was your flight?" niall tried to make small talk. it was strange, you never noticed how much more comfortable a group of people were compared to just a one on one conversation until the group left.

"it was okay. landing was pretty scary. it made my stomach turn." june replied, twirling her brown hair with her finger. niall smiled at her response.

she liked his smile.

"yeah, you'll get used to that with time and experience." he said, turning to see alex coming back down the stairs for june's luggage.

"don't molest my sister now, you fucking furry." alex said, to be met with niall flipping him off.

alex took june's luggage, dragging it up the stairs. the wheel that was twisting and turning constantly actually ended up snapping off, making both june and niall laugh.

the girl grabbed the wheel, snapping it back onto her suitcase, which was dark purple.

he took the luggage upstairs, and she went back to niall.

"so, niall, what is there to do like... anywhere here? everything sort of looks the same." june mumbled the last part, though niall heard it, a soft chuckle escaping his lips.

"you're right, everything does look the same here. but there's a bunch of shops, and festivals happen around a lot. there's this really nice place, by a bridge down the street." he pointed to the left, to down the street.

"—if anything, you could always jump off of the bridge." the blonde joked, and june listened with eyebrows raised.

then, she rolled her eyes at the last sentence. "gotcha. i'll have to do some exploring." she replied.

"i'll go with you, so you don't get like— lost." niall jumped in, talking quickly.

"i think i can handle myself. i'm a big girl, and there's this magic thing, called a gps." june said, shaking her head and beginning to walk up the stairs into niall's flat.

🥀

niall's flat was really cozy looking. in june's opinion, a house was only cozy when someone's been living in it for awhile. she was met with jake in the living room, on his phone. she greeted him, sitting next to him.

"hey. whatcha doin'?" june asked, crossing her legs.

"just kinda, scrolling through twitter. looking for things to give will for video ideas." jake explained, and she nodded.

june wasn't new to being around the atmosphere of youtubers, nor was she foreign to the site herself. she liked watching videos. she tried to make her own channel once, but she quit halfway through, because she didn't want to be known for 'alex's little sister.'

"can i help?" june asked, and jake nodded. so she went on twitter herself, and they both came up with video ideas for will. jake pulled out his camera.

"smile." he said before taking the photo and sending it to will.

"there."

🥀

june had her own room. it was very small, but, she was confident.

she'd make it work.

so june spent the rest of the day moving shit around, and constantly calling niall with the question "do you want this?" for a specific object she was about to throw in the trash.

she finished it just when the night arrived, and even decorated and unpacked her brother's things while he was out with the boys.

it looked great, and she was really proud.

she then remembered what niall told her.

"there's this really nice place, by the bridge down the street."

so she got herself ready, dressing in some black skinny jeans with a white, red, and green sweater. festive. she put her hair in a bun, too lazy to actually do anything with it.

she brought her camera, hopeful that the place he told her about would be at least quality enough for photos that she could post on her instagram.

she walked down the street, where niall pointed. she continued walking, listening to some random music she'd downloaded on youtube music.

june finally made it to the small place niall was talking about. it was a flat area, a full at the end. it went down to water, where kids were playing and being watched closely by their parents.

she smiled to herself, and got to work. she took pictures of the sky, which was a dazzling pink and orange, melted together like crayons under a hairdryer. took some of the scenery on the other side, the street that was all lit up.

then, she noticed something.

a blonde, sitting on a bench, by his lonesome.

she was met with bright green eyes.

"niall?" june quickly went over to him. he seemed surprised to see her.

"oh, hey, june. what're you doing here?" he asked, furrowing his eyebrows.

"i told you i was doing some exploring. i thought you were out with the boys?" she smiled, sitting down next to him, camera still clutched in her hands. he noticed it.

"i decided not to go. i don't want you to see me drunk out of my mind just yet." he paused for a few moments. "alex always told me you were a photographer, but i haven't ever looked at your pictures before." niall admitted. she went to her gallery in the camera, showing him the first few pictures, the ones she just took.

"damn, they're... amazing." the boy mumbled as she finished showing him.

june smiled at him once again. "thanks. i've been doing this for a long time now. it's... a big passion of mine."

"well, it's a good one." niall replied. they stayed in a comfortable silence for a few moments. "hey, why don't we get back... home. it's cold, and it's going to get really dark really soon." he stood, helping the girl up. she thanked him, and they began to walk.

another silence went over them, making june chew on her lip absentmindedly as they walked. niall ran his fingers through his hair repeatedly.

neither of them knew exactly what to say.

they made it home, and june started to her room, but niall stopped her.

"hey, june."

she turned to meet his eyes.

"goodnight." he said, looking like he was going to say something, but didn't. she pretended not to notice, though, smiling a bit.

"goodnight niall." she said, and then went to her room, falling asleep as soon as she hit the bed.
