Chapter 17:

Andy's Point of View:

"Get up, get up!"

The curtains were opened and light streamed onto my face.

"Damn it Ashley," I said as I buried my face in the pillow. "Don't I even get a day to sleep in?"

"Not while I'm around!" he exclaimed. "As long as you're awake, I don't care if you stay there all day! As long as I have someone to talk to, I'll be fine!"

"You seem rather hyped up this morning," I said as I turned my head to the side a bit to look at him.

He was standing over the other side of my room, hands on hips and studying a poster I had on my wall.

"What're you now? A critic?"

"Hell Ando, I've always been a critic!" he exclaimed, still studying the poster. He tilted his head to the side as he thought. "I want one of these for my room. That's what'd make it complete..."

"Why're you so happy this morning?" I asked, watching him as he moved around and looked at another poster on my wall.

"One word Ando: coffee."

"You didn't."

Ashley looked at me and grinned. "I did!!"

I rolled my eyes and groaned, burying my face in my pillow once more. I was planning on sleeping in today, but with Ashley around, I should've expected to get no sleep whatsoever. Especially since he'd had coffee this morning.

The others had warned me about what happened when Ashley had coffee, especially first thing in the morning. He just went all day, non-stop, and now I was gonna have to put up with it. All. Damn. Day.

Ashley moved away from the poster he was looking at and sat down on the chair at my desk. I watched as he spun himself around in the chair. He seemed to like doing that for some reason.

"Don't make yourself sick man," I said, not liking the idea of what would happen if he did.

"I won't!"

I rolled my eyes again. Ashley stopped spinning the chair and started up my computer.

"The hell you think you're doin'?" I asked with slight horror, watching as he tried over and over to get my password correct.

"Gonna surf the net, find me somethin' to do!" he exclaimed, once again getting my password wrong.

I painfully sat up and got out of bed, pushing the chair and Ashley outta the way so I could get to my computer.

"Christ sake Ashley," I said as he grinned at me. "You'll lock me out if you keep getting the password wrong."

"You could just tell me the password and we wouldn't have that problem," Ashley said, that smile still there.

"Uh-uh, no way man," I said with a shake of my head as I typed in my password and it logged me on. "I'm not telling you that. You'd access all my files and everything without question."

"Then why're you logging me on now?" Ashley asked from where he was sitting on the chair where I'd pushed it. "I could easily do that when you leave the room; I could even do it now!"

I looked at him seriously.

"You so much as access anything but the internet, I'm shutting it down and that'll be it for you, got it?"

Ashley gave me an innocent smile and nodded. I pushed him and the chair back to my desk, wincing in pain as I did so. I sat down on the edge of my bed, trying to ignore the pain.

"Why's Batman your background?" Ashley asked suddenly, studying the picture I had set for the background as he swung his legs back and forth like a little child.

"'Cause Batman's awesome," I said, looking at him. "Case settled."

Ashley shook his head. "Superman's better."

"Nu-uh, don't you start," I said with a shake of my head. "We all know Batman could easily take out Superman."

"Does Batman even have any powers?" Ashley asked, clearly wanting to win this battle. "'Cause I don't recall any."

I looked at him; unamused.

"It doesn't matter if he has any powers or not, Batman is clearly the superior one."

Ashley shook his head and crossed his arms. "Nu-uh! Superman could easily kick his ass in a fight."

"Really?" I stated, crossing my arms as well. "I doubt that."

"Oh yeah? You wanna bet?" Ashley challenged.

"Yeah actually; this time I wanna bet."

Ashley grinned. "Ok then. Ten bucks says the majority of our group will think Superman will win."

"Twenty."

"Twenty-five."

"Fifty," I said, Ashley smirking at me.

"Sixty-five and we have a deal," he said.

"Alright, sixty-five," I said. We shook hands on the bet. "Deal."

Ashley laughed and turned his attention back to my computer. I laid back down and stared at the ceiling for a bit.

"So how're we feeling today bro?" Ashley asked, keeping his eyes on the computer screen in front of him.

I looked over, but couldn't see what he was looking at.

"Yeah, not too great honestly," I said. "Could be a fuck load better."

Ashley shrugged and smiled. "Ok, true that."

"Whatcha smiling 'bout?" I asked suspiciously. "You'd better be using my internet for good."

"I only use the internet for evil!" he exclaimed.

We both laughed and I winced in pain again. Goddamn, everything I did made me hurt. The phone rang from downstairs and I sighed. As I was getting up, Ashley had already jumped up from the chair and rushed outta the room. I heard him run downstairs, and a few seconds later, the phone stopped ringing.

"Hello?"

Oh God, Ashley'd answered the home phone. I made my way outta my room as quick as I could, trying to get down the stairs before Ashley said something stupid.

"No sorry, he's not available right now. His son is though if you wanna talk to him? He's comin' down the stairs as we speak!"

I reached the end of the stairs and Ashley smiled at me.

"Yeah he's here. Give 'im a sec and he'll be right with you!"

He held the phone out for me as I made my way over.

"C'mon Andy! Don't keep 'im waiting!"

I shot him a glare and took the phone from him, leaning against the wall as I answered.

"Hello?"

"Andy? Hello, I was just wondering when your next appointment is going to be, as your father didn't make another when you were here on Saturday."

I groaned. It was my therapist.

"I dunno when he wants to make the appointment for," I said, frowning as I watched Ashley walk around, his destination most likely not figured out yet. "You'd have to call him or mom, but they're both at work at the moment."

"Ok, well do you have a contact number for them so I can speak to them?"

"Uh, hang on." I looked over to Ashley. "Hey!"

Ashley stopped in his tracks and looked at me.

"Huh? Mmm?"

"Do me a favour?"

Ashley smiled and nodded. He really looked like he needed to go for a run or something; get rid of all that energy. Uh, I was gonna be stuck with this all day.

"Go grab my phone for me?"

Ashley nodded and practically ran up the stairs, breaking his previous record of how fast he could get to the top. A few seconds later, he came back down, appearing in front of me and making me jump, as I'd been looking somewhere else.

"Sorry, I just had to get my phone," I said to the therapist who was still on the other end.

"That's fine. Just whenever you can, let me know a contact number."

I searched through my contacts and found dad's number. I read it out to the therapist and also gave him mom's number as well, just in case he couldn't get a hold of dad.

"Alright, thank you Andy. I'll talk to you soon."

"Yeah, bye."

I hung up and looked to Ashley who was now sitting on the stairs, playing on his phone. It looked intense. He looked up as I came over.

"You really gotta get rid of that energy," I said.

Ashley shook his head in denial and dashed back up the stairs and outta sight. I sighed and followed, but nowhere near the pace he'd rushed up. I found him once again at my computer, looking up pictures of a band or something. I sat down on the edge of my bed again.

"You gonna sit there all day and use up all the internet?" I asked.

"'Til we do somethin' else, hell to the yeah I am!"

I rolled my eyes and laid down. "Y'know I can't really do anything today Ash."

"Then say goodbye to all your internet!!"

I laughed painfully. "Ok, ok. We'll do something in a while. Let me sleep a bit more and we'll talk later."

"Nu-uh," Ashley said with a shake of his head, still looking at the computer screen. "Nobody sleeps while I'm around and all hyped up on caffeine."

"Ok then, whatcha wanna do?" I asked, really just wanting to relax and sleep.

"Uh, um, ah, huh, mmm, gee, gosh, I dunno!"

I couldn't help but laugh. He was rather entertaining when he wasn't dashing around. Ashley looked to me in sudden realisation.

"Oh my God!" he exclaimed. "We're so having a movie marathon! Gimme a bit and I shall return with things to snack on!"

He shut down everything on my computer, leaving it on as he dashed outta my room. A few seconds later, I heard the front door shut. I sighed to myself and sat up, going to shut my computer down.

Ashley had changed my background to Superman.

A/N:

Gosh, I just love Ashley so much; he's by far my favourite character and the best character I've ever written.

Who's your favourite character?
