mina, sero, and kirishima plop down on the couch next to you that evening. before you could question the whereabouts of the two blondes that usually accompanied them, you could hear bakugo and kaminari yelling from the kitchen.

"what are they up to?" you ask, and sero shakes his head.

"something about udon? it looks like a war scene in there, i am definitely not going to clean it up." mina settles into the couch, picking up a pillow and placing it on her lap. "what are you watching?"

"a horror movie," you grin at the repulsion on kirishima's face.

"of all things," the redhead sighs and sits on mina's other side, sero taking a seat next to him.

the four of you watch the remainder of the movie together. there's only fifteen minutes left, but kirishima manages to get freaked out enough that he punches sero out of reflex when the dark haired boy accidentally brushes his arm.

sero groans, falling back on the coach, and kirishima looks guilty. "did you have to harden your fist before you punched me too?" he grumbles.

"okay, let's not watch horror anymore." you decide to shut off the tv and turn to face your friends. "so, what's up with you guys recently?"

"what's up with you?" sero deflects the question back at you.

"what do you mean?" your words come out in a rush, and your eyes dart from sero to the pink haired girl sitting next to him.

"well, have you thought about what happened yesterday?" mina asks.

"no? yes? he had to be joking, it wasn't worth thinking about really," you smile brightly, dismissing the topic.

"why would he be joking?" sero looks puzzled. "it doesn't get more straightforward than that."

"because katsuki can't like me," you explain. what weren't these two getting about this?

"y/n, why don't you believe he could like you?" kirishima looks concerned.

"because i'm not good enough." your response comes easily, and sero looks even more confused at your unperturbed expression as you say this.

"not good enough how?" kirishima asks slowly.

"i'm lazy, kind of unmotivated at times, i don't really work for the things i get, and i'm not even good at combat." your frustrations spill out with the urging of your friends, and the sudden tingling in your eyes and nose cause you to sniffle.

you laugh as your eyes begin to water, swiping at your nose. "i mean, i can't even beat todoroki in a mock battle, how could i ever be good enough for the guy who defeated him? how could he be anything but disappointed in me?"

mina gets up to grab the box of tissues on the table, and sero lets you lean on his shoulder, patting your arm in a motion of comfort. "you're too hard on yourself, you know that?" he frowns.

"i deserve it." you blubber through your tears. the embarrassment at crying and the shame of having told your friends what was bugging you made the tears fall faster, and kirishima crouches in front of you to grab your hands.

"today i fought todoroki in a sparring match with no quirks. he won easily, but would you tell me that i'm not good enough to be friends with bakugo because i lost to todoroki?" he asks you, red eyes staring you down.

you shake your head, and mina grabs your other hand. "if you wouldn't say it to kirishima, then you shouldn't say it to yourself. if you don't treat yourself like the queen you are, how do you expect anyone else to?"

before you can protest that it's not that easy, sero flashes a warm smile at you. "hey, you don't have to do it alone, that's what friends are for."

"yeah," kirishima grins. "we can be your cheerleaders."

"oh my god we have to make a routine!" mina high fives kirishima, and a laugh bubbles out of your chest.

you apologize to sero for the small patch of tears on his shoulder, and he waves a hand dismissively. "don't worry about it."

"but what you should be worrying about-" mina begins teasingly.

"-is your upcoming confession!" kirishima finishes her sentence with matching excitement.

you smile. "we don't know if that will happen soon."

if katsuki would confess to liking you.

holy shit, your best friend likes you! processing what happened an entire day later, your smile drops and your mouth hangs open.

"holy shit," you breathe out, and sero smiles.

"guys i think it finally hit her." he says, and you barely register the squeals erupting from mina and kirishima.

your best friend likes you, and you're not mad about it... a small smile makes it's way to your face without you noticing it ever did.

"i have to do it first." you declare suddenly.

"do what?" kirishima asks.

"confess, duh!" mina is bouncing off the walls with excitement.

"everything is a competition with you two, isn't it?" sero shakes his head, but he's grinning as madly as the three of you are.

"you'll still help me, wont you bestie?" you bat your eyelashes at him.

"leave it to us!" kirishima plops himself in the gap between you and sero, placing an arm around the two of you. mina joins the group hug as well, diving onto your lap. the impact knocks the couch over, and katsuki and kaminari walk in to see the four of you in a dog pile of giggles.

"um, udon?" kaminari offers the bowls he and the other blonde were carrying.
