Reader's POV
The draft in my room had woken me up. I shivered severely and struggled to put on warmer clothes. After grudgingly getting ready to exit my room, I began to walk down the flights of stairs in a groggy mood. I checked the fridge and sighed in relief as I noticed that finally, Slender saw up to filling it with more edible foods for humans.
My hand grabbed some mysterious pancake batter and stirred it a bit more before pouring some of it on a pan. I grumbled as the pancake failed to take the shape of a perfect and neat circle or anything at all. As the formless blob of wheat plopped onto my plate, I snatched one of those energy bars from Tim.
After enjoying my breakfast even tho the pancake failed, I cleaned up and walked out of the kitchen refreshed. Finally, I was in a decent and happy mood. It soon disappeared very quickly as my ears were met with the harsh voice of Snow White himself. "Hey, Miss Happy. Sorry to put a damper on your day but we have the training to do. Better hope I don't 'accidentally' kill you." He grinned wider than usual and walked outside. That refreshing feeling dropped very quickly and I was no longer "Miss Happy" anymore.
I followed the criminal to a field a mile away from the mansion. He was always one step ahead of me since I wasn't really used to walking and hiking a whole bunch. The field he took me too was actually sorta pretty. It grew into a meadow farther along. The open area had a single tree somewhere in the middle that had a bunch of scars and scrapes in the trunk. It must've been used to practice aiming. It was a slightly windy day. Being outside refreshed me.
The first lesson was to shoot a gun. Jeff grew more frustrated as I missed each shot. I was beginning to get worried might lose it. My last shot hit the killer's pants and they fell down. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry." my lips managed to mutter between laughs. The killer sauntered up to me angrily and roughly grabbed the gun out of my hands. "You won't be laughing when I do this!" he put me in a headlock and it was his turn to laugh. Getting worried, I tried to shove him off of me. He gave one last dark chuckle before letting go. I gave him a slightly scared look. As soon as that moment passed, I closed my eyes for a moment to take in the breeze lifting my hair up and letting it fall.
Hearing a loud thump, I cracked my eyes open to see a knife had landed in the tree. I turned my head to Jeff to see he had put it there. "How about you give it a try," he suggested and I shrugged and tried to pull the large kitchen knife out but unfortunately Jeff threw harder than I had expected. I heard his quiet chuckle before finally getting it out, sending me tumbling over on my ass. I looked over to him with a glare as amusement filled his face. Getting up I gripped the knife with both hands and prepared myself to throw. "Wait!" I heard the killer shout. He walked over to me and got behind me. Grabbing my arms, he proceeded to put them in a certain throwing position. He didn't notice his physical presence was slightly overlapping my comfort zone. I tried not to focus on that and focused on what he was saying. "You've got to position them like this to get more accurate results," Jeff said in an informative tone. I nodded with my face heated up a bit and he stepped back. Breathing in relief, I threw and sure enough, I missed. "Heh, not surprised" he grunted. My eye twitched in irritation. "Try focusing harder on the exact spot of where you want to hit." He suggested. I nodded my head. Now he was actually being serious and trying to teach me.
I strained my eyes on the exact spot I wanted to hit. Hearing a chuckle my focus faltered. "Try to relax a little too," Jeff said with amusement in his voice. I tried really hard to follow what he said. Throwing the knife, I missed yet again. "Hmm try it again...." said Jeff, not impressed at all. I could see the resentment on his face. I once again, threw the knife and it was just as I thought, it whizzed past it.
Fear built up in my mind. What if Jeff got a little too angry. Jeff lowered his head so his hair hung down. Daring to look at his face, my eyes caught a glimmer of disappointment in his eyes. The small reminiscent of guilt built up inside me. It was like I felt the need to make him impressed. I watched as the disappointment turned into anger. He lifted his head up for me to see a very gloomy look on his face. His eyes were cloudy and he wasn't smiling at all. The killer refused to look at me as if I disgusted him so much. I got the feeling I should not be there. "C'mon," he grumbled, "let's get to the mansion....."
Jeff walked ahead of me and it was hard to keep up with his pace. It was almost as if he was trying to ditch me. Eventually, his legs picked up to a run. Struggling to reach him, I called out for him to slow down. I guess he didn't hear me because, by the time I had opened my mouth, he had disappeared completely. My voice came out as a growl. That bastard left me stranded out here and it was windy and cold. Sighing, I continued to walk in the direction he had gone. I tilted my head up to the sky and frowned as I saw it was cloudy, boring, and gray.
By the time I got to the large residence, my arms and legs were swollen and red from the sharp, biting wind. It hurt as I stepped inside and moved my legs. BEN glanced at me as I walked in. "Oh, (Y/N) there you are. We all were wondering where you went." He chuckled, "Slender was about to send out a search party to find you. He thought you were trying to escape."
My head tilted downwards a bit as my hair fell over my face. Escape.......I wanted to so bad. I wanted to see my friends' smiling faces again. I wanted to be able to laugh with them again at weird, but hilarious shit. And I wanted more than ever to run into my mother's warm embrace and feel her hands rub my head. I wanted to hear her soothing voice telling me it would be alright.

"Hey," BEN's voice interrupted my thoughts, "are you alright?" I grumbled. "Where is Jeff?" He stiffened, "Oh him? I saw him come in here and walk straight to his room. The look on his face was chilling though. I don't advise visiting him at this time." I nodded, agreeing. Maybe I would talk to him in the morning.
Since I had missed dinner, I went to grab some random food from the refrigerator. Eating the colorless and tasteless muck, I saw Laughing Jack walk over to me. I was surprised due to the fact that the clown barely ever came out of his room, except to capture poor unlucky souls. He took one look at what I was eating and snickered. Typical of him. "Looks pretty lame, kiddo." I nodded hopelessly. After a moment, he spoke up "So, how'd it go?" I shot him a confused glance. He sighed and explained in a matter-of-fact tone, "The training, duh!" My mouth opened to answer, but he was looking at me up and down. "Just what the fuck do you think you doing?!" I asked, slightly panicked. I heard his famous laugh and then he answered, "Relax, kid. I wasn't checking you out." I sighed in relief. "You're definitely not my type," he muttered. I rolled my eyes. "Welp, you don't have any scratches or marks of any kind." the clown said, "I'm surprised he didn't hurt you." He chuckled. I propped my head up on my arms, "Yeah, well he was damn near close...." I grumbled. He scrunched up my hair and messed it up, "Hey, it's ok. If he even harms one hair on your head, I'll chain him to a wall and use a chainsaw to cut him up head to toe." I chuckled, "Hopefully it won't come to that." LJ gave me a friendly wink and set it down a bag of different kinds of candy, "Oh and here's a little gift to make up for....whatever that crap was.." He glanced at it one more time. The bag (which had a bit of blood on the outside from LJ's claws) mostly consisted of chocolates, since I had previously mentioned to him I loved the stuff. (Who doesn't?). My lips formed a smile as I looked up to thank him but he was gone.
My legs carried me to my bedroom door, but I couldn't help glance at Jeff's door. It had dried blood crusted all over it and I mentally shuddered. An idea popped into my head. I went into my bedroom for a bit and came out with half of the candies missing. I stuffed the rest in my pocket and set the bag of candies at his door. My arm hesitated to knock on the door. I wasn't sure if I should do this. Sighing, I gathered up the courage to knock. As my fist hit the wood, I felt my heartbeat quicken. I ran out of there and into my room as fast as my legs would take me. I hoped he would answer the door. I didn't want him to be in a bad mood the next day. The least I could do was give him something tasty to eat.
Jeff's POV
Sitting on my bed, I stared out my bedroom window at the gray sky. Why couldn't that bitch just cooperate and do something right? I growled and began sharpening my knives. Every time I gave her simple instructions, she messed up. I don't know what the hell that giant faceless octopus was thinking, assigning me to train her, even though she can't do shit. I don't even know why Slender took in the brat in in the first place. She's too innocent to be here. She can't handle all the hell we cause. Ugh!
A sharp pain hit me like a bullet as I nicked my finger on the overly sharpened blade I was holding. "Ow! Fuck!" A sigh escaped my scarred lips. "Heh....." I watched my own blood roll off from my finger and drop to the wooden floor. Why didn't he just kill her like everyone else?.....
My ears picked up a light knock at my door, which had awoken me from my thoughts. I ran up to the door and forced it open, instantly growling at whoever dared to........dafuq? No one was standing in front of me. My head tilted down to see a bloody bag full of Twix bars and KitKats. I was completely puzzled. Who would just drop a random bag here by my door? I took it and went back inside my room. Maybe it was poisoned. I cautiously took a bite out of a Twix bar. Holy fuck! I smiled in delight as the chocolate and caramel melted inside my mouth. I hadn't tasted this shit since I was a kid. My mouth had forgotten the delicious taste of it.
A foggy memory entered my head of my older brother, Liu and I sitting on the sidewalk curb of our old house before we moved and all hell broke loose. We were about ten or-or eleven. He pulled out a bag of candy bars. "Alright bro," he said, "close your eyes and try to guess the candy bar by its flavor." I nodded with a big grin plastered on my face. Closing my eyes, he handed me one. I kept guessing wrong until he finally gave in and told me the answer. "How are you so bad at this? It's so easy." I shrugged, "They're all so delicious, they taste the same to me." Liu chuckled and pat my head. I laughed and grinned up at him and then he was soon too laughing.
The memory soon faded away. I longed to stay in the warmth and security it put off, but it was disappearing quickly. I reached my arms out and they grasped nothing. "Don't go....." I whispered. Soon enough though, I was left in my cold, drafty room again. "FUCK." I hung my head and tears threatened in my eyes. I missed him so much......"NO." a voice shouted in my head "No." It said again calmer, "Don't cry, Jeff. Everyone will think you're weak.~" "Why does it matter....no one's here...." Silence. "Don't cry. Mommy, Daddy, even Liu are in a better place. All because you put them to rest. All because you helped them go to sleep.~" My expression changed to a smile. Oh yeah.....I let out a chuckle. Crawling into my bed with a smile, I put on my sleeping mask. Slowly, I sank into the depths of my beloved sleep. "Good night, Mommy and Daddy. Good night, Liu. Sweet dreams.~"
