Towers were scrambling in a panic as they tried to get together a defense. They had been so care free that they had failed to keep ready. Maid Commander was in despair. Out of all the times Commander wasn't here, it had to be this time!
The rangers and snipers were playing cards in one of the watch towers when one of them spotted it; Frost Spirit. The ice titan was a some miles away, but special equipment let them see a bit far out to prepare.
As soon as the cliff tower spotted the giant snow turkey, they went crazy on the emergency button. There was barely any towers ready and most of the camp was in a state of chaos from slacking off for a whole week. Maid would need to address this huge issue if they didn't die first.
"Just find something, damnit! We'll be turned to ice!" Maid screamed as she ordered around confused towers. "This is hopeless! We're going to die!" Maid cried out.
Maid quickly pulled down her skirt as a gust of wind began to blow through the camp. It was Frost Spirit, he was right above the camp. Despite being assaulted with a couple rounds from some towers, he wasn't attacking. Instead, he was trying to gently land.
At seeing his landing spot was clear, Frost Spirit gently lowered himself down, his wings beating up to keep himself study. It would be seen as quite graceful if it wasn't for the panic around.
Rounds of gun fire were still fired at him, but a familiar, pissed off voice had them go silent. "Quit shooting! I'm here!" Medic screamed out as she crawled out of Frost Spirit's fur collar.
Frost Spirit gently put Medic down then the fourwheeler with the speedy still attached to it. "Medic! What is going on? Please don't tell me you plan on keeping it," Maid had a hint of worry in her voice when asking that last bit.
Medic snorted and scratched the back of her head, "Well, not really. You might want to gather everyone so I can tell them some big news. We gotta hurry though." Maid looked at Medic in confusion but called on her walkie talkie for the commanders to round up every tower.
"What about... it?" Maid pointed up at Frost Spirit. "Oh yeah, he was my flight home. Also, that's one thing I was going to talk about. He's staying here for now. They all are," Medic gave Maid a warm smile. Maid sputtered out, "They.. 'a-all' are? What do you mean?"
Scout looked up, his jaw wide open in shock at seeing the Fallen King right in front of him, docile. Fallen King took no notice of him until he happened to glance over, his bright blue eyes locking onto the puny tower.
That didn't settle well with Scout as he hurried away, afraid that Fallen King would squish him. "Look at that, they run away from your ugliness just like I do," Molten Boss stepped over, mocking the bigger titan. "You look like an orange bird dropping," Fallen King insulted back, making the fire titan boil in rage.
"Keep calm with one another. I was afraid that we might pick fights with the towers but now I have to worry about my own kind scrapping with one another," Void Reaver came over, making the two quirlling titans quiet down.
Fallen Swordmaster was staring at Ranger, who was on the watch tower and ready to start shooting titans. He squinted his eyes at him, "I don't like this one. It's staring at me weird."
"Well, maybe if you stopped staring back at it, it wouldn't be so bad," Void Reaver assured Swordmaster. Ranger scoffed, they were talking about him as if he were some kind of animal. They were the animals!
Frost Spirit was craning his neck, trying to find something, or someone. He'd sometimes flap his wings, almost as if ready to take off in search. He was getting some stares, especially from those who would get a bit blown away when he would flap his wings.
Void Reaver took notice and walked over, placing a hand on Frost Spirit's shoulder, making him jump. "What are you looking for?" Void Reaver asked. Frost Spirit looked around a bit more before telling, "Lord Sinister hasn't returned yet. I am worried."
Looking around, Void Reaver couldn't find the pumpkin titan anywhere too. This was bad, Sinister usually liked to get his work done quickly and try to be the first to arrive. "I'm going to look for him," Frost Spirit tried to take off, but was pulled back to the ground.
"It's dangerous, especially for you. I believe whoever was behind Gravedigger's death doesn't have bad aim," Void Reaver casted his concern. He consoled the downcasted ice titan, "I'm sure he's fine. He's probably terrorizing a village."
Frost Spirit looked up, then perked as he spotted something in the distance. Then, his expression turned to a look of horror. He rushed out of Void Reaver's grasp and took off, staying low to the ground as he sped over to no other than Lord Sinister.
However, he wasn't unscathed. He was limping and parts of his armor were gone. He was holding where his left arm should of been and what armor he did have on were riddled with deep scratches and stabs. A long, new scar ran from the bottom left to his mouth all the way up to his right eye and beyond.
Lord Sinister was lucky enough to keep his crown, but his axe was no where to be seen. Frost Spirit hurried to him and caught him before he could fall. "Sinister! Sinister, what happened? Come on, we've got to get you to Swordmaster!" Frost Spirit encouraged Sinsiter to move forward, but it was a struggle as he just seemed to be losing more and more energy.
Commander rushed out of the building he was in after getting word that Sinister was here, but was injured. He eyes went huge behind his sunglasses. Never had he seen a titan look so beaten before. Not even Gravedigger was this bad. Whatever got to him clearly had the intent to kill.
He was tempted to scream for medics, but what could they do? They were just towers. He watched as the other titans began to grow uneasy and antsy, characteristics he had never seen from them before. Whatever was happening was not going to be good for the towers.
Void Reaver and Swordmaster helped Sinister the rest of the way into the camp. "Lay him down," Swordmaster ordered. They gently got Sinister to the ground, the injured titan groaning in pain.
"What happened to your axe?" Swordmaster was quick to ask. "Swordmaster, I don't think that is a question that needs to be asked right now," Void Reaver advised, but he was shushed by a hard glare.
Sinister cough and answered, "I was.. attacked. Another pumpkin titan.. orange." He motioned his hand across his face then tried to continue on, "He.. took it. Used it against me. Barely escaped."
Swordmaster gave Void Reaver a snarky look, "Gotta ask the right questions to certain titans or they won't tell you anything!" Medic, who had only come out moments before, overheard the comment and took note on it. That could be some helpful advice.
Sinister groaned and looked over at where his missing arm should be. "He isn't mortally wounded, he'll be fine. He just had his ass kicked that is for sure," Molten Boss spoke up after studying Sinister for himself.
Medic jumped and started speaking her mind, "I know you titans don't care for one another that much, but I think a missing arm is a serious life threatening wound! He needs to be treated now!" Titans turned their attention to her, all of them giving her a confused and cringe worthy look.
Molten Boss began to get angry and crouched down, heat coming off of him. "You think we don't care? Is that how you see us? He's a fire titan, like me. It'll grow back. Maybe if you weren't so stupid, you would know something other than how weak and stupid you towers are!"
"That's enough," Void Reaver growled, getting angry at him. Molten Boss turned and straightened back up, surprised at being snapped at. "She did not know, she was worried. She cares just as much as the rest of us," Void Reaver growled at Molten Boss, who bowed his head and said nothing.
"Our size is not needed here. We shall go to a more accommodating size while we are here. It will also protect us from being spotted more easily," Void Reaver ordered. Nuclear Fallen King tried to object, "But we are more vulnerable in such a state! What if the towers turn on us?"
Titans around agreed, but Commander began to assure them, "As long as you here, you will be treated like guests. Any tower that tries to do anything will be punished. That is, if there's anything left after I let you have at them." Towers that were listening in clenched up after hearing that. The last thing they wanted was to be burnt to a crisp by Molten Boss.
The titans were uneasy, but after seeing Void Reaver shrink down they began to do the same one by one. Swordmaster had to encourage Sinister to do the same despite it probably go to hurt like a bitch. Sinister found the stength and did the same, hollowing in pain as he did so.
Swordmaster was the last one to do it after Sinister. The titans were still much taller than the towers, but they were able to enter buildings now. A team of medics rushed over to Sinister with the largest stretcher they had. Even then, he wouldn't fit all the way.
Frost Spirit tried to follow, but was stopped by Swordmaster, "All he needs is rest. It's best to leave him alone." Frost Spirit sadly watched as those poor medics struggled to cart him away to the medical ward.
"That was eventful. So what do we do now?" Molten Boss asked. Void Reaver and Swordmaster looked at one another, giving each other a faint idea of what was needed.
"Swordmaster will need to update your weapons. It's clear their weapons outmatch ours," Void Reaver declared as he handed his own sword over, which Swordmaster graciously took. "What if something happens while we don't have them?" Molten Boss gave his concern, keeping his scythe close.
Void Reaver hummed and thought. He then turned to Commander and approached him. He crouched down a bit so he wasn't straining his neck looking down, "Would you be willing to teach us the things you use?"
Commander felt his heart stop. They wanted to fight like towers? It was an honor! Frost Spirit hissed, "I'd rather not!" Void Reaver turned around with a growl, being a bit aggressive, "If you can get your asses beat by these seemingly pitiful creatures, then you can live with learning from them!"
Commander didn't know if he should feel complimented or insulted. "If I may, I would like to put them with towers I think they would do great with," Commander asked. Void Reaver nodded and allowed him to do so despite the grumbles behind him.
"So, I will put Raider with the rangers! Then I'll have the Nuclear King with Toxic Gunner and the minigunners," he took out a notepad and pen from seemingly no where as he scribbled down his own placements. The two titans called didn't seem all that upset about the placement so that was a good start.
They walked over and handed their weapons to Swordmaster, who was making Void Reaver hold them so he wasn't swamped. "I will have Fallen King with the minigunners as well and Molten Boss.." Commander gave it a thought before deciding, "He will be with the demomen!"
"What!? Why couldn't I of gotten something cool like him," Molten Boss pointed at Fallen King, who was happy with the pick. "Maybe because you blow up at everyone and everything?" Fallen King suggested. He hurried off and handed his sword over then followed after Nuclear King.
Molten Boss grumbled and handed in his scythe with a bit of attitude. Commander looked at who was left. Frost Spirit wasn't looking that excited. Commander was surprised there wasn't as many titans as he had seen over the years. They have fought titans such as Krampus and Jack-o-Bot before, but he's never seen them after their defeat.
Commander was struggling on where to put him, but he turned around as he heard someone cough into their hand. It was Engineer, who was accompanied by some ace pilots. Not just any ace pilots, they were skilled and would fly the advanced, and quite expensive, jets.
"If we could request, we would like to take the Frost Spirit! It's best to put those wings to use afterall," Engineer asked. Commander thought on it and did agree that it would be a waste to keep the flying titan on ground. "Alright, then Frost Spirit will be with you," he wrote down.
Frost Spirit ruffled his feathers. He began to regret ever picking up those two towers in the grave yard. "Come on, let's go! We want to show you around!" Engineer tried to coxe him over, but he was being stubborn.
"He seems to be a bit shy right now. The recent incident must have him on edge," Void Reaver told Engineer, talking about Frost Spirit as if he was a child. "I still need that scythe though," Swordmaster reminded them.
Frost Spirit reluctantly stepped over and handed his scythe over, but was refusing to go with Engineer. "You want to go with me then, stupid bird?" Swordmaster threatened. That got Frost Spirit moving.
"I assume both of you will be absent?" Commander turned to the two void titans. Void Reaver huffed and looked over at Swordmaster, who was holding the two scythes. "I will only help him drop these off. Other then that, there is no need for me to stay by his side while he works," a hint of grief was in his voice.
Swordmaster looked back at the other, his own expression softening. Commander started to suspect something, but let it go as they broke eye contact. "I wish you the best of luck with them. May whoever the hell is running this planet protect this camp," Swordmaster gave his prayers.
With that, Void Reaver opened a portal and the two titans left. Commander watched in awe until nothing of the portal was left. He turned his head to where Sinister had come from. Whoever attacked him was defiantely working for whoever attacked Gravedigger.
Something in him told him not to, but he had to send some towers out. He couldn't just go into war blind. As he was thinking, someone sneaked behind him and pushed at his back and went 'boo!', causing Commander to jump and turn around, ready to flee.
It was Scout, who snickered at how Commander got scared. Commander calmed down and pushed away his anger. "What are you doing other then trying to give me a heart attack?" Commander asked with a bit of an upbeat tone.
"Uh, I know you're super busy right now, but I was wondering if you could teach me how to use the new pistols you got for the commanders? You promised to a while back," Scout asked, nervous and hopeful. He wasn't wrong, Commander was busy. However, he did promise and he had been pushing back on Scout.
Scout began to plee again after seeing that look Commander give, "I could change all the targets after! Like, all of them! Even the ones the rangers use!" Commander stared at him and couldn't help but let out a chuckle.
"Alright, you win. Don't touch the ranger targets though, they are high up and the last time you tried to do it you broke your arm," Commander reminded him as he wrapped his arm around him and gave him a pat on the shoulder. "Yeah, but the cast was a cool green! You even signed it!" Scout reminded back.
"Just because I signed it doesn't mean I want you to break a limb again!" Commander and Scout chuckled and laughed as they walked side by side to the armory. Today was a long day, and most people wouldn't want to hang out with Scout.
Commander, however, quite enjoyed his high energy. Scout was a good kid, perhaps he could send him on the scouting mission.
